Naya Rivera was born on January 12, 1987 and raised in the Valencia neighborhood of Santa Clarita, California. Her parents are Yolanda, a former model, and George Rivera. Her younger brother is NFL tight end Mychal Rivera, and her younger sister is runway model Nickayla Rivera.
Career in showbiz
Naya Rivera began her career as a child actress and model, appearing in diffrent commercials before landing the role of Hillary Winston on the short-lived CBS sitcom 'The Royal Family' at the age of four (1991–1992), for which she received a nomination for a Young Artist Award.
Breakthrough role
Naya Rivera rose to fame playing Santana Lopez in 'Glee', which centered on the fictional William McKinley High School and its Glee club. Rivera’s Santana started out as a 'Mean Girl' cheerleader, but her character evolved into a popular, sympathetic figure, in part because of her struggles with her sexuality.
Married-life
Naya Rivera was married to a long-time friend, actor Ryan Dorsey. They both broke up in November 2016. Rivera was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in November 2017 after allegedly getting physical and out of control and striking Dorsey during an argument.They both share joint custody of their son Josey
