Building collapses on Tuesday night
Four people have died after a six-storey building collapsed and fell on an adjoining four-storey building in Greater Noida near Delhi on Tuesday night.

Several people trapped under the building
The smaller building also fell after the initial collapse. Some 14 to 15 families were believed to be living in the four-storey building, and 30 to 40 people are believed to be trapped under the rubble.

NDRF team with rescue worker at Shah-Beri village
The incident occurred at Shah-Beri village at about 9:30 pm.Search and rescue operations are underway with four National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams on the spot but the massive amount of rubble is reportedly making rescue operations difficult.

"District administration and NDRF teams are engaged in rescue and search operations. Some people are feared trapped in the rubble. Our thoughts are with the families of those who died in the incident," Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said.

Buildings illegally constructed?
RWA members said they had complained several times to the administration about the illegal construction in the area but nothing was done.

NDRF teams carry out search and rescue operations
"A dog squad has been pressed in service to help rescuers sniff out those alive and waiting to be rescued from under the debris. The CM has ordered an investigation, action will be taken against those found guilty," said Greater Noida MP and Union Minister for Culture Mahesh Sharma.

Builder and two associates arrested
The builder of the six-storey building and two of his associates meanwhile have been arrested.
