From 'tank man' to snake island defenders: Brave stories of resistance by Ukrainians against Vladimir Putin
'Tank Man'
A day after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered "military operations" in Ukraine, a video went viral on social media that apparently showed a Ukrainian man attempting to block a Russian military convoy as people compared it with the famous "tank man" of Tiananmen Square.
The half-minute clip went viral on social media forums. The clip was shared by the Ukrainian news outlet HB. In the video, a man can be seen standing in front of military vehicles in an attempt to block their progress.

Unexploded mine in hand
Another video went viral where a man was seen with an unexploded mine from the road as he picked it up with his bare hands and carried it deep into a forest.
He was wearing a black puffer jacket, jeans and dark trainers. He was seen with a cigarette in his mouth and spoke in Ukrainian.
Woman with sunflower seeds
A story of a Ukrainian woman went viral after the world admired her for her bravery when she confronted a Russian soldier. As per a video released by BBC, a woman can be seen offering sunflower seeds to an armed Russian soldier.
Sunflower, which is Ukraine's national flower, would bloom after the soldier had in the soil.

Snake Island defenders
The Ukrainian navy said that the soldiers guarding Snake Island, who were reported to have died by the Russian armed forces, were later found to be 'alive and well'.
The Ukrainian navy said on Facebook that the soldiers defending Snake Island in the Black Sea, also known as Zmiinyi Island, are alive but they are in Russian custody.
Alisa Zhuk
Another story of an eight-year-old Alisa Zhuk from Kyiv became famous as per a New York Times report. She was selling her drawings for around $20 to raise money for the Ukrainian army.
She wanted to make sure that Ukrainian soldiers have enough food and clothes amid their battle against the Russian armed forces.
