Many of the measures to prevent spread, like the White House's advice to avoid groups of more than 10 or the CDC's recommendation to stand 6-feet apart from others, aren't being followed as President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and others crowd the briefing room's stage to answer questions from the press.

Both Trump and Pence have had some close calls already: both were at a Mar-a-Lago event that was attended by two Brazilian officials who later tested positive for the coronavirus, and just last week, Pence's office announced one of its staffers contracted the disease; both Trump and Pence have tested negative.

According to the World Health Organisation the elderly people are extremely vulnerable to the disease. Both Trump and Pence are 73 and 60 years old respectively.
