BET Awards 2021: Meet the big winners of the night

Jazmine Sullivan won Album of the year for her critically acclaimed EP 'Heaux Tales'. Sullivan attended the show with her mother, who is battling cancer. During her heartfelt acceptance speech, she dedicated her award to all black women. “This award is bigger than me. It’s for all the women, all the Black women that are amazing and strong, that have inspired me all my life. I’m so glad that I was able to tell part of our stories. I hope I did y’all proud, " she said.

Megan Thee Stallion was the big winner at the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards. She took four awards -- Best Female Hip Hop Artist, the Viewers' Choice Award for her remix of 'Savage' featuring Beyoncé and shared Video of the Year and Best Collaboration with Cardi B for 'WAP'.

Rapper Lil Baby and Kirk Franklin kicked off the show with a performance that got everyone bouncing in their seats. Lil won big at the night and took home the Best Male Hip-Hop artist trophy. 

Cardi B stunned her fans during her performance flashing her baby bump. Cardi won Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for her Megan Thee Stallion ft. song 'WAP'.

The historical drama film, 'Judas And The Black Messiah' starring Daniel Kaluuya was named Best Movie.

The Shaka King directorial is about the events that lead to the betrayal of Fred Hampton (played by Daniel), chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party in late-1960s Chicago. 

After making much noise in the award season for her portrayal of singer Billie Holiday in 'The United States vs. Billie Holiday'. Day won the Best Actress for her role which earned her an Oscar nom and a Golden Globe award earlier this year.

The late Chadwick Boseman, who died of cancer in August 2020, before the release of his final film 'Ma Rainey`s Black Bottom' was named Best Actor during the ceremony.

Queen Latifah -- a hip-hop icon, legend, Oscar-nominated actor was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the annual BET Awards evening with the theme 'The Year of the Black Woman'. 

Latifah brought her father onstage, along with a photo of her mother, who died in 2018. “I am so extremely moved, I don’t even know what to say,” she said, before thanking God and her parents, family, friends and fans for supporting “every crazy-ass thing I’ve done over the years.”
