'Bell Bottom' to '83': List of Bollywood films you can finally watch in theatres this year

Here's the list of films confirmed so far for release on the big screen this year. 

'Bell Bottom'

Akshay Kumar's 'Bell Bottom' is now available on Amazon Prime Video. The espionage thriller set in the eighties also stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta and Huma Qureshi. The film was released theatrically on July 27. 



Ranveer Singh's most awaited project, '83' is finally set to release in December, this year. Kabir Khan's sports drama is centred around the Indian cricket team’s 1983 world cup win. In the movie, Ranveer will play the cricketer Kapil Dev while Padukone plays his wife Romi Bhatia and will be making a cameo in the movie.  The movie will release in cinema halls this Christmas.


Jhund (June 18)

Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Jhund' is releasing this month on OTT. The movie is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of Slum Soccer. The movie is helmed by Marathi filmmaker Nagraj Manjule.

The movie will stream on Zee 5 from May 6


'SHAMSHERA' (June 25)

Ranbir Kapoor starring 'Shamshera' is set to release on March 18, 2022. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor opposite Ranbir for the first time. Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing a pivotal role in the movie directed by Karan Malhotra.


shershaah (July 2)

Sidharth Malhotra will be seen in biographical action-drama 'Shershaah'. The Vishnuvardhan film is about the late Kargil war hero and Param Vir Chakra recipient Captain Vikram Batra.


Atrangi Re

Aanand L. Rai's 'Atrangi Re' will bring together Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush for the first time. 

Rai directorial is written by Himanshu Sharma and AR Rahman has composed the album for the film with songs penned by Irshad Kamil. The film also stars Nimrat Kaur in the lead role. 


Jayeshbhai Jordaar (August 27)

Ranveer Singh's 'Jayeshbhai Jordaar' will hit the cinemas on  February 25, 2022. Helmed by debutant writer-director Divyang, the movie is a humorous entertainer set in Gujarat. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of a Gujarati man. Ranveer as Jayeshbhai is the hero who will be seen championing the cause of women empowerment in the most entertaining way of story-telling. 


Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar

Dibakar Banerjee's 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar'  is finally getting a theatrical release this March. The film brings back Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra together and both of them represent two completely different Indians.  However, they are united by their mistrust, suspicion, and hatred for each other.


Alia Bhatt in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is finally releasing this February. The movie based on a chapter from the book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' by author Hussain Zaidi. 

The movie will release on February 25.
