The pollution in the national capital has made even the Yamuna river toxic with the deposit of foams.
Entering school with masks
The schools reopened in Delhi on November 6 after the extended break due to pollution. The students went to schools while wearing masks in order to avoid breathing toxic air.
More on the chief contributor
At this time of the season, farmers burn the residue of their harvested crops to prepare for the sowing season. Due to poor economic condition, farmers find it hard to avoid burning stubbles and opting for modern techniques to deal with waste.
What has been done?
So far, banning construction activities, stubble burning and allowing cars with odd and even number plates to run alternatively have been tried.
