Archana Kamath underwent a liver transplantation procedure as a donor and gave 60% of her liver to her mother-in-law's sister. But after the surgery, she started facing health complications and passed away.</p>

<p>The woman had donated a part of her liver to her husband's aunt who she reportedly considered extremely dear. The operation took place at a hospital in Bengaluru. Three days later, her health started deteriorating and she died of multiple organ failure.</p>

Jammu & Kashmir: Big names in fray for 26 assembly seats in second phase of polls

<p>In a distressing case from Delhi, a Class 9 student was stabbed to death by three of his friends for allegedly not giving them a "treat"&nbsp;after buying a new mobile phone, police said on Tuesday (Sep 24). The incident took place in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area.&nbsp;</p>

<p>All three attackers are juveniles, aged 16, and students of class 9. They have been apprehended in connection with the murder.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A patrol team was the first one to spot blood stains on a street near Ramji Samosa shop in Shakarpur around 7:15 pm on Monday (Sep 23), which led to further enquiry, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Delhi Apoorva Gupta.</p>

<p>As per the police, locals divulged that a group of boys was&nbsp;seen at the shop, and few of them even saw them stabbing one of the boys. The injured was taken to the LNJP Hospital then.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Delhi teen stabbed to death by friends over refusing to give 'treat' for new mobile phone

<p>Bengaluru murder case: After the gruesome details of Mahalakhsmi’s horrific murder came to light, her husband Hemant Das suspects her wife’s lover behind the crime. Mahalakshmi was found dead in her Bengaluru flat with her body chopped into over 30 pieces and stored in a refrigerator.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Das filed a complaint against her lover, Ashraf to a local Bengaluru police several months ago. Ashraf is a resident of Uttarakhand who was working in a Bengaluru salon, as per the victim’s husband.</p>

<p>Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda on Monday (Sep 23) said the police have identified the prime suspect in the case in which the body of the 29-year-old woman was found chopped up and stuffed into a refrigerator.</p>

<p>“He's an outsider. We can't give more information as of now as it may help the accused,” the police commissioner said.</p>

<p>Earlier, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said the police have collected a lot of information regarding the woman’s death, but said nothing in particular.</p>

<p>He added that the Bengaluru Police suspect a man reportedly from West Bengal to be behind the murder but added that more evidence is needed to confirm his role.</p>

<p>Hemant Das and Mahalakshmi were married for six years and have a daughter. However, the couple started living separately nine months ago due to domestic disputes, India Today reported. Mahalakshmi had an alleged affair with a man outside the marriage.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"They both had an extra-marital affair which led to the problem and I discovered it somewhere in April-May last year. For the last nine months, we were separated and I do not know whether she was in contact with the man. When she separated, he was also told not to meet her but I did not know if he met her. For the first four months, my daughter stayed with her (Mahalakshmi) and later she lived with me in Nelamangala,” The Indian Express quoted Das as saying.</p>

<p>Mahalakshmi used to live in Malleswaram and was working in a mall, her husband works in a hermitage away from the city.</p>

<p>The devotee, Donthu Padmavati, a resident of&nbsp;Khammam district, said she found tobacco in the prasadam during her visit to the Temple last week. She had brought the laddoos home to share with family and neighbours when she made the shocking discovery.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"As I was about to distribute the laddoo, I was horrified to find pieces of tobacco wrapped in a small paper.&nbsp;The prasadam is supposed to be sacred, and to find such contamination is heartbreaking," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The development, if true, adds to the recent revelations and raises serious questions on the integrity of the temple board, under whose nose, adulterated products have found their way into the offerings - revered by the millions of devotees visiting the holy site.</p>

<p>The new crater has been discovered from data sent back to Earth by the Pragyan rover, which is currently exploring the moon’s surface at the lunar South Pole.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Pragyan rover traversed a highland terrain around 350 km from the Aitken basin in the South Pole, the largest and oldest impact basin on the lunar surface. This piece of lunar land can be crucial for studying the early geological evolution of the moon.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi formally took charge as the chief minister of Delhi on Monday (Sep 23) but with a slight twist. She sat on a different seat, leaving the one used by her predecessor, Arvind Kejriwal, vacant.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Atishi took to X (formerly Twitter) and drew symbolism from the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana where Lord Ram had to spend 14 years in the wilderness. She referred to herself as 'Bharat', brother of Lord Ram.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I have taken charge as the chief minister of Delhi today and accepted this responsibility. My feelings today are the same as Bharat's when Lord Ram went into exile for 14 years and Bharat had to manage the governance of Ayodhya,” said Atishi.</p>

<p>Atishi took charge a couple of days after taking the oath and President Droupadi Murmu confirming her appointment. She is the third woman CM in Delhi's history, following in the footsteps of BJP's Sushma Swaraj and Congress' Sheila Dikshit.&nbsp;</p>

Tirupati prasadam row: Temple board conducts purification ritual after animal fat found in laddoos

<p>The Indian Supreme Court on Monday (Sep 23) ruled that watching and storage of child pornography amounted to an offence under the&nbsp;Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act). In the process, the court overturned a Madras High Court ruling which stated that downloading and watching pornography involving children on digital devices was not an offence.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>A bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justice Pardiwala said the High Court committed an "egregious error" in quashing the criminal proceedings. The bench set aside the decision and restored the criminal prosecution.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The HC committed an error in its order and thus we set aside the HC order and we remit the matter back to the sessions court," the court observed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The bench also explained the degree of&nbsp;mens rea (intention) required for such an act to constitute an offence under Section 15 of the POCSO Act. Notably, sub-section (1) of Section 15 penalises the failure to delete, destroy or report any child pornographic material that has been found to be stored or in possession by any person with an intention to share or transmit the same.</p>

<p>"Facilitation of such transmission, preparation, set up to enable transmit etc has to be there. Mens rea&nbsp;has to be found from the storage of such pornographic material. To establish offence under Section 15(3), apart from storage of child pornographic material, it has to be shown that such storage was done to make some gain or advantage."</p>

<p>The court also suggested that the Indian Parliament bring a law amending the POSCO Act to replace&nbsp;the term "child pornography" with "Child Sexual Exploitative and Abusive Material".</p>

<p>NGO, Just Right for Children Alliance, which worked for the welfare of children had filed the petition in the apex court demanding that the HC order be set aside and appropriate directors be issued in the matter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>She further emphasised that people can gain the strength to handle pressure by achieving divinity.</p>

<p>“Believe in God, we need to have God's grace. Seek God, and learn good discipline. Your Atma shakti will grow only from this. The inner strength will come only with growing Atma Shakti…Educational institutions should bring in divinity and spirituality. Then only will our children get the inner strength. It will help in their progress and the country. That is my strong belief,” the finance minister said.</p>

<p>The Taj Mahal, one of the wonders of the world and the postcard tourist place of India, has been in the headlines for water leakage from its dome and adjacent gardens getting inundated because of heavy rainfall.</p>

<p>But this is not the first time the alluring Taj Mahal has faced water woes because of heavy downpours.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The tomb was in similar conditions centuries ago when Mughal emperor Shah Jahan had shifted his capital from Agra to Delhi and his visits to the tomb had somewhat declined.</p>

<p>The incident has been vividly captured by British author Fergus Nicoll in his book "<em>Shah Jahan: The Rise And Fall Of The Mughal Emperor</em>".&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Shah Jahan's gaze shifts from Agra to Delhi</strong></h2>

<p>In his book, Nicoll explains that after "Agra was usurped as seat of the caliphate", the emperor made rare visits to the tomb.</p>

<p>Because of this, the tomb did not go through even basic maintenance. The dilapidated condition of the entire tomb complex was discovered by the then Mughal prince Aurangzeb - who was en route to the Deccan states in December 1652.</p>

India: Arvind Kejriwal claims PM Modi hatched ‘conspiracy’ against him, attacked his ‘honesty’

<p>In a case that is starkly similar to Shraddha Walker's brutal killing by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla in 2022, a&nbsp;26-year-old woman's dead body was found chopped in 30 pieces and kept inside a fridge in an apartment in Vyalikaval locality&nbsp;of Bengaluru, said the police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The neighbours had complained about the foul smell&nbsp;coming from the house, which they believed was emanating from rotten food.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When the police reached the location on Saturday (Sep&nbsp;21), they found chopped body parts of a woman stashed inside the fridge. Additional Commissioner of Police (West), Satish Kumar, said that they have identified the body.</p>

It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago. The body has been identified. The probe is going on. We will give more information after the investigation. She was settled in Karnataka but is originally from another state."</p>

<p>"We will give more information after an initial investigation. She had been living in Bengaluru, though she originally belonged to another state," said Kumar.</p>

<p>"It is a one-BHK house within Vyalikaval police station limits. The body of the 26-year-old girl was found cut into pieces and stored in a refrigerator. Prima facie, the incident did not occur today... We have identified the girl, but let us complete the initial investigation," he added.</p>

<h2><strong>Who was the woman found hacked in pieces?</strong></h2>

<p>As per the report, the woman was 29 years old and belonged to Jharkhand.</p>

<p>The body was first found by the victim's landlord, who had entered the flat to figure out the cause and source of the foul smell that was troubling neighbours for more than two days.</p>

<p>The police identified the woman as Mahalakshmi, the wife of Hemant Das. She used to live alone in the flat and her body was found in the 165-litre refrigerator.</p>

<p>When the neighbours informed Jayaram, who is the owner of the flat, he reached the building to check the stench, as reported by The Indian Express.</p>

It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago. The body has been identified. The probe is going on. We will give more information after the investigation. She was settled in Karnataka but is originally from another state." "We will give more information after an initial investigation. She had been living in Bengaluru, though she originally belonged to another state," said Kumar. "It is a one-BHK house within Vyalikaval police station limits. The body of the 26-year-old girl was found cut into pieces and stored in a refrigerator. Prima facie, the incident did not occur today... As per the report, the woman was 29 years old and belonged to Jharkhand. The body was first found by the victim's landlord, who had entered the flat to figure out the cause and source of the foul smell that was troubling neighbours for more than two days. The police identified the woman as Mahalakshmi, the wife of Hemant Das. She used to live alone in the flat and her body was found in the 165-litre refrigerator. He found the flat locked from the outside, however, he somehow got entry into the flat even after finding the stench overbearing, after which he discovered dry blood and the dismembered body of the woman. <p>The man was battling depression due to work pressure, as per reports,&nbsp;and&nbsp;was alone in his house in Thazhambur off Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) on Thursday (Sep 19) at the time of the incident.</p>

<p>The victim was 38-year-old Karthikeyan and he was a native of Theni. He was an employee of a software firm in Pallavaram for the past 15 years.</p>

<p>He used to live with his wife K Jayarani, and their two children, who were 8 and 10 years old.</p>

<p>According to the police, the man had complained of facing depression because of work pressure&nbsp;and was receiving treatment at a hospital in Medavakkam for the last two months. As reported by NDTV, the man had recently shifted to a new company and had left a suicide note for the family members.</p>

<p>The wife, Jayarani, had gone to the Thirunallaru temple along with her friends. The two children had gone to stay with their grandmother and Karthikeyan was alone at home.</p>
