Paris played host Sunday to an ultra-glitzy collision between fashion and sport as Vogue put on its latest branding event in the heart of the city ahead of the Olympic Games. With magazine sales falling precipitously, the fashion bible has turned to star-studded events in a bid to keep its name relevant.&nbsp;

"Vogue World: Paris" follows similar events in New York and London, and was neatly timed in the midst of fashion week and on International Olympic Day.

Taking over Place Vendome in the heart of the city, the idea was to match each decade of fashion from the past century -- since Paris last hosted the Games in 1924 -- with a different sport, from gymnastics to breakdancing to fencing.

The show began with Jean Paul Gaultier putting the finishing touches to the dress of singer Aya Nakamura, while an orchestra delivered a classical take on Daft Punk's "Around the World" for the 800 guests that included Pharrell Williams, Venus Williams, Katy Perry and Bad Bunny.&nbsp;

The first part of the show paired cycling with 1920s fashion, including vintage Chanel dresses from the period, while Nakamura sang.&nbsp;

At one point, supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner rode horses around the square -- all four wearing Hermes.

Other brands providing the clothes included Balenciaga, Balmain, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent.&nbsp;

"We're here to celebrate the wonder of French fashion. So I'm just grateful for all the support from the French community and the world of fashion here in Paris," Vogue supremo Anna Wintour told AFP before the event kicked off.

Vogue World brings together fashion and sport in Paris

Fashion great Dries Van Noten will be presenting his very last show in Paris on Saturday to end a glittering 40-year career. The universally respected Belgian, nicknamed the "Flemish master of fashion", took everyone by surprise when he announced his decision to quit this year.

Few fashion designers retire at the age of 66 in good shape and with a healthy business, as he recently told the New York Times. "I feel it's time to leave room for a new generation of talents to bring their vision to the brand," he wrote in an open letter on Instagram.

He went on to say that he wanted to enjoy all the things he never had the time to do. On top of his design business, Van Noten will also be leaving behind the beauty and perfume lines that he had created.&nbsp;

"After the men's show, I'm going to have another email address," he told the New York Times. "I'm not going to be @driesvannoten any more. I have to find an Instagram name now, because my Instagram is Dries Van Noten, and that is the brand. It's strange. That I didn't see coming.”

- 'Flowers come up everywhere' -

No details have been released about the spring-summer 2025 show, which will take place in La Courneuve, north of Paris. It is expected to be a celebration of Dries Van Noten style: garments cut to perfection, clashes of colour and bursts of fabric and print.

"I'm a gardener, so flowers automatically come up everywhere: symbolic flowers, simply their colours, or real flowers," he told AFP in 2014. He went on to say that he draws a great deal of inspiration from his travels -- in particular to India -- and from art.&nbsp;

"The starting point for a collection can be very literal or very abstract: a painting, a colour, someone's thoughts, anything at all," he told AFP.

At the end of February, Van Noten showcased a women's collection marked by a touch of dreaminess in pastel colours and loose silhouettes like nightwear.

It also featured bags as soft as cuddly toys, all presented in a construction site in Paris -- where he has been putting on shows since 1993. The collections that will follow, including a women's collection due in September, will be created by the team at his studio, with whom he has worked for years.

- Antwerp Six -

The only condition set before his departure was that the group would remain in Antwerp, far from the Paris fashion glitz. The Puig Group, which acquired a majority stake in the label in 2018, agreed to Van Noten's request.

Established in the 1980s, Van Noten presented his first collection in London in 1986, with the "Antwerp Six" -- a group of Belgian designers that took the fashion world by storm with their avant-garde designs.

The group, which included Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Dirk Van Saene, Walter Van Beirendonck and Marina Yee, are still synonymous with the genre today.&nbsp; The son and grandson of tailors, Van Noten opened his first boutique in 1989 in the diamond capital of the world.

Dries Van Noten bids farewell to florals and the fashion world

Yoga benefits for adults: Yoga is considered one of the best exercises all over the world because it calms down the mind, and renders physical and emotional strength to the body, increasing body posture, flexibility, and concentration power. Unlike other physical activities which can cause body strain due to rigorous workouts, yoga is a safe option for the elderly as it mainly focuses on mind, body and breathing techniques, helping them to rejuvenate and stay healthy. Yoga can be practiced daily to avail the benefits and one should gradually include various asanas so the body will get acclimatised to it.&nbsp;

<h2>Benefits of yoga for older adults&nbsp;</h2>

Flexibility: Yoga poses involve stretching, and flexibility in joints is essential, especially for the elderly, as it enables them to move around more freely. Some easy exercises such as the stretch can help reduce stiffness and also poor posture.&nbsp;

Better balance: Nearly all the yoga asanas relate to stability and hence help in the reduction of falls which are crucial for elderly persons. Postures such as Tree Pose and Warrior III strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and back and lessen the risk of falling.

Cognitive function: Yoga involves deliberate movement of the body, and this in one way involves the brain and can enhance its functioning. Yoga practice can enhance memory, focused attention and information processing speed, which help the brain in its functioning.

Stress reduction: Yoga includes controlled breathing and relaxation to reduce stress levels that may persist in elderly persons. Lower stress levels positively affect mental, psychological, and in some cases even physical well-being by decreasing the number of diseases caused by stress.

Pain management: Arthritis, back pain and any other chronic pain are common in older adults, but yoga can provide relief through gentle stretching and strengthening. Daily exercise helps in eradicating pain in a person experiencing arthritis or backache.

Anti-ageing: Certain yoga practices generate heat in the body which helps in improving circulation and metabolism and promotes skin health and overall rejuvenation for older people. &nbsp;Surya Bhedana Pranayama if done regularly can assist the person in controlling the stress factor and thereby can prove beneficial in anti-ageing.

Sleep Management: Elderly people mostly experience sleep disorders. Meditation principles followed in yoga include relaxation and stress reduction, thus enhancing sleep quality and developing good sleep habits.

Some elderly people need to exercise caution before adopting yoga into their daily practices. Here are some considerations for older individuals who may need to approach yoga practice with care or avoid certain aspects altogether:

●&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Individuals with very severe osteoporosis should not perform forward bends or twisting movements in yoga since these movements are likely to cause fractures. A yoga instructor who is experienced with osteoporosis patients can guide the changes to make.

●&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;People who underwent recent joint surgery should avoid excessive stress on the replaced joint.&nbsp;

●&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;While some yoga exercises may transitory increase blood pressure, some forms of pranayama or breathing exercises are strenuous as well. Therefore, those with uncontrolled hypertension should seek medical advice before practising yoga and can opt for moderate exercise.

●&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;People with severe cognitive impairment may have difficulty following instructions or practising yoga poses safely. Yoga therapy or yoga exercise programs customized for the elderly with such needs by professional yoga trainers may be more suitable.

Speaking exclusively to WION, Dr Alok Rai (Sr. Consultant - Pre &amp; Post Surgical, Ergonomics &amp; Sports Rehab Specialist, Apollo Spectra Hospital, Bangalore) says, "Yoga, when practised as part of daily activities or several times a week can greatly improve the quality of life among the elderly by tackling physical challenges and disorders as well as mental issues. However, it is essential to remember that if one has a medical ailment or disease, yoga should be commenced after seeking advice from a doctor."

Yoga can be modified according to the abilities of the person, which makes it an excellent option for senior citizens. One of the best ways is to do yoga under the guidance of a certified instructor, who would customise asanas as per individual’s needs.

Shipra Khanna is best known as the winner of MasterChef India in 2012 when she was 29. Now over a decade later, Shipra has published 9 cookbooks, with her latest Sinfully Yours that is published by Om Books International, featuring recipes for desserts.&nbsp;

WION catches up with Shipra to know more about her culinary journey, recently released cookbook and her experience with MasterChef.&nbsp;

1. How do you research recipes? Where do you get inspiration for most of your recipes from?

My recipe research is a blend of passion and exploration. I dive deep into cookbooks, food blogs, and culinary shows, but most importantly, I draw inspiration from my extensive travels and the incredible people I’ve met. Cooking with renowned chefs and local talents in over 50 countries has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of flavours and techniques. Each new dish I create is a tribute to the cultures and friendships I’ve cultivated worldwide.

2. Do you travel a lot? How many countries have you been to? How does travel shape your research for recipes?&nbsp;

Traveling is at the heart of my culinary journey. I’ve been fortunate to explore over 50 countries, each offering unique experiences that deeply influence my cooking. Travel enriches my recipes with authentic flavours and traditional methods. Meeting local chefs and experiencing their cultures first-hand has been the most rewarding part of my career, allowing me to bring a piece of their heritage into my kitchen.&nbsp;

&nbsp;3. Reflecting back on your MasterChef experience, how did MasterChef prepare you for the opportunities the food world has to offer?&nbsp;

Winning MasterChef India was a life-changing experience. It challenged me to push my boundaries, think creatively, and perform under pressure. The exposure and recognition opened countless doors, from publishing cookbooks to collaborating with international chefs. MasterChef taught me resilience and adaptability—key traits that have enabled me to seize opportunities and make a mark in the global culinary scene.&nbsp;

&nbsp;4. What’s your go-to dish? How long do you take to prepare it? What quirks do you make it with?

My go-to dish is my mothers recipe of flavourful vegetable biryani. It typically takes around an hour to prepare. I add my unique twist by incorporating seasonal vegetables and ingredients from my hometown Shimla , Himachal Pradesh with a blend of home made spices which I personally curate from my travels. The final touch is a drizzle of saffron-infused milk, which gives it a luxurious aroma and taste. This dish embodies my philosophy of combining tradition with innovation.&nbsp;

5. What are your favorite restaurants in the world?&nbsp;

Some of my favorite restaurants include Arzak, San Sebastián, Lucky cat London, Zuma Dubai, La Petit Chef Paris, Aarde Madrid, Quinto Elemento Madrid. These restaurants are not just about the food but the entire dining experience, which leaves a lasting impression and fuels my culinary creativity.

&nbsp;6. What’s your next cookbook going to be about?

My next cookbook will focus on sustainable cooking. It will highlight the importance of using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and minimizing food waste. The book will feature recipes that are not only delicious but also environmentally conscious, offering practical tips for making your kitchen more sustainable. I hope to inspire a new generation of chefs to cook with both passion and purpose.&nbsp;

&nbsp;7. Are many people reading and following cookbooks today?

Yes, cookbooks remain a beloved resource for many, even in the digital age. They provide curated, reliable recipes and the joy of discovering new cuisines and techniques. While digital media offers convenience, the tactile experience and rich storytelling of cookbooks continue to inspire home cooks and professional chefs alike. I believe cookbooks will always have a cherished place in our culinary journeys.

8. How do you engage in self-care? Especially as a chef?
&nbsp;
As a chef, self-care is crucial to maintaining creativity, energy, and passion in the kitchen. Here’s how I prioritize my well-being.

1.&nbsp;Balanced Diet: I focus on a balanced diet rich in fresh, wholesome foods to fuel my body and mind. This includes enjoying the healthy desserts I create, which provide both nutrition and satisfaction.

2. Physical Activity: Regular exercise, such as yoga or a simple walk, helps me stay fit and clear-headed, ready to tackle the demands of the culinary world.

3.&nbsp;Mindfulness and Meditation: Practicing mindfulness and meditation keeps me grounded and reduces stress, enhancing my focus and creativity.

I add my unique twist by incorporating seasonal vegetables and ingredients from my hometown Shimla , Himachal Pradesh with a blend of home made spices which I personally curate from my travels. The final touch is a drizzle of saffron-infused milk, which gives it a luxurious aroma and taste. This dish embodies my philosophy of combining tradition with innovation. 5. What are your favorite restaurants in the world? Some of my favorite restaurants include Arzak, San Sebastián, Lucky cat London, Zuma Dubai, La Petit Chef Paris, Aarde Madrid, Quinto Elemento Madrid. These restaurants are not just about the food but the entire dining experience, which leaves a lasting impression and fuels my culinary creativity. 6. What’s your next cookbook going to be about? My next cookbook will focus on sustainable cooking. It will highlight the importance of using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and minimizing food waste. The book will feature recipes that are not only delicious but also environmentally conscious, offering practical tips for making your kitchen more sustainable. I hope to inspire a new generation of chefs to cook with both passion and purpose. 7. As a chef, self-care is crucial to maintaining creativity, energy, and passion in the kitchen. Here’s how I prioritize my well-being. 1. Balanced Diet: I focus on a balanced diet rich in fresh, wholesome foods to fuel my body and mind. This includes enjoying the healthy desserts I create, which provide both nutrition and satisfaction. 2. Physical Activity: Regular exercise, such as yoga or a simple walk, helps me stay fit and clear-headed, ready to tackle the demands of the culinary world. 3. Mindfulness and Meditation: Practicing mindfulness and meditation keeps me grounded and reduces stress, enhancing my focus and creativity.

Is Meghan Markle 'desperate' to end feud with Princess Kate amid her health struggle?

Princess of Wales looked splendid as she made an appearance during the Trooping the Colour ceremony last weekend. Marking her first official public outing since the news of her suffering from cancer came out, Kate Middleton looked spectacular and much in her element as she posed for photographs, greeted the onlookers and smiled from her glass carriage.&nbsp;

The first time she was spotted in public since Christmas Day 2023, Kate has been mindful of her outings. She has barely been snapped by curious paparazzi. She has kept a low profile mostly since then.&nbsp;

<h2>Kate's Trooping the Colour outing must have been difficult for her amid treatment</h2>

But her class act could have cost her a bit, suggested royal experts since she’s not keeping well owing to chemotherapy sessions. Kate underwent a planned abdominal surgery at The London Clinic in January that ultimately detected cancer. She made the cancer announcement on March 22, 2024. She has been receiving treatment since.

Meanwhile, royal author Katie Nicholl who has been covering the royals since Kate married into the family and has studied her extensively said that her “immaculate” appearance at Trooping the Colour took a toll on her. In Kate’s own words, she’s “not out of the woods” just yet and still has a few more months of chemotherapy left to go.

“The princess has this sort of swan-like quality about her—she’s sort of gliding on the surface, but beneath the water, I think often she’s paddling quite frantically,” Nicholl said. “I can only imagine that a huge amount of preparation and time and effort and energy will have gone into Saturday’s appearance.”

The royal expert noted that Kate “was on her feet for a long period of time” and that too “in heels”. She added, “There was a moment where she was watching the parade and was offered a seat, which she gratefully accepted. That’s just a bit of an acknowledgement that she is not as strong, not as fit, as she was before she went into this treatment.”&nbsp;

Royal expert says latest public outing must have been difficult for Princess Kate amid treatment

All eyes were on Princess Kate Middleton as she joined the royal family for King Charles' official birthday parade, Trooping the Colour, on June 15 in London. This marked her first public appearance in six months following her cancer diagnosis and subsequent chemotherapy announcement in March.

Looking gorgeous as ever, Princess Kate wore a white Jenny Packham dress featuring black trim and ribbon embellishments on the neckline. Her hair was elegantly styled in a braided bun under a white hat by Philip Treacy. To accessories, she opted for Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Pearl Studs, previously seen at Prince Louis' christening in 2018 and Wimbledon in 2023, and wore the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, symbolising her honorary role as colonel of the regiment.

The Princess travelled in the Glass Coach with her children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, and later joined the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Princess Kate has attended Trooping the Colour every year since 2011, except during the scaled-down events of 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She expressed her anticipation for the event and shared plans to engage in more public appearances over the summer, while noting her ongoing battle with chemotherapy.

"I’m looking forward to attending the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet. I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal,"&nbsp;wrote Kate.

Royal Fashion Diary! Kate Middleton stuns in white Jenny Packham dress and white hat for Trooping the Colour

King Charles, 75, made a grand entrance as he attended the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 15 in London, celebrating his official birthday for the second time as monarch. The event, featuring a grand military procession and a Royal Air Force flypast, has been a staple in British tradition for over 260 years.

On May 30, it was announced that King Charles would participate in this year's event with a slight modification due to his ongoing cancer treatment. Instead of the traditional horseback ride, he joined the procession in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by Queen Camilla.

For the occasion, King Charles donned the Guard of Honour Order's tunic made of bearskin, adorned with a blue garter sash, symbolising the regiment being honoured. His attire also included his mother Queen Elizabeth's cypher and decorations from the Noble Order military and knight garters.&nbsp;

Additionally, he wore several medals, including the 1953 Coronation medal of Queen Elizabeth and her various jubilee medals, from silver to platinum, marking key milestones throughout her reign.

Paris Fashion Week returns on Tuesday, bringing some much-needed light relief to a country in the throes of political chaos. Menswear week runs until next Sunday, followed immediately by the haute couture shows until June 27.

France has been in turmoil since President Emmanuel Macron called surprise legislative elections after a surge by the far-right in European polls. But for fashionistas, the biggest issue might be getting around Paris, which is also finalising preparations to host next month's Olympic Games, with a tenfold increase in traffic congestion due to road and site closures.

The Olympics have brought the menswear and couture weeks forward from July (womenswear takes place in September).

With fashion already working at a punishing pace, that has forced some houses to abandon this season, including Olivier Rousteing's Balmain, which told AFP it had pulled out at the last minute.

Valentino and Givenchy are also skipping this week's shows.&nbsp;

As for the big names who are appearing, hip-hop mogul Pharrell Williams will continue his high-profile leadership at Louis Vuitton, marking a year since his ultra-lavish debut show when he took over the Pont Neuf bridge and painted its paving stones gold.

But the highlight will be a mega-party organised by Vogue on Sunday bringing together the doubly lucrative worlds of sports and fashion.

It is the third edition of Vogue World -- a sort of travelling Met Gala that has already seen events in New York and London -- and comes as the brand seeks new ways to stay relevant in a world of dwindling magazine sales.

Several top brands will display collections, including Dior, Jacquemus, Hermes and Balenciaga, each paired with an Olympic discipline from athletics to breakdancing.

- Chanel shock -

There have been some big movements at the heads of fashion houses.&nbsp;

The biggest shock was the announcement last week that Chanel has dropped Virginie Viard, who worked for 20 years alongside her predecessor Karl Lagerfeld and took over after his death in 2019.

It appears the split was less than amicable, since Viard will not be present for Chanel's couture show on June 25, despite overseeing record sales for the brand last year.

"It will be a studio collection and Virginie Viard will not be present," a Chanel spokesperson told AFP.

The end of the Lagerfeld era has set off fashionistas' favourite pastime: speculating on who comes next.

Among the names circulating: France's Marine Serre, Hedi Slimane of Celine, Pierpaolo Piccioli (who recently left Valentino) and Simon Porte Jacquemus, whose eponymous label has been one of the big independent success stories of recent years.

While Valentino awaits the debut of its high-profile new creative director Alessandro Michele (formerly of Gucci), Givenchy is still looking for a lead designer since the departure of Matthew Williams last year.

This week will also see the final show by Belgian designer Dries Van Noten on Saturday.&nbsp;

Though not a household name, the 66-year-old is retiring as a favourite among serious fashion fans for his avant-garde styles and expert tailoring.

In a world where health, wellbeing and nutrition are at the forefront of our minds, protein is often hailed as a fundamental building block of life. But with so many sources of protein available, how do we know which is best for our bodies? Among these, soy protein stands out—not just for its nutritional benefits, but also for the misconceptions that surround it.

Many of these myths seem to originate from the Western world, driven by a desire to promote alternatives that are more readily available there. On the other hand, cultures such as the Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans have long relied on soy protein, making it vital to separate fact from fiction.

Soy protein as a nutritional powerhouse has been a dietary staple for thousands of years, yet it is often surrounded by a cloud of myths and misconceptions. It's time to shine a light on the truth about soy protein and dispel these myths once and for all.

But before that, it is important to note that soybean stands out among plants for its "high quality" protein. The term "quality" here is often measured in terms of the protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS), which considers both the essential amino acid content and the protein's digestibility. Soy protein's PDCAAS values range from 0.91 to 1.0 which is considered to be the best score in terms of digestibility, varying with the specific soy product.

Typically, these myths stem from animal studies. Although rodents, with their somewhat similar physiology to humans, are used to understand the effects of various ingredients, human evidence shows that soy isoflavones do not function the same way in humans as they do in animals. Furthermore, these studies often test soy isoflavones at unrealistically high concentrations, far exceeding even the highest levels of soy consumption in human diets.

Now let’s dive into the myths and facts about soy protein and uncover the truth behind this remarkable nutrient.&nbsp;

Myth 1: Soy Protein Causes Hormonal Imbalances

Fact: One of the most pervasive myths is that soy protein causes hormonal imbalances, especially in men, due to its isoflavone content. Isoflavones are phytoestrogens, which are plant-derived compounds that can mimic estrogen in the body. This has led to fears that soy could affect testosterone levels and fertility. However, extensive research has shown that soy consumption does not have significant effects on testosterone or estrogen levels in men. Isoflavones in soy are much weaker than human estrogen and do not disrupt hormonal balance.

Myth 2: Soy Protein Increases Breast Cancer Risk

Fact: Another common concern is that soy protein increases the risk of breast cancer. This myth stems from the belief that the phytoestrogens in soy can stimulate the growth of estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer cells. Contrary to this belief, studies have shown that soy consumption is actually associated with a reduced risk of breast cancer. Research, particularly from Asian populations where soy is a dietary staple, indicates that regular soy intake may offer protective effects against breast cancer.

Myth 3: Soy Protein Disrupts Thyroid Function

Fact: Some people worry that soy protein can interfere with thyroid function, leading to hypothyroidism. While it's true that soy contains goitrogens, which can affect thyroid function, the impact is minimal unless soy is consumed in extremely high amounts. For individuals with normal thyroid function, moderate soy consumption does not pose a risk. Even for those with hypothyroidism, soy can be safely consumed with proper monitoring and medical guidance.

Myth 4: Soy Protein Inhibits Mineral Absorption

Another myth is that soy protein inhibits the absorption of minerals like calcium, magnesium, and zinc due to its phytic acid content. It is important to note that phytic acid is a natural compound found in plant seeds that can bind to minerals reducing their absorption. However, this effect varies based on diet and individual nutritional status. Processing methods for soy protein isolates does reduce, but do not completely eliminate phytates. Therefore, maintaining a well-balanced diet that includes foods which enhance mineral absorption is essential. For example, foods rich in vitamin C can improve iron absorption, while other nutrient-dense foods may aid in the absorption of other minerals.

Myth 5: GMOs in Soy Are Unsafe

There is a belief that genetically modified (GMO) soy is unsafe. Numerous studies have shown the safety of GMO foods, including soy. However, for those concerned about GMOs, there are many options for non-GMO soy products that are widely available, including our all-plant protein which is non-GMO.

Myth 6: Soy Protein Causes Cognitive Decline

Some rumors suggest that soy protein leads to a decline in cognitive function, such as memory loss. Large-scale, long-term studies have found no significant correlation between soy intake and cognitive function. This is yet another baseless myth.

Other Myths: Uric Acid, Creatinine, and More

There are other misconceptions related to soy protein, such as it affects uric acid and creatinine levels, but numerous studies conducted on humans found no scientific basis to these claims.&nbsp;

Protein is essential for nearly every biological process in the human body, from tissue repair to muscle building. Getting the right kind of protein through a balanced diet and need based supplementation is important for maintaining overall health and well-being. But, when it comes to choosing a plant protein supplement, quality is everything!

An ideal plant protein supplement should be made entirely from good plant sources like Soy, Pea, and Wheat, having all nine essential amino acids and should be easy for the body to digest and absorb. It should be pure and clean without artificial ingredients, preservatives, harmful substances or fillers and should meet the highest standards of quality, safety and hygiene.&nbsp;

Is soy really bad for you? Let's debunk some myths about soy protein

Chanel's artistic director Virgine Viard is leaving the brand. The luxury brand made the announcement on Thursday sparking speculation on who will replace her in one of the fashion's most coveted post.&nbsp;

"A new chapter is opening for Chanel Mode," Chanel said in a statement, confirming the change, which was first reported on fashion news website Business of Fashion.

The privately-owned label, known for tweed jackets, quilted handbags with double-C logos and the iconic No. 5 perfume, did not name a successor as it thanked Viard for her "rich collaboration of five years".

Viard, 62, worked at Chanel for nearly thirty years, alongside Karl Lagerfeld. Viard took over Lagerfeld's post after his death in 2019.&nbsp;

She favoured relaxed silhouettes with an Eighties flare and took a low-key approach compared to her predecessor, sending models along the Seine River and down a street in Manchester for recent fashion shows, for example -- marking a contrast with the showmanship of Lagerfeld, who built towering sets including a rocketship and indoor waterfall for his catwalk presentations.

In the statement, the brand also stated that Chanel teams will ensure the "continuity" of collections in the interim period. The brand will also host its fall-winter haute couture show 2024/2025 on June 25 in Paris.

Rumours of a new designer at Chanel have swirled for years, most recently including talk of industry heavyweights like former Gucci designer Alessandro Michele, who has since been recruited to Valentino.

Chanel Chief Executive Leena Nair last month brushed off talk of a designer change, noting that Viard had overseen strong growth in ready-to-wear fashion sales, which have surged two-and-a-half-times since 2018.

The world's second-largest label after LVMH's Louis Vuitton, Chanel is owned by French billionaire brothers Alain Wertheimer and Gerard Wertheimer.

Banknotes in Britain, bearing the image of King Charles III, went into circulation for the first time on Wednesday- two years after he was crowned after his mother Queen Elizabeth's death.

The four banknotes with the king's portrait on the front carry values of £5 ($6.4), £10, £20 and £50. The currency notes will be used in the UK alongside the old currency notes that bear the image of Elizabeth. The Queen died in September 2021.

Coins bearing Charles's head entered circulation in December 2022.

The updates come as Britons increasingly use physical and online bank cards, rather than cash, to make payments. But Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey called it "a historic moment", with the late queen having served a record 70 years on the throne.

"We know that cash is important for many people, and we are committed to providing banknotes for as long as the public demand them," he added.

Based on a photograph owned by the royal household and made available in 2013, Charles in late 2022 approved the final designs of the notes featuring his engraved portrait.

The new cash -- made from polymer that has already been used to replace paper money in the UK since 2016 -- will gradually replace the older notes.

Haliza Maysuri and her husband, Mohd Rosli Awang, founders of the Muslim apparel brand Bawal Exclusive are facing backlash online for celebrating their cat's 7th birthday at a Louis Vuitton boutique.

Many have stated that the celebration was extravagant and suggested the money could have been spent better on other things.

The entrepreneur couple organised the celebration for their cat, Money, at the Louis Vuitton store in Gardens Mal, Kuala Lumpur. The event included a birthday cake presented by staff and a birthday song.&nbsp;

The event came to light when Maysuri posted photos and videos on Instagram on May 10, showing Money dressed in a grey Swarovski crystal-studded dress designed by Malaysian designer Rizalman Ibrahim.&nbsp;

Justin Bieber's wife and model Hailey Bieber recently shared her summer beauty routine in a YouTube tutorial, giving fans a glimpse into her favourite seasonal look. The video was titled, "My peachy beachy summer makeup | get ready with me".

In the 5-minute-long video, the Rhode Skin founder begins her GRWM routine with Rhode Glazing Milk. She describes this product as her "favourite" due to its glowing and moisturising properties that benefit the skin barrier without feeling heavy. After massaging the Glazing Milk onto her face, she preps her skin further with Rhode's Peptide Glazing Fluid.

Next, Bieber contours and bronzes her skin using the Dolce Glow Contour Self-Tanning Sculpt + Glow wand. She follows this by applying Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer, which she praises for its creamy texture and how well it blends into the skin. "It's so creamy and beautiful, and it has just stayed a staple in my makeup routine," she noted.

To achieve a radiant finish, Bieber uses Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, calling it "really hydrating, really glowy, [and] the perfect thing for summertime skin." To prevent her makeup from looking greasy, she sets it with Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Pressed Powder.
