Prince William pays homage to his father and the new king. After Charles was crowned as the new king, Prince William, the first heir to the throne, stepped up to pledge his loyalty to his father as he kissed his cheek.
"I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty to you, and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb. So help me God," William said.

Charles III was crowned monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms after a lifetime as heir apparent to his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
After the crowning by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, Charles, 74, was acclaimed with shouts of "God save the king" both within Westminster Abbey and by large crowds gathered outside.

He says, "I, Charles, do solemnly and sincerely in the presence of God profess, testify, and declare that I am a faithful Protestant, and that I will, according to the true intent of the enactments which secure the Protestant succession to the throne, uphold and maintain the said enactments to the best of my powers according to law."

Their Majesties have begun their journey of two kilometres from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey. Charles will be the 40th reigning monarch.

The group of people wearing "Not My King" t-shirts were protesting at Trafalgar Square ahead of the coronation, where thousands of people have gathered to watch the royal processions.

Jamaica and Belize are looking at ditching King Charles III as their head of state and becoming republics, leading politicians from both countries said Thursday ahead of his coronation. As the British Sikh peer, Lord Indarjit Singh, 90, will hand over a key item of the regalia to King Charles III during his coronation at Westminster Abbey in London today. It is symbolic of the multi-faith, multi-cultural and inter-religious note being struck at an otherwise traditionally Christian ceremony.
The 90-year-old spoke to the British media ahead of the historic ceremony and stated, "It's a great honour for myself, but much more for the wider Sikh community, in this country, in India and further afield wherever Sikhs are across the globe. It's a recognition of the King's view of inclusivity."
