Coronation LIVE UPDATES! King Charles, Queen Camilla crowned at Westminster Abbey

President Biden congratulated the newly crowned on their coronation. He was not able to attend the coronation, but first lady Jill Biden was among the attendees at Westminster Abbey.

Yet again, Prince Louise stole all the limelight at King Charles’ coronation on Saturday. The little prince, who joined his father William, mother Kate, and sister Charlotte for the royal event, was seen yawning at the ceremony. 

King Charles III's wife Camilla has been crowned with Queen Mary’s Crown. Camilla, 75, was crowned by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby moments after Charles's own coronation as sovereign of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms. 

Trumpets and a chorus of "God save the king" took over Westminster Abbey as the crown was placed on King Charles' head.

Charles III was crowned monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms after a lifetime as heir apparent to his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II. 

After the crowning by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, Charles, 74, was acclaimed with shouts of "God save the king" both within Westminster Abbey and by large crowds gathered outside.

King Charles takes the oath. He says, "I, Charles, do solemnly and sincerely in the presence of God profess, testify, and declare that I am a faithful Protestant, and that I will, according to the true intent of the enactments which secure the Protestant succession to the throne, uphold and maintain the said enactments to the best of my powers according to law."

King Charles arrived at Westminster Abbey 

The Duke of Sussex has arrived at Westminster Abbey.

Their Majesties have begun their journey of two kilometres from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey. Charles will be the 40th reigning monarch.

Britain's King Charles III and Britain's Camilla, Queen Consort begin their journey in the Diamond State Coach, in the 'King's Procession', a journey of two kilometres from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey.

To mark the historic event, thousands of people have gathered on the London streets. The ceremony will be held at Westminster Abbey with royal customs and traditions dating back to 1000 years.

Ahead of King Charles' coronation, British police arrested a group of anti-monarchist protestors including Graham Smith, head of the group Republic.

The group of people wearing "Not My King" t-shirts were protesting at Trafalgar Square ahead of the coronation, where thousands of people have gathered to watch the royal processions.

As the British Sikh peer, Lord Indarjit Singh, 90, will hand over a key item of the regalia to King Charles III during his coronation at Westminster Abbey in London today. It is symbolic of the multi-faith, multi-cultural and inter-religious note being struck at an otherwise traditionally Christian ceremony.

The 90-year-old spoke to the British media ahead of the historic ceremony and stated, "It's a great honour for myself, but much more for the wider Sikh community, in this country, in India and further afield wherever Sikhs are across the globe. It's a recognition of the King's view of inclusivity."
