After some quick wickets, Tim David (21-ball 45 not out) and Romario Shepherd (unbeaten 10-ball 39) added 53 runs in just 13 balls to propel MI to a huge total. It was Shepherd who hit 32 runs off Anrich Nortje in the last over which proved to be the difference between the two teams.

Delhi Capitals were in the hunt for a bit but kept losing wickets and a slow powerplay didn't help as well. Prithvi Shaw (40-ball 66) and Tristan Stubbs (25-ball 71 not out) were the standouts for DC during the chase. Delhi eventually fell short by 29 runs to slump to the last place on the points table.
