British Home Secretary Yvette Cooper admitted that the UK government has a "complex arrangement" with China because of the need for economic cooperation, amid the exclusion of an alleged Chinese spy with links to Prince Andrew. 
The man was banned from Britain by the government on national security grounds and was invited to Andrew's birthday party and visited Buckingham Palace twice. 
The man also met David Cameron and Theresa May and kept pictures of his meetings with the two prime ministers on his office desk. However, both said that they do not recall meeting him.

When Cooper was asked about her message to China on BBC One's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, she said, "Well, we will continue to take a very strong approach to our national security; that includes any challenge to our national security, including to our economic security from China and from other countries around the world. That will always be the approach that we will take. Of course, with China, we also need to make sure we have that economic interaction and economic cooperation in place as well. So it’s a complex arrangement.”
Earlier on Friday, the Duke of York said that he had "ceased all contact" with the businessman when concerns were first raised about him. 
Andrew met the individual through "official channels”, with “nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed”, a statement from the prince's office read. 
The businessman, who is known only as H6, brought his case to the special immigration appeals commission (Siac), which upheld a ruling that he should be excluded from the UK.

Meanwhile, shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said that the instances of Chinese interferences that have been proven should be publicly exposed in order to keep the public and government vigilant. 
“This question of Chinese influence is not a new one. It’s been around for years, or even decades,” he told the BBC. 
“They’ve been systematically trying to infiltrate universities, to steal intellectual property businesses for the same reason, and also influence government institutions. We need to be super-vigilant and publicly expose Chinese infiltration where it happens. Everybody in academia, business, and government needs to be alert. If anyone has the slightest concern, they should contact the security services immediately," he added.

Atul Subhash's father on Saturday (Dec 15) pleaded for the custody of his grandson, saying that the family was worried about him.
This comes hours after Atul's estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha, and brother Anurag were arrested for allegedly abetting his suicide. 
The techie's father questioned where was Atul's four-year-old son and appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and others to ensure his grandson's custody. 
Meanwhile, he also thanked the Bengaluru Police for arresting the accused, further saying that he still has not received justice as a new case has been filed for maintenance in the name of his grandson. 
"We don't know where she has kept our grandson. Has he been killed, or is he alive? We don't know anything about him. I want my grandson to be with us," Atul's father said.

"Our biggest concern right now is that we don't know where my nephew (Atul Subhash's son) is. We couldn't find him in the photograph circulated by the police. We want to know where he is. I thank the Karnataka Police for arresting these three... Two other arrests are pending. I hope they will also be arrested soon...," Bikas Kumar Modi said. 
Earlier, three people were arrested in connection to the suicide case of Indian techie Atul Subhash, including his estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha, and brother Anurag for abetment to suicide.

The arrests were made days after the 34-year-old techie accused Nikita and her family of extortion and harassment in an over-an-hour-long video and died by suicide.
In the suicide note, Atul wrote in detail about the mental agony he went through because of his wife and in-laws. 
Nikita and her family were on the run since the video shot by Atul went viral.
The police had registered an FIR against the accused at the Marathahalli police. After Atul's wife Nikita went absconding, a notice was pasted by the Bengaluru Police outside her residence in Jaunpur city of Uttar Pradesh asking her to appear in the next three days.

Further, he accused the opposition parties of not believing in the Constitution. 
In the Maharashtra assembly polls, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance secured a decisive victory, winning 235 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single-largest party with 132 seats, while Shiv Sena won 57 and NCP secured 41 seats.

Maharashtra Cabinet: 39 Mahayuti ministers take oath in Nagpur in presence of CM Fadnavis

An inquiry commission appointed by the Bangladesh interim government said on Saturday (Dec 14) that ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina along with some high-ranking officials of her government were involved in the alleged incidents of enforced disappearances. 
The five-member Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances submitted an interim report titled "Unfolding Truth" to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus. 
In its report, the commission implicated Hasina's involvement in as many as 3,500 cases of enforced disappearances. 
"The commission has found evidence of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's involvement as the instructor in the incidents of enforced disappearances," the press wing of the office of Chief Adviser said in a statement. 
It added that the deposed premier's defence adviser, Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, former director general of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre Major General Ziaul Ahsan, senior police officers Monirul Islam and Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid, and several other senior officials were also found to be involved in those incidents.

The report presented evidence against the ousted Bangladesh PM, who fled the country during violent protests by the students in Dhaka. 
The report further claimed that many high-ranking officials, including former military and police personnel believed to be involved, fled from the country after the fall of Hasina's Awami League party on August 5. 
<h2>'Systematic design'</h2>
The commission told the interim government that the inquiries uncovered a "systematic design" that enabled incidents of enforced disappearances to occur unnoticed. 
According to the statement, retired Supreme Court judge Mainul Islam Chowdhury, the chairman of the commission, told Yunus, "Individuals carrying out enforced disappearance or extrajudicial killing (even) lacked knowledge about victims."

It added that the police's elite anti-crime Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), which includes personnel from the army, navy, air force, and regular police, have also collaborated to detain, torture, and hold the victims in secret families. In light of this, the commission advised the abolishment of the RAB and called for either repealing or significantly amending the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2009.
According to the rights activist and commission member Sajjad Hossain, 1,676 complaints of enforced disappearances have been recorded so far, and 758 of them have been examined. 
Moreover, out of these, 200 people, or 27 per cent of the victims, never returned. 
Earlier at a press conference, the commission announced that they had found eight secret detention centres in the capital Dhaka and its outskirts. 
<h2>'Need another year to complete inquiry'</h2>
The panel chairman told Yunus that they would share another interim report in March and would require at least another year to complete the scrutiny of all allegations they had received.
"You are doing a really very important job. We are ready to give you all kinds of support that you need," Yunus said, sharing support with the commission. 
The report also called for creating a new law criminalising enforced disappearances.

The company's first attempt ended in a mid-air explosion in March of this year and the second one on Saturday was postponed just minutes before the launch.
