Singh, a practicing Sikh who often pairs bright turbans with stylish suits, is a former criminal defense lawyer, in a sometimes tearful address to reporters on Wednesday told reporters he had been upset.

"I look back and I saw that MP not only say no, but make eye contact with me and just kind of brush his hand, dismiss it. And in that moment, I got angry. I'll be honest. I got angry. But I'm sad now. Because why can't we act? Why can't we do something to save people's lives? We can do something. And why would someone say no to that?," he said.

The Indian-origin NDP leader has more than once openly voiced his support for Sikh separatists in Canada, earning him the tag of being ‘pro-Khalistan’.

Experts believe that Trudeau is supporting him to take advantage of internal politics.

Many Canadian cities have been the sites of anti-racism rallies in recent weeks, on the heels of similar protests in the United States.

The Bloc said it had objected to Singh's motion because the House of Commons public safety committee was already studying systemic racism in the police.

Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-Francois Blanchet demanded Singh apologize for making what he called unwarranted accusations.

"It is important that we recognize when the only racialized leader in the House of Commons makes a statement like that, that it comes from a place that yes, will make people uncomfortable, but needs to be dealt with as we move forward as a country," Trudeau told reporters.

Trudeau has frequently said there is a need to address systemic racism in Canada.

Canada is a multicultural country, with more than 22 per cent&nbsp;of the population is made up of minorities and another 5&nbsp;per cent&nbsp;aboriginal, according to the latest census.

The diocese noted that Father Sergei continues to defy orders to perform ascetic prayers in a neighboring male monastery. Mother Superior Varvara and other abbesses voluntarily left the Sredneuralsk monastery “to avoid unnecessary infighting,” it added.

The diocese gave Father Sergei until the next ecclesiastical court date on June 26 to “rectify and repent” the situation.

Father Sergei helped found the Sredneuralsk Convent in the early 2000s, and hundreds of supporters have flocked there over the years to hear his sermons.

The takedown on Thursday came amid increasing&nbsp;pressure on Facebook&nbsp;from civil rights leaders, Democratic politicians, and the company’s own employees to take a stronger stance against the president’s ugly and at times violent and hateful rhetoric on the platform, though it is not the first time that Facebook has removed Trump campaign ads for violating policies.

"We removed these posts and ads for violating&nbsp;our policy&nbsp;against organized hate. Our policy prohibits using a banned hate group's symbol to identify political prisoners without the context that condemns or discusses the symbol," Andy Stone, a Facebook spokesperson said.

The company said the offending ad contained an inverted red triangle similar to that used by the Nazis to label opponents such as communists.

Trump's campaign team said they were aimed at the far-left activist group antifa, which it said uses the symbol.

A committee set up to fix rates to be charged by private hospitals in Delhi for isolation beds, ICUs with and without ventilator support for patients of the&nbsp;coronavirus disease has given its recommendation, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said on Friday.

The ministry of home affairs confirmed that following the orders of Shah,&nbsp;testing via Rapid Antigen testing methodology which has been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) was started in the city on Thursday. "7040 people have been tested in 193 testing Centres. Testing will continue with increased numbers in coming days," it tweeted.

"Sample testing has been doubled immediately in pursuance of decisions taken by HM&nbsp;@AmitShah&nbsp;in series of meetings. &nbsp;A total of testing samples of 27,263 have been collected in #Delhi from 15 to 17 June 2020 against the daily collection which varied between 4,000-4,500 earlier," the home ministry tweeted.

"As per the directions given by HM in a series of meetings chaired by him over last few days in regard to #COVID19 &nbsp;situation in Delhi, house to house health survey in 242 containment zones of Delhi completed yesterday. A total of 2.3 lakh people were surveyed," MHA further said.

Over the last few days, Shah has held a series of meetings with Delhi LG Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and high-level officials to sort out a strategy to contain the coronavirus outbreak in Delhi.&nbsp;

Delhi’s infection tally stands at 49,979 and 1,969 people have died due to the coronavirus disease so far.

For treatment in ICU, the hospitals have been directed to charge Rs 13,000 to Rs 15,000. If a patient is put on a ventilator, the charges would be Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000 for a single day. Raab admitted he did not know the broader history of the gesture, which has been used at demonstrations around the world to express solidarity in the fight against racial inequality.

He said he understood why some people took the knee, but said he would only do so ''for the Queen and my&nbsp;wife&nbsp;when I asked her to marry me”.

The pose, used in the past by Martin Luther King for prayer, was adopted as a secular protest against racism in 2016 and has spread widely since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last month as a way of showing support for Black Lives Matter movement and respect for those killed.

He has been ridiculed for incorrectly claiming it derived from hit TV series Game of Thrones, with critics calling his comments ''insulting and embarrassing''. Speaking in an interview, Raab accepted other people ''feel differently''&nbsp;and insisted he understood the ‘frustration’ felt by oppressed communities.
