The White House on Friday said that United States President Joe Biden had a cancerous skin lesion removed last month, during his routine health screening. The president in the beginning of February had a physical exam which the White House said found him healthy and "fit for duty".

According to Guardian, Biden's physician Kevin O'Connor in a letter released to the press said, "All cancerous tissue was successfully removed. The area around the biopsy site was treated presumptively with electrodessication and curettage at the time of the biopsy. No further treatment is required."

However, the 80-year-old fit president has healed nicely after the treatment and will continue dermatologic surveillance as a part of his healthcare, the doctor added.&nbsp;

The letter also mentioned that the type of cancer found — basal cell carcinoma — does not spread generally.&nbsp;

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said basal and squamous cell carcinoma are the two most common types of skin cancers in the US.&nbsp;

The US Skin Cancer Foundation said that almost 3.6 million Americans&nbsp;are diagnosed every year with basal, and it is one of the most frequently occurring forms of all cancers, BBC reported.&nbsp;

Biden had several non-melanoma skin cancers removed in the past before he became the president of the US.&nbsp;

Similarly, back in January, First Lady Jill Biden had three lesions removed, two of which later tested positive for basal cell carcinoma.&nbsp;

Doctors advise that the best way to prevent skin cancer is to cover up and wear sunscreen lotions, even during winters.&nbsp;

This comes as the president is all set to announce his run for the 2024 elections.

On Friday, at least 17 persons&nbsp;were killed and dozens injured after a massive blaze broke out at a state-run oil storage depot in Indonesia's capital, officials said.&nbsp; According to north Jakarta's fire department, 17 were killed, including two kids, and at least 50 were reported injured.&nbsp;Department's chief Satriadi Gunawan told AFP that many of those killed and injured suffered severe burns.

Local media showed footage of&nbsp;a raging inferno that caused workers to flee in panic and several others evacuated residential areas nearby&nbsp;the depot run by state energy firm Pertamina.

Later, the company&nbsp;in its statement said, that they are focused on handling the fire and evacuating workers and residents nearby to a safer location.

At least six were killed&nbsp;and five were hospitalised after a poisonous gas leak inside a coal mine in Pakistan's Balochistan on Friday. Rescue officials said workers died after the mine was filled with gas.&nbsp;

An&nbsp;official said that 11 workers were trapped in the mine when the poisonous gas leaked. Other coal miners called rescue workers and did their best to rescue their co-workers but six died due to the gas while&nbsp;five others were rescued and moved to Shahrag's basic health unit, reported news agency PTI.&nbsp;

It is just not coal mines incidents, workers in the province have also fallen prey to militant attacks.&nbsp;

Militant attacks in Pakistan are on the rise. Last week, four coal miners were killed and three were injured after unidentified armed militants attacked them at a mine.

A head-on train collision in Greece has killed 57&nbsp;people&nbsp;and injured several, officials said on Thursday as the search for victims continues for a second day. The passenger train, which was reportedly carrying 350 people from Athens to&nbsp;the northern city of Thessaloniki, collided with a freight train just before midnight&nbsp;near the town of Tempe as it was emerging from a highway underpass. Multiple cars of the train derailed, with at least three bursting into flames.&nbsp; 
 
Rescue teams installed floodlights at the spot and searched frantically through the twisted, smoking train wreckage for survivors.&nbsp;

As the sun rose, heavy machinery was brought in to move large pieces of the train.&nbsp;

According to officials, most of those travelling in the train were university students returning home after celebrating Carnival over the long weekend.

"This is a terrible tragedy that is hard to comprehend,"&nbsp;said Deputy Health Minister Mina Gaga. "I feel so sorry for the parents of these kids."

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be visiting the site later in the day.

Greek Railroad Workers Union President Yannis Nitsas said eight rail employees were among the dead, including the two drivers of the freight train and two of the passenger train.

Konstantinos Agorastos, governor of Thessaly region, told SKAI TV that a passenger train travelling from Athens to the northern city of Thessaloniki and a cargo train from Thessaloniki to Larissa collided outside the city of Larissa in central Greece.&nbsp;

"The collision was very strong," Agorastos said.&nbsp;

"This is a terrible night," Agorastos added. "It's hard to describe the scene."

Medical officials in Larrisa said at least 25 of those wounded are in serious condition.&nbsp;"The evacuation of passengers is under way in very difficult conditions given the severity of the collision of the two trains," fire brigade spokesperson Vassilis Varthakogiannis earlier said.

The governor said 250 passengers were evacuated safely by rescue officials to Thessaloniki on buses.

Rescue workers were seen carrying torches in carriages looking for trapped passengers.

A young man who was evacuated to a nearby bridge told SKAI TV that there was panic in the carriage as people were screaming.&nbsp;

Senior officials said the army has also&nbsp;been contacted for assistance in rescue operations.&nbsp;
