Teams are cut to a maximum of 80 staff, all in protective equipment, there will be no sponsors, no guests and only a limited number of accredited broadcast and written news media.

Journalists, limited to a dozen instead of 300 or more, have to pass a test within 72 hours in advance of arrival and will not be allowed to leave the media centre.&nbsp;

All interviews and news conferences will take place by video.

The teams will be kept isolated, based in tents with awnings instead of their usual grand motorhomes – and there is expected to be a synchronised taking the knee by the drivers on the grid, to support Black Lives Matter, ahead of Sunday's race.&nbsp;

Afterwards, there will be no podium ceremony.

When the race begins, it will end the longest gap between races in the sport since 1962, but with two successive races in Austria and then one in Hungary, the pressure will be immediate and intense.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner said: "There's been a long drought. We all do this because we love it. We've missed it, so we can't wait to start."

"It's going to be exciting and intense. The races come thick and fast."

Dutch driver Verstappen, who bullied his way past Ferrari rival Charles Leclerc to triumph in front of a mass of his "orange army" of fans last year, says he is unfazed by high expectations or the absence of spectators at the Red Bull Ring, a remote and compact circuit in the Styrian Alps.

"I am not thinking about a hat-trick," he said.

"The most important thing for me is to have a competitive car and to perform at my best.

"I never consider myself as a favourite because, actually, when you look at the track, it's not even our best one, but last year it was very warm and we were good at keeping the engine cool.

"So I don't expect an easy win – I think Mercedes will be very strong again and they are the ones to beat."

Australia on Thursday announced plans to ditch the English Dukes ball in domestic cricket and revert to using only the traditional Kookaburra for the next Sheffield Shield season.

Cricket Australia introduced the Dukes ball in 2016 and they were used in the second half of each Shield season to try to accustom players to conditions in England, where Australian batsmen had often struggled.

Dukes balls tend to have a more pronounced seam, enabling them swing further and for longer when new than the Australian-made Kookaburras.

Cricket Australia's head of operations Peter Roach said reverting to the Kookaburra was the right move at this time.

"The introduction of the Dukes ball has been a worthwhile exercise, particularly in the lead-up to overseas Ashes series where the Dukes is used so well by our English opponents," he said.

"We have been happy with how the ball has performed when used in Australian conditions over the past four seasons.&nbsp;

"We do, however, feel that reverting to one ball for 2020-21 will provide the consistent examination of our players over a full season that (Cricket Australia) and the states are presently seeking," he added.&nbsp;&nbsp;

While England continue to use Dukes, the Kookaburra is used for Tests in many other parts of the world and widely in limited-overs cricket.

Roach said Cricket Australia could consider reintroducing Dukes balls closer to the next Ashes series in England, which is due to take place in 2023.

South Korean triathlete Choi Suk-Hyeon, took her own life after ending physical and verbal abuse from the coaching staff for years. Her complaints were also allegedly ignored by the sporting authorities, as per reports.&nbsp;

Choi, 22, who bagged a bronze in the junior women’s event at the 2015 Asian triathlon championships in Taipei, reportedly died in team dormitory in Busan in the month of June. As per the widely circulated screenshots of her final text message conversation with her mother, Choi begged her to “lay bare the sins” of her abusers.

In the highly-competitive society, winning means everything to the South Korean sports community and physical and verbal abuse have become normalcy.&nbsp;

Choi, who came fourth in the 2016 national championships elite women division, failed to fulfil her promise as she dropped to 14th in the same contest in 2019.

Once she wrote in her journal: "It was raining today and I was beaten so bad... I am shedding tears every day."&nbsp;

A sentence from Choi’s journal is enough to send shivers down the spine. As per multiple reports in South Korean media, Choi compiled audio recordings of physical abuse she was subjected to by the coaching staff.

As per one broadcast by the cable news station YTN, her coach was absolutely fuming after she put on some weight: "You have to avoid eating for three days," he said. "You promised me you would take responsibility." Then he told her: "Clench your teeth," followed by the sound of a sharp slap.

The reports say, team officials used to force her to eat $166 worth of bread as punishment for failing weight control and repeatedly beat her.&nbsp;

Choi had put on a complaint to the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee (KSOC) in April seeking an investigation. However, as per Yonhap, “everyone ignored her pleas” even after she “sought help from many public institutions”.

KSOC denied the allegations by stating that it had assigned a female investigator after receiving Choi’s plea in April. &nbsp;It promised to take "stern measures" against those involved, expressing "profound regret" over the incident and saying that prosecutors were now looking into the case.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in called for “thorough measures” to prevent such cases in future while saying it was a problem that Choi’s complaint didn’t receive a proper response.

In 2018, double Olympic gold medalist Shim Suk-Hee went public and accused her former coach of sexually molesting and physically abusing her multiple times. The coach was jailed for 10 months.

As per multiple reports in South Korean media, Choi compiled audio recordings of physical abuse she was subjected to by the coaching staff. The reports say, team officials used to force her to eat $166 worth of bread as punishment for failing weight control and repeatedly beat her. Choi had put on a complaint to the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee (KSOC) in April seeking an investigation. However, as per Yonhap, “everyone ignored her pleas” even after she “sought help from many public institutions”. KSOC denied the allegations by stating that it had assigned a female investigator after receiving Choi’s plea in April. It promised to take "stern measures" against those involved, expressing "profound regret" over the incident and saying that prosecutors were now looking into the case. South Korean President Moon Jae-in called for “thorough measures” to prevent such cases in future while saying it was a problem that Choi’s complaint didn’t receive a proper response. In 2018, double Olympic gold medalist Shim Suk-Hee went public and accused her former coach of sexually molesting and physically abusing her multiple times. The coach was jailed for 10 months. The increased crowd for the match represented a loosening of Denmark's earlier coronavirus rules limiting attendance at a football match to 500 with a minimum distance between them of two metres.

On Tuesday, the Danish government said it would allow 500 fans into each &nbsp;section of the stadium and that would have to keep one metre apart.&nbsp;

American Chad Campbell is the sixth US PGA Tour player to test positive for COVID-19 as the tour heads into the fourth week of its restart after a three-month shutdown.

The tour said in a statement that Campbell had withdrawn from this week's Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, where he was the first alternate, after he tested positive as part of the pre-tournament screening process.

Campbell, a four-time tour winner, missed the cut at the first tournament since the coronavirus shutdown ended at Colonial three weeks ago and hadn't played since.

He will now enter self-isolation per tour guidelines and must be cleared medically before he can compete again.

"While the positive test result is unnerving, I am incredibly grateful to be asymptomatic and feel physically well, and my thoughts are with anyone dealing with COVID, directly or indirectly," Campbell said in a statement released through the tour.

On Monday, American Harris English tested positive and withdrew from the Detroit tournament.

Like Campbell, English did not play last week in Connecticut.

South African Dylan Frittelli is also in self-isolation after testing positive for the coronavirus, before he was to have flown Sunday on a PGA player charger to Detroit from the Travelers Championship.

Nick Watney was the first PGA Tour player to test positive since the restart at the Heritage tournament two weeks ago. Fellow Americans Cameron Champ and Denny McCarthy tested positive last week at Connecticut, where two caddies also tested positive.

The PGA Tour also announced on Wednesday that three players on the developmental Korn Ferry Tour tested positive prior to this week's TPC Colorado Championship.

<a href="https://www.wionews.com/topics/premier-league">Premier League</a> CEO Richard Masters defended players’ and clubs’ collective decision to support the Black Lives Matter movement on Tuesday, describing it as a moral cause and not a political one.

When the league restarted this month after a three-month stoppage due to the coronavirus pandemic, all players had “Black Lives Matter” on their shirts instead of their names in the opening round of games and they have continued to take a knee before kick-off in support of BLM.

At a hearing of the British parliament’s Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, Conservative MP Steve Brine said the the league’s support for the movement appeared to mark a shift from its previous opposition to political messages in the sport.

He highlighted previous cases of politics in English football such as when Arsenal distanced themselves from Mesut Ozil’s support for the Uighur Muslim population in China and when the league fined Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for wearing a yellow ribbon in support of Catalan independence campaigners.

“How did we get from Ozil and Pep to Black Lives Matter, and can the Premier League players and managers now be assured that anything goes if they have a cause that they feel strongly about and the Premier League will not take action against them?” he asked Masters.

“I think we are living in unprecedented times,” Masters replied.

“Players are used to being the message board for other people’s messages and on this occasion they wanted to make two very clear statements as players, supported by the Premier League and the clubs: Thanking the NHS..and also recognising the issues that are going around the world and the support of the sentiment of Black Lives Matter,” he said.

“We listened and are happy to support them.

“I don’t think it sets any particular precedent. I think it is perfectly possible to support Black Lives Matter the sentiment without being seen to support any political organisation,” he said.

“We are an apolitical organisation - we don’t support political organisations.”

Masters said “all players” had backed the campaign, but he added that there would be a high bar for any future initatives which would have to be agreed upon.

“We are drawing a clear distinction between a moral cause and a political movement or agenda. Whilst there may be a difficulty sometimes, dividing the two, our position is clear: Politics no, moral causes yes - when agreed,” he said.

Masters said if players got involved in political messaging on the field without agreement they would remain in breach of regulations and could face fines.

Labour MP Julie Elliott said she was concerned about Masters’ explanation.

“I think you are opening up a can of worms by how you have responded to those questions,” she said.

Masters reiterated that the decision to back BLM was a collective one, saying it had come out of conference call discussions with the captains of the Premier League clubs, and did not set a precedent.

“This is all players coming together...it is a firm position from all players,” he said.

“It doesn’t mean that whenever players on an individual (or) collective basis want to do something that the Premier League and clubs will be duty-bound to support it.”
