The Mathura district court in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in India passed an order on Saturday in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah case, asking the authorities to survey the disputed site. The Mathura local court sought the survey report on January 20, 2023.

The case is related to the Krishna Janmasthan Temple Complex, which is a group of Hindu temples in Mathura, a popular city in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The complex is adjacent to the Shahi Eidgah mosque built by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

The order, which is on the same lines as a Varanasi court that ordered a videographic survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid, was issued by the court while hearing the petition of Hindu Sena.

The agreement between Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sangh vs Shahi Masjid Eidgah in the year 1968 was also challenged in the petition.

The counsel said: "The learned judge had ordered Amin (term used to refer to a revenue department official) on December 8 to inform both the parties and submit a survey report on the next hearing."

Notably, the Shahi Eidgah mosque in Mathura comes under the purview of the Places of Worship Act, of 1991.

The law says, "An Act to prohibit conversion of any place of worship and to provide for the maintenance of the religious character of any place of worship as it existed on the 15th day of August 1947, and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto."

England's star cricketer Joe Root was bought by Rajasthan Royals (RR) during IPL 2023 auction on Friday (December 23). He was picked during the accelerated auction after he went unsold initially.

With above-average stats in the T20I format as his team might expect him to replicate similar performances. He has played 32 games and has scored 893 runs at an average of 35.72. He has also scored five fifties in the shortest format of cricket.

During a recent interview with Daily Mail, Root talked about IPL 2013 and the mini-auction. He said, "I would certainly debate going into the IPL draw quite seriously and hope to get exposure in that tournament. It would be great to get involved in the continuous enormity of each game and how much it means.
Cameron is a fearsome batter and is also known for his outswing. He was picked as a pacer for Western Australia. He was impressive during India vs Australia series before the T20 World Cup, especially in the third match of the series when he hit the joint-second fastest fifty for Australia in Hyderabad. It was also the fastest T20I fifty smashed against India.

During his conversation, he also said, "I think joining such a great team in Mumbai, we obviously got such a history, all the past players that have played for them, and how great they are and how good the team is at the moment. I think you can look through all the players, playing with them, Rohit, Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav to name a few."

"We've got so much talent that you can learn off them and improve your own game. I loved my time in India for the two weeks then, so I'm happy I'm going to come back and be playing with the Mumbai Indians," Green added.

The travel and tourism sector was one of the most impacted during the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) waves, which wreaked havoc globally after the first case was reported in China in late 2019. The industry faced unprecedented economic challenges because of the temporary drop in business activities.

Governments around the world launched mass vaccine programmes to fight the Covid virus. As the fear of Covid started to subside, people began getting back to normal life. Slowly and gradually, global tourism is bouncing back, with more and more people spending time on travel.

When it comes to India, the travel industry also picked up a pace as according to the Amex Trendex, which is a trend report from American Express, consumers celebrated, shopped, and travelled more thoughtfully this year.

The report, published in October, stated that Covid variants last year disrupted the long-awaited plans of many consumers. More than half (52%) of consumers had plans cancelled last holiday season.

The report mentioned that 8 in 10 (87%) Indian consumers agree that they are thinking about starting or restarting the tradition of travelling during the holiday season because they want to spend more quality time with loved ones.

Indian consumers also gave thought to support the local economy as 6-in-10 respondents are planning on spending more at small businesses this holiday season compared to 2021.

Sanjay Khanna, the CEO of American Express Banking Corp India, said, "We see two strong shifts in the Indian consumer’s spending patterns this holiday season. One, there is higher indulgence in experiences they would like to share with family and friends and two, there is a shift towards more thoughtful gifting like sustainable products from local brands, thereby supporting smaller entrepreneurs or local shop owners."

The report mentioned that highest amongst all the surveyed countries, 75% of Indian respondents want to plan a holiday event for family and/or friends this holiday season.

It further mentioned that 82% of Indian adults and 83% of Indian GenZers and Millennials are planning to celebrate the holiday season with family. Around 67% of Indian respondents want to attend cultural events including holidays, parades, and festivals this holiday season.

The report also mentioned that online shopping, digital payments and earning while spending is quite popular with Indian consumers as 9 out of 10 agree that they are more likely to shop online if free shipping and free returns are given as an option. The report mentioned that around 88% agree that they want to earn credit card rewards for online purchases this holiday season.
