Wildlife experts in Australia recently discovered the largest male specimen of the most venomous spider in the world. The arachnid, named Hercules, which measured 7.9 cm (3.11 inches) is the biggest male funnel-web spider. It has been given to the Australian Reptile Park, said officials with the interactive zoo which is based in Somersby on Australia's Central Coast.

In a video shared on its Facebook page, park spider keeper Emmi Teni said that she had earlier thought that the spider was female.

"But upon closer inspection, he is definitely a male and has some the biggest fangs I've ever seen," said Teni. As per the park officials, males are generally much smaller in comparison to females.

This deadly Sydney funnel-web spider was first discovered on the Central Coast, nearly 80km north of Sydney, and was initially admitted in a local hospital, said the Australian Reptile Park, in a statement.

After remaining a mystery for years, scientists have finally discovered how diamonds emerge from the surface of the Earth.

Diamonds get created in the upper mantle of the Earth's crust and if they do not shoot to the surface, which is called kimberlite eruptions, humans won't be able to find them.

The eruption is a mixture of water, rock, carbon dioxide and many important kimberlite materials – which include diamonds – reaching the surface in what is also called a 'fountain of diamonds' and can travel up to 83 miles per hour.

For a long time it has been a mystery what leads to such a 'fountain of diamonds and scientists from the University of Southampton, UK have finally got an answer.

After conducting research, the scientists concluded that the eruptions occur because of a major geological event in which tectonic plates get pulled apart.

Speaking about the findings, professor of Earth and Climate Science at the University of Southampton Thomas Gernon said that they are aiming to find new and unexplored diamond deposits.

In a new revelation, the researchers have found that the true colours of Neptune and Uranus are very similar and not starkly different as was believed earlier.

NASA’s Voyager 2 mission, which had carried out flybys of Uranus in 1986 and Neptune in 1989, was able to capture the first detailed images of the two ice giants in our solar system. Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft which has flow near both planets.

In the image captured, Uranus had a pale cyan colour and Neptune was seen having a striking deep blue colour. The images of each planet were captured by Voyager 2 in separate colors and the researchers combined single-colour images to create composites. Meanwhile, Neptune's images were enhanced to display the white clouds and winds in the atmosphere of the planet.

Speaking about the research, the first author of the study at the University of Oxford Prof Patrick Irwin said, "Uranus is still bland and rather boring looking, but Neptune looks fairly washed-out as well when you do the full true colour reconstruction."

'Most accurate representation of planets'

It has been known for long that the colour of the ice giants is a result of the high amount of methane present in the atmosphere of the planet. Methane is known to absorb green and red light. It was previously suggested in research by Irwin and colleagues that Neptune was slightly bluer in comparison to Uranus because the aerosol present in one of the layers of its atmosphere was more transparent.

However, the images of the planets, which were created from data collected during flybys conducted by the NASA Voyager 2 spacecraft in the 1980s, have created a misconception about the true colours of the planets. In those images, Neptune has been depicted as being deep blue since the images were contrast-enhanced to highlight its fainter features.

"Although the familiar Voyager 2 images of Uranus were published in a form closer to 'true' colour, those of Neptune were, in fact, stretched and enhanced, and therefore made artificially too blue. Even though the artificially-saturated colour was known at the time among planetary scientists—and the images were released with captions explaining it—that distinction had become lost over time. Applying our model to the original data, we have been able to reconstitute the most accurate representation yet of the colour of both Neptune and Uranus," said Professor Irwin.

UK royal Prince Andrew groped Epstein accuser, reveal court documents

Court documents with names of people linked to sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein were made public Wednesday (Jan 3). Former US president Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew – a member of the UK's royal family, as well as musician Michael Jackson and famed magician David Copperfield emerged as some of the big names.
A New York federal judge had earlier given orders for the release of the files as part of a lawsuit linked to Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell. She has been serving a 20-year jail prison sentence for crimes which she allegedly committed along with Epstein.

More than 150 names related to disgraced financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein started getting revealed on Wednesday (Jan 3) as part of a settled lawsuit between Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell and alleged survivor Virginia Giuffre.

The big names which emerged in the controversial documents included former US President Bill Clinton, Britain's Prince Andrew, scientist Stephen Hawking and others.

In a ruling made earlier this month, US District Judge Loretta Preska claimed that there was no legal basis to maintain confidentiality related to the names of individuals.
Maxwell was also accused by Giuffre of defaming her by denying the claims made by her of sexual trafficking and abuse, which she faced as a minor during 1999-2002, publicly.

Even though Virginia Giuffre did not accuse Clinton of any wrongdoings, she said that she saw him spending time with two young women on Epstein's island, which he claimed to have never visited.

Even though Clinton denied visiting the island, the flight records show that he was using Epstein's plane for visiting places like Paris, Bangkok, and Brunei after his presidency ended

As per the records, another survivor Johanna Sjoberg had testified that Epstein had shared with her Bill Clinton "likes them young," while making reference to girls. Clinton also was in a relationship with a 22-year-old White House intern while he was serving as the US president.
