The Union home minister took to his official X handle and said that it was extremely shameful to see that the Congress party was asking the people "Kashmir se kya waasta hai?" (What's the deal with Kashmir?)&nbsp;

"I would like to remind the Congress party that J&amp;K is an integral part of India, and every state and citizen has the right over J&amp;K, just as the people of J&amp;K have the right over the rest of India. The Congress doesn't know that many brave sons of Rajasthan have sacrificed their lives for peace and security in Kashmir. But it is not merely the fault of the Congress leaders. It is mostly the Italian culture of the Congress party that is to blame for not understanding the very idea of India. Such statements hurt every patriotic citizen who cares for the unity and integrity of the nation. People will certainly answer Congress," he said on X.

"And for the kind information of the Congress, it was not Article 371, but Article 370, that was abrogated by the Modi government. However, it is only expected of Congress to make such horrendous mistakes. Such blunders made by it have haunted our nation for decades now," Shah added.

Kharge on Saturday had slammed&nbsp;Prime Minister Narendra Modi for mentioning Article 370 abrogation in Rajasthan's Churu.&nbsp;He said, "They (BJP) are coming here and saying that they removed 371. What does it have to do with the people here? It's okay if you go and speak about that in Jammu and Kashmir."

They tried to block the A12 highway, which in recent months has been blocked multiple times by the demonstrators who demanded an end to fossil fuel subsidies.

Previously during protests, the police detained activists in another part of town, who were released without further consequences.

XR environmental group released a statement saying, "Meanwhile the ecological crisis continues to rage and the country's outgoing cabinet pretends that we have all the time in the world, while the crisis is now."

According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reports, second-year university student Liu strongly believed that all the women in his class fancied him.

With the passage of time, as his condition worsened, he started exhibiting "bold displays of love" in an inappropriate manner for his fellow female classmates.

The symptoms of this rare condition were detected in Liu in Feb 2024 and have deteriorated since then, reported SCMP.

Hailing from eastern China's Jiangsu province, Liu told Dr Lu Zhenjiao from Huai’an No. 3 People’s Hospital that "all the girls in school like me," as per SCMP.

The doctor revealed that Liu thought he was the "best-looking guy in the whole university".

“He (Liu) has brought much trouble to many of his schoolmates,” he added.

The outlet said that the women in his class refused his advances, but he still thought they were too shy to accept his affection.

He said that people suffering from the condition experience sleep loss and also get hyper.

“In more extreme cases, patients can become enraged and attack people,” Lu said as per SCMP.&nbsp;

Chinese man diagnosed with delusional love disorder; 'all women in school like me'

Palestinian militant group Hamas on Saturday (Apr 6) released a statement saying that it has refused to "back down" from its demands for a Gaza truce deal.

However, it said that it would send its delegation for renewed talks on a ceasefire in Egypt's Cairo over the weekend.

"Hamas confirms its adherence to the position it presented on March 14 ... and we will not back down from this position," it said in a statement.

The group further reiterated its set of demands.

"This basic fact remains true: There would be a ceasefire in Gaza today had Hamas simply agreed to release this vulnerable category of hostages – the sick, wounded, elderly, and young women," the senior Biden official said.

"The onus is on Hamas to release the hostages and bring relief to the people of Gaza through a prolonged ceasefire," the official said. &nbsp;

Hamas says will not ‘back down’ on demands for Gaza truce deal

The Israeli military on Saturday (Apr 6) said that its army personnel recovered the body of a hostage who was held captive by Hamas when it launched an unprecedented assault against Israel on October 7 last year.

The troops said that the hostage was killed in captivity in the war-torn Gaza Strip.

Identified as Elad Katzir, the victim was a 47-year-old farmer from Kibbutz Nir Oz who was dragged into the besieged Palestinian enclave along with 253 others during the October 7 cross-border firing by the Hamas militant group after which Israel launched its ongoing counter-offensive in Gaza.

The recovery of Katzir's body brings the number of killed hostages to 12 which the military says it has brought home from Gaza during the war.

The Israeli army released a statement saying that "the body of the abductee Elad Katzir, who according to intelligence was murdered in captivity by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organisation, was rescued overnight from Khan Yunis and returned to Israeli territory".

Katzir was abducted along with his mother Hanna at the time of the attack.

Hanna was released on Nov 24 during a one-week truce during the war in Gaza.&nbsp;

The officials said that following the suggestions shared by the Israeli intelligence, the troops reached the site and "began excavation" work to recover Katzir's body.

"Their efforts resulted in the discovery of the body, which was then transported to Israel for further examination," he said.&nbsp;

Israeli troops recover body of hostage from Gaza’s Khan Younis, military says

Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Atishi on Saturday (Apr 6) hit out at the Enforcement Directorate stating that the probe agency has established no money trail in the Delhi excise policy scam probe, yet it arrested AAP leaders on the basis of mere doubt.

She then asked the ED to take stern action against BJP leaders over alleged money laundering.

The Delhi minister also accused the BJP of filing false cases against AAP through central agencies like ED, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and the Income Tax and Election Commission.

Her remarks come following a showcause notice sent by the Election Commission on Friday (Apr 5) over her claims where she alleged that the BJP, through one of her close aides, approached her to join the saffron party or else be ready to be arrested by ED within a month.

"ED has been investigating the money trail in this so-called liquor scam. ED is still investigating the money trail linked to any leader of AAP, but they didn't get a single penny of proceeds from crime from any AAP leader," Aishi said during a presser on Saturday.

"The Supreme Court has continuously asked ED, where is the money trail linked to AAP?... But ED has no answer for this. Justice Sanjiv Khanna says the money trail has not been proven, it's debatable. But many AAP leaders have been arrested under this case even after no money trail," she said.

Following a shocking incident where an American tourist was mauled to death by an elephant while on a safari in Africa, her son has come out in support of the animal.

Recently, Gail Mattson, an 80-year-old woman from Minnesota, succumbed to critical injuries after being attacked by an elephant in the Kafue National Park in Zambia.

Her son, Blake Vetter said that he would neither hold the animal nor the driver responsible for his mother's death and that his mon would be the first to defend the driver and the elephant had she been alive.

"She was really looking forward to this, and she also knew there were risks and that anytime something could happen," Vetter told Daily Mail.

"People want to blame the elephant and the driver. It's awful how people don't know what's going on. The elephant was being an elephant. My mom would be the first to defend the driver and the elephant,” he added.

US tourist succumbs to injuries after elephant attack in Africa, son defends animal

In a significant development, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued 27 Bangladeshi fishermen aboard a boat that drifted inside Indian waters,&nbsp;officials said on Friday (Apr 5).

The swift operation took place on Thursday (Apr 4) after the ICG spotted the fishing boat (BFB) Sagar II, adrift inside Indian waters&nbsp;during a patrol at Indo-Bangladesh International Maritime Border Line (IMBL).&nbsp;

During the probe it was revealed that the boat's steering gear suffered a breakdown, leaving the fishermen stranded at the sea.

''At about 1130 hrs on April 4, Indian Coast Guard Ship 'Amogh' during a patrol at Indo-Bangladesh International Maritime Border Line (IMBL) sighted a Bangladeshi fishing boat (BFB) 'Sagar II' adrift inside Indian waters,'' the ICG said in a statement.

"The boat had a steering gear breakdown for the last two days and had been adrift since then which led to the boat drifting inside Indian waters'', it added.

The Indian Coast Guard's technical team attempted to determine and fix the defect, however, the team observed that the rudder of the boat was "completely damaged" and that its repair could not be done at sea.

''The operation reflects the commitment of the Indian Coast Guard towards safeguarding precious lives at sea against all odds. Such successful search and rescue (SAR) operations will not only strengthen the regional SAR structure but also enhance international cooperation with neighbouring countries. This is in keeping with the motto of the Indian Coast Guard 'Vayam Rakshamah' which means 'We Protect','' it added.

Indian Coast Guard rescues 27 Bangladeshi fishermen during patrol

India on Friday removed export curbs on specified quantities of certain commodities like eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, and dal for Maldives in the current fiscal year. 
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in a notification said these exports have been permitted to Maldives under the bilateral trade agreement between countries during 2024-25.

"Export of eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, dal, stone aggregate and river sand has been permitted to the Maldives... The export of these items to Maldives will be exempted from any existing or future restriction/prohibition on export," the DGFT said.

In general, there is either a restriction or prohibition on exports of these goods.

The specified quantity allowed includes potatoes (21,513.08 tonnes), onions (35,749.13 tonnes), rice (1,24,218.36 tonnes), wheat flour (1,09,162.96 tonnes), sugar (64,494.33 tonnes), dal (224.48 tonnes), stone aggregate (one million tonnes) and river sand (one million tonnes).

It said that for the exports of river sand and stone aggregate, CAPEXIL (a body to promote the export of chemical and allied products) will ensure that the suppliers/extractors have obtained appropriate clearances and mining of the sand is not undertaken in the coastal regulation zone area, which is prohibited under the coastal regulation zone notification.

Exporters have to obtain necessary environmental clearances from the designated nodal authority of respective state governments from where sand is obtained.

Through a post on social media platform X, the Indian High Commissioner said that this was being done "under a unique bilateral mechanism" under which the quotas for each of these items have been revised upwards.

"The approved quantities are the highest since this arrangement came into effect in 1981," the notice by the mission said.

The announcement comes amid a diplomatic row between the two countries since November last year when President Mohamed Muizzu, known for his pro-China leanings, took the oath, and within hours demanded India to repatriate its 88 military personnel from his country.

The relations further deteriorated when three Maldivian officials made crass comments after Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted photos and videos of the Lakshadweep Islands, resulting in a heavy backlash from Indians, including many celebrities. #BoycottMaldives campaign resulted in a significant decline in Indian tourists to the island nation too.

The 1981 India and Maldives trade agreement provides for the export of essential commodities.

"India emerged as Maldives' second largest trade partner in 2022 and the largest in 2023. Indian imports from the Maldives primarily comprise scrap metals, while Indian exports to the Maldives include a variety of engineering and industrial products like drugs and pharmaceuticals, radar apparatus, rock boulders, aggregates, cement and agricultural produce, such as rice, spices, fruits, vegetables and poultry produce etc," the notice said.

According to Friday's announcement, there has also been an increase of 5 per cent in the quotas for eggs, potatoes, onions, sugar, rice, wheat flour and dal (pulses).

Last year too, India continued the export of rice, sugar and onions to the Maldives despite a worldwide ban on export of these items from India.

"India remains strongly committed to supporting human-centric development in the Maldives, as part of its Neighbourhood First policy," it noted.

The quota for river sand and stone aggregates, crucial items for the booming construction industry in the Maldives, has been increased by 25 per cent to 10,00,000 MT each, it added.

Surrounded by the ocean, the islands in the Maldives and the many atolls don't have enough river sand to support their construction industry, hence the need for importing sand and stone aggregates to the country.

The bilateral trade between the two countries has increased to USD 973.37 million in 2022-23 from about USD 740 million in 2021-22.

India steps up supply of essential commodities to Maldives in FY25

An Indian-origin man has sued a temple in the United States for&nbsp;$1 million in damages over branding his son with a hot iron rod as part of a religious ceremony last year.

Vijay Cheruvu, a resident of Texas' Fort Bend County alleged that his 11-year-old son was branded with a hot iron rod during a religious ceremony at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Hindu temple in Sugarland, Texas in August 2023.

The lawsuit filed in Fort Bend County stated that the boy suffered excruciating pain and permanent disfigurement.

Cheruvu is seeking over $1 million in damages in the lawsuit against the temple and its parent firm, Jeeyar Educational Trust (JET) USA, Inc.

“I was shocked. I didn’t know how to handle it. My primary concern is for my son’s well-being,” Cheruvu said at a press conference here.

He stated that the temple branded his son on his shoulder in the shape of the Hindu god, Vishnu.

The lawsuit alleges that more than 100 people took part in the religious ceremony at the Ashtalakshmi Temple at Synott Road in Sugar Land in August 2023, out of which, three participants were children, including Cheruvu's son.

Cheruvu's attorney, Brant Stogner, claimed that the boy, who was branded in both shoulders, suffered severe pain and permanent disfigurement and also developed an infection because of it.

The 11-year-old went to the temple along with his mother to attend the ceremony and was branded with the iron rod against his will and without the consent of his father, said Stogner.

He further said that branding, tattooing or scarring a child is illegal in Texas even with parental consent.

"This is happening basically in our backyard over here, so that's the reason we filed the lawsuit," Stogner said.

"We want to make sure our community is aware of this and want to make sure it doesn't happen to anybody else, anybody else's child or any child at all."

The child was not identified, however, the attorney read out an impact statement from him.

"I was so surprised. I did not know that anything was going to happen like this. I was shocked when they did it on my shoulder and it hurt so much that I almost cried," he said in part.

"They knew what they did was very wrong because they told me to keep it secret from everyone else. But I had to tell my dad when the pain got worse and it became infected," he added.

Cheruvu claimed that his son was taken to the temple by his ex-wife and&nbsp;was branded with the iron rod but the mother was not.

"He goes to see a therapist. He’s so deeply scarred, mentally scarred, and then there’s all the pain," said the father.

India's Election Commission (EC) on Friday (Apr 5) sent a notice to the Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi after she alleged that the BJP, through one of her close aides, approached her to join the saffron party.

She also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party threatened her with arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) if she failed to do so.

The EC has asked the Delhi Minister to respond to the notice by Monday (Apr 8) at noon.

"Criticism of other political parties, when made, shall be confined to their policies and programme, past record and work. Parties and Candidates shall refrain from criticism of all aspects of private life, not connected with the public activities of the leaders or workers of other parties. Criticism of other parties or their workers based on unverified allegations or distortion shall be avoided," the notice by the EC read.

"The political parties and leaders shall not make false statements, utterances without factual basis aimed at misleading the voters. Criticism of other parties or their workers on the basis of unverified allegations or on distortions shall be avoided," it added.

The poll panel, in its notice, also added that it received a complaint on April 4 from the BJP that Atishi made "misleading and unverified statements" during her press conference on April 2.

Atishi a day after declaring that she would make an explosive expose, on Tuesday (Apr 2) accused BJP of trying to coerce her into joining them or face arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

<h2>BJP slams Atishi over accusations</h2>

Following Atishi's allegations, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa accused AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal of fooling her.

"No one except Arvind Kejriwal has fooled you. He has destroyed several lives before her," said Sirsa in a video statement.

He also challenged Atishi to reveal the name of the close aide.&nbsp;

"Atishi claims that he has gotten a message. She should reveal the name of her close aide so that the ED can arrest him," said&nbsp;Sirsa.

The BJP leader stated that his party would not accept a corrupt leader like Atishi "and will not allow her to even walk outside its office".

He also hinted at a power struggle within the AAP, suggesting that Kejriwal wants to put them in jail instead of making them Chief Minister.&nbsp;

"When Arvind Kejriwal gave their names to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), they felt that they are the next in line because Kejriwal has given them away."
