Pakistani military told country's media to stop Imran Khan's coverage: Report

Artificial Intelligence has taken over the world by storm. While concerns related to the threat it poses to humanity have been asserted by AI pioneers and industry leaders themselves, the general meme consumer on the internet has taken its arrival a few notches down.

That's how people have been putting things (and other people out there) in the ways they want to see them. Whether it's the depiction of top Hollywood actors as Indian monks or in this case, Elon Musk enjoying his heart out at an Indian wedding.

The Twitter owner recently reacted to images of himself created using Midjourney generative artificial intelligence program in which he is seen donning a traditional Indian Sherwani and smiling his way into what appears to be a desi wedding.

The illustration showed billionaire business magnate donning a beige-coloured kurta with golden embroidery studded with a designer red dupatta and a sherwani. If that wasn't enough, the 51-year-old is also shown with henna on his hand.

Doom for humanity? AI-enabled military drone 'kills' its own operator in simulation

Scientists have discovered 62 new species of plants that can potentially survive without water due to their capability to withstand extreme dehydration. These plants, Desiccation-Tolerant Vascular Species, are capable of surviving extreme water scarcity as they enter a state of dormancy when water is unavailable.

Plants that survive without water: What India's government said?

India's Ministry of Science and Technology said that, DT (Desiccation-Tolerant) plants have been relatively understudied. While rock outcrops are common landscapes in the Western Ghats (WG), the DT plants in the region were not officially discovered.

Who discovered these plants?

The discovery was made by a team of researchers from Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) Pune. A total of 16 of the newly identified species are Indian endemic, and 12 are exclusive to the Western Ghats outcrops.

The team led by Dr Mandar Datar, analysed the outcrop species for their DT properties by seasonal field observations, followed by relative water content estimation protocols. Nine genera of DT plants are reported as new, also from a global perspective, with Tripogon capillatus representing the first record of an epiphytic DT angiosperm.

Meta's latest tests on its social media platforms Facebook and Instagram will limit some users and publishers from viewing or sharing some news content in Canada. While the specific timeline for the supposed testing has not been shared, Meta Platforms Inc. said that the testing period will run several weeks. The minor percentage of Canadian users enrolled in testing will be notified if they attempt to share news content.
Pakistani-origin Canadian businessman and terror suspect Tahawwur Rana has filed a plea challenging a recent US court order that approved his extradition to India where he is facing trial for his involvement in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks that led to the killing of 166 people, including six Americans.

Rana's lawyers have argued that his extradition would violate the United States-India extradition treaty in multiple aspects. They say Rana has been tried and acquitted in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on charges of similar conduct for which India seeks to prosecute him.

They've argued that extradition is therefore barred under Article 6(1) of the Treaty, which declares that "[e]xtradition shall not be granted when the person sought has been convicted or acquitted in the Requested State for the offence for which extradition is requested."
