<p>The rover discovered a striking light-coloured boulder that stood out among the dark rocks in its proximity while traversing Neretva Vallis on Mars, a region that was once an ancient river channel feeding into the Jezero crater.</p>

<p>Relentless torrential rainfall has triggered severe flooding in the northeast Indian state of Assam, affecting over 105,000 people across 14 districts as the mighty Brahmaputra river overflows. Karimganj district is the hardest hit, with nearly 96,000 residents affected, reports said citing Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nearly 5,000 people are affected in the Nagaon district while over 3,600 residents suffer in Dhemaji.&nbsp;ASDMA's revealed that the floods have also impacted people in Baksa, Barpeta, Darrang, Karimganj, Goalpara and Nalbari districts.</p>

<p>The situation has gotten worse from the last few days when earlier only nearly 6,000 people across four districts were reported to be affected.</p>

<p>The symbiotic star, located in the Sagitta constellation, comprises a red giant and its white dwarf companion, which are becoming increasingly hotter and dimmer.</p>

<p>''It's a tale of two stars: a red giant generously donates material to its white dwarf companion, creating a dazzling display. The red haze? That's the red giant's powerful wind! But Mira HM Sge is a real enigma,'' the ESA wrote in its Instagram post on Friday (June 14).</p>

<p>The post includes four images that piece the puzzle of the symbiotic star system Mira HM Sge together.</p>

<p>HMOs are essential components of breast milk known to promote healthy gut bacteria in infants and offer immune system benefits. Current infant formulas lack these HMOs or include only a limited variety, which limits their health benefits compared to breastfeeding.</p>

<p>Dr Patrick Shih, leading the research, spoke on the potential impact of the study, “Imagine being able to make all the human milk oligosaccharides in a single plant. Then you could just grind up that plant, extract all the oligosaccharides simultaneously and add that directly into infant formula. There would be a lot of challenges in implementation and commercialisation, but this is the big goal that we’re trying to move toward.”</p>

<p>The study, published in Nature Food, involved reprogramming the plant's sugar-making machinery by inserting genes responsible for producing enzymes needed to create various HMOs.</p>

<p>Nine people, including three women were killed, and 41 injured as a bus carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi plunged into a deep gorge after an ambush by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district on June 9.</p>

<p>The terrorists opened fire at the 53-seater bus when it was en route from Shiv Khori temple to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine at Katra.</p>

<p>The investigation into the June 9 terror attack on a bus in Jammu and Kashmir has been handed over to the NIA, an official said.</p>

<p>The decision came a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and preparations for the annual Amarnath yatra in two back-to-back meetings here.</p>

<p>On June 11, terrorists fired at a joint checkpost of the Rashtriya Rifles and police at Chattergalla in Bhaderwah while a search party in the Gandoh area of Doda district was attacked on June 12, resulting in injuries to seven security personnel, including a policeman.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi too reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir on June 13 where he directed officials to deploy the "full spectrum of counter-terror capabilities" after a spate of terror incidents, including the attack on the bus carrying pilgrims.</p>

On June 11, terrorists fired at a joint checkpost of the Rashtriya Rifles and police at Chattergalla in Bhaderwah while a search party in the Gandoh area of Doda district was attacked on June 12, resulting in injuries to seven security personnel, including a policeman. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir on June 13 where he directed officials to deploy the "full spectrum of counter-terror capabilities" after a spate of terror incidents, including the attack on the bus carrying pilgrims. He also directed security agencies to implement area domination and zero-terror plans in the Jammu division like they did in Kashmir to achieve success. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Manoj Pande, Army Chief-designate Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Director of Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, CRPF Director General Anish Dayal Singh, BSF Director General Nitin Agarwal, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police R R Swain and other top security officials attended both the meetings held by Mr Shah.
