Iron atoms, evenly distributed on the fibril surface, act as catalysts for alcohol breakdown. Meanwhile, gold nanoparticles, reacting with glucose, produce hydrogen peroxide. This process initiates the conversion of alcohol to harmless acetic acid within the gel.</p>

<h2><strong>Study conducted on mice&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Initial tests on mice showed promising results. When administered, the gel reduced blood alcohol levels by up to 56 per cent within five hours post-consumption. Moreover, mice receiving the gel daily alongside alcohol intake exhibited reduced liver damage and improved metabolic health compared to control groups.</p>
