Tripura Lok Sabha Elections Results 2024 Full Winners List: The northeastern Indian state of Tripura has two parliamentary constituencies, Tripura West and Tripura East, which held elections in two phases on April 19 and April 26.

This election saw a contest between the ruling BJP-led NDA and the INDIA bloc's Congress and CPI(M). The regional party TIPRA Motha allied with the BJP. The BJP&nbsp;nominated former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb for the West Tripura seat and 'Maharani' Kriti Singh Debbarma for the Tripura East (ST) seat.

CPI(M) and Congress worked together under a seat-sharing arrangement. On the other side, CPI(M) fielded Rajendra Reang for Tripura East, while Congress nominated Ashish Kumar Saha for Tripura West.

Voter turnout was 82.52 per cent&nbsp;in the West Tripura constituency during the first phase and 80.32 per cent in the East Tripura constituency during the second phase. Both constituencies, West Tripura and East Tripura (ST reserved), include 30 Assembly seats each.&nbsp;

The trial results were described as "really very exciting" by Professor Mark Saunders, a consultant clinical oncologist at the Christie.

"Immunotherapy prior to surgery could well become a 'gamechanger' for these patients with this type of cancer. Not only is the outcome better, but it saves patients from having more conventional chemotherapy, which often has more side-effects. In the future, immunotherapy may even replace the need for surgery."

Bowel cancer is a significant global health issue, being the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide with over 1.9 million new cases and more than 900,000 deaths annually, according to the World Health Organization.

THIS immunotherapy drug could revolutionise bowel cancer treatment

India's main opposition party Congress has called for all senior leaders of the INDIA alliance to remain in Delhi until the night of June 4 or the morning of June 5, reports said quoting sources from within the party adding that the instructions included that should the seat count fall short of expectations, "other options including demonstration/press conference/meeting with the President will be discussed where questions can be raised on the role of the Election Commission."

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed support for this call, ANI news agency's Congress sources revealed. According to said sources cited by the agency, a meeting will be held post-election results to assess the situation.

The voting for the 18th Lok Sabha elections concluded on June 1 with vote counting scheduled for Tuesday (June 4).

In a related development, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge&nbsp;wrote an open letter to the country's bureaucracy on Monday, the eve of counting of votes,&nbsp;and urged officers to adhere to the Constitution and serve the nation "without fear, favour and ill-will against anybody".

He also commended the Election Commission, police, Central Armed Forces, District Collectors and volunteers for their roles in the election process. 
 
"Do not get intimidated by anyone. Do not bow down to any unconstitutional means. Do not be afraid of anyone and discharge your duties, based on merit, on this counting day," he wrote.

"We owe it to future generations, a vibrant Democracy and a long-lasting Constitution, as penned by the makers of modern India," he said.

Kharge also urged all bureaucrats to uphold the Constitution and perform their duties impartially.

"Fear no one. Do not succumb to any unconstitutional methods," Kharge wrote.&nbsp;

Kharge also stressed on the importance of maintaining the independence of institutions, referencing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of civil servants as the "steel frame of India."

"In this spirit, we expect every bureaucrat and official to discharge his duties without any pressure, threat, or coercion of any kind from the ruling party or opposition," Kharge stated.&nbsp;

This call to action follows accusations by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, who alleged that Home Minister Amit Shah had been intimidating district magistrates and collectors.

"This is blatant and brazen intimidation, showing how desperate the BJP is," Ramesh wrote on social media. "Let it be very clear: the will of the people shall prevail, and on June 4th, Mr. Modi, Mr. Shah, and the BJP will exit, and the INDIA Janbandhan will be victorious. In a separate statement, Netanyahu dismissed claims that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire without its conditions being met. He said that these assertions were "incorrect."

Meanwhile, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, a far-right coalition partner, criticised Biden's proposal and called it "irresponsible." He argued that the plan would end the war without fulfilling the cabinet's clear objective of destroying Hamas.

Ben Gvir warned his party would "break up the government."

Contrarily, opposition leader Yair Lapid, a centrist and former prime minister, urged the government to consider Biden's proposal and pledged to support Netanyahu if far-right coalition partners abandoned the government.

Netanyahu deems Biden’s Gaza proposal ‘partial’ but says plan can kick off without full agreement

The Enforcement Directorate has alleged in its supplementary chargesheet filed against BRS leader K Kavitha before a court here that more than ₹1,100 crore ($132.34 million) was laundered in the alleged Delhi excise scam.

According to the ED, out of ₹1,100 crore ($132.34 million), Kavitha was involved in proceeds of crime worth ₹292.8 crore ($35.22 million).

The allegations were made in a supplementary prosecution complaint, ED’s equivalent to a chargesheet, filed before Special Judge Kaveri Beweja, who on Monday extended Kavitha’s judicial custody till July 3.

The judge extended the custody after Kavitha was produced before the court in pursuance of its earlier order issuing a production warrant against her.

The court had issued the warrants after taking cognisance of a chargesheet against the BRS leader in the case on May 29.

The court also granted bail to three co-accused persons Prince, Damodar and Arvind Singh. The three accused were chargesheeted without being arrested during investigation by the ED.

“As per the investigation so far, the total proceeds of crime identified is ₹1,100 crore, out of which PoC of ₹292.8 crore is being dealt with in this Prosecution Complaint. Through activities of the accused persons i.e. Kavitha, Champreet Singh, Prince Kumar, Damodar Sharma and Arvind Singh, huge proceeds of crime have been generated,” the chargesheet alleged.

The chargesheet claimed that Kavitha was involved in PoC of ₹292.8 crore, out of which kickbacks of ₹100 crore were given to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders.

“Kavitha conspired with the members of the South Group and the AAP leaders through accused Vijay Nair to pay kickbacks to the tune of ₹100 crore ($12.03 million) and receive undue benefits,” the documents claimed.

Kavitha, by paying kickback to the government functionaries through their middleman, has participated in the generation of PoC of ₹100 crore, the charge sheet claimed, adding that she then participated in the transfer of this PoC to the government functionaries.

The ED further claimed that Kavitha, by way of conspiracy and formation of IndoSpirits, a company accused in the case, has participated in the generation, acquisition and use of the PoC of ₹192.8 crore ($23.19 million), which was derived as a result of the conspiracy of kickbacks and payment of kickbacks.

By showing IndoSpirits as a genuine business entity and acquiring the PoC of ₹192.8 crore, she is involved in projecting this PoC as genuine profit from a legitimate business, the ED alleged.

“By way of participating in the conspiracy of formation of IndoSpirits to recoup advance bribes of ₹100 crore paid, Kavitha is knowingly involved in the generation and transfer of PoC of ₹100 crore and the generation, acquisition, and possession of PoC ₹192.8 crore in the guise of profits generated by IndoSpirits during November 2021 to August 2022,” the ED alleged.

Kavitha also received the PoC of ₹5.5 crore ($0.6 mn) from IndoSpirits in the name of her associate and co-accused in the case, Abhishek Boinpally, the federal agency said.

The report further accused Kavitha of destroying the digital evidence to conceal her role and involvement in the case.

“Kavitha has deleted evidence and contents of her mobile phone. She presented nine phones for examination, which were formatted and had no data. She was evasive and couldn't give any explanation for those formatted phones,” the ED alleged.

It further alleged that Kavitha was also involved in acts of influencing the witnesses.

The 46-year-old BRS leader is in judicial custody in the two cases lodged by the ED and the CBI in the alleged scam.

The "scam" pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 which was later scrapped.

The ED arrested Kavitha from her Banjara Hills residence in Hyderabad on March 15. The CBI arrested her from Tihar jail.

Tracing India’s electoral history: Who won and who lost in last 17 Lok Sabha elections?

The Election Commission of India (ECI) dismissed Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's plea for one week of time extension to substantiate his allegations against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Ramesh had claimed that Shah was calling district magistrates (DMs) and collectors, alleging that he had contacted 150 of them.

The ECI has now demanded that Ramesh provide evidence for his claims by 7 pm on Monday (June 3). In the press briefing held by ECI on Monday ahead of the declaration of the results of the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar addressed the allegations.

While saying that the vote counting process is 'absolutely robust',&nbsp;Kumar reacted strongly to Ramesh’s claims saying, “It's not right to spread a rumour and doubt everyone...Can someone influence them (district magistrates/returning officers) all? Tell us who did this. We will punish the person who did it...It is not right that you spread a rumour and doubt everyone.”

Earlier on Saturday (June 1), in a letter the election body wrote, “You being a responsible experienced and very senior leader of a national party, you must have made such public statement just before the day of counting based on facts, information which you believed to be true. It is requested that details of 150 DMs to whom such calls have been allegedly made by the Home Minister along with the factual matrix basis of your information are shared by 7 pm today so that appropriate action can be taken."&nbsp;
