<p>Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for a deadly bombing at a Catholic Mass in the Philippines on Sunday that killed at least four people and injured 50 others.</p>

<p>During a dramatic eruption,&nbsp;Indonesia's Marapi volcano which is situated in West Sumatra province unleashed a plume of volcanic ash reaching a staggering 3,000 metres (9,843 ft) into the sky.</p>

<p>Media reports quoting the country's disaster management agency BNPB said that the&nbsp;eruption occurred at 2.54 pm local time (0754 GMT).</p>

<p>The volcanic eruption was accompanied by the forceful dispersion of volcanic ash over nearby districts, leaving roads and cars coated in a layer of ash. This was seen in images released by BNPB, Reuters reported.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In response to the eruption, authorities have implemented strict safety measures, prohibiting residents and visitors from engaging in any activities within a 3-kilometre radius of the volcano's crater.</p>

<p>The alert level for Marapi mountain has been raised to the second-highest.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Three individuals, identified as Khalistan supporters, have been sentenced by a court in New Zealand in connection with the attempted murder of prominent Auckland-based radio host Harnek Singh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Harnek Singh, known for his vocal opposition to the Khalistan ideology, was attacked on December 23, 2020, in his driveway by a group of religious fundamentalists, media reports said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sarvjeet Sidhu, aged 27, admitted guilt to attempted murder, while Sukhpreet Singh, aged 44, was found guilty of being an accessory.</p>

<p>The third person, a 48-year-old Auckland resident with interim name suppression, was identified as the mastermind behind the plot. He had a deep-seated resentment against Harnek Singh for his views on Khalistan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>This verdict comes at a time when tensions surrounding the Khalistani issue, a matter that has strained relations between India and Canada ties, continue.</p>

<p>Harnek Singh's staunch opposition to Khalistan had made him a target for those aligned with the ideology. During the court hearing, Judge Mark Woolford spoke of the importance of community protection and the necessity for a strong deterrent against religious fanaticism.</p>

<p>The court heard that Harnek Singh had been followed by three cars before the assailants attacked him, inflicting severe injuries.</p>

<p>Fattah, translating to "conquer" in Farsi, represents an advanced iteration of its initial domestically produced hypersonic ballistic missile, also named "Fattah".</p>

<p>The new version boasts several notable features. It's HGV warhead is capable of maneuvering and gliding at incredibly high speeds, capable of evading air defence systems.</p>

<p>Propelled by a liquid-fuel rocket propellant, the precision-guided two-stage missile exhibits a striking range of 1500 kilometres. It also achieves a velocity of Mach 15, equating to 15 times the speed of sound, equivalent to 18522 kilometres per hour, as per reports.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The E3 countries highlighted the global and regional security threat posed by Iran's ballistic missile program, especially following the expiration of UN sanctions on Iran's missile programme in October.</p>
