“Based on our preliminary estimates, the current account deficit may increase by $4.4 billion (1 per cent of GDP) – assuming no counter-measures are taken, while around 30 per cent of the CPI (Consumer Price Index) basket is exposed to the threat of higher prices,” read the report.&nbsp;

“Aside from the illegality of such a ban, it must be noted that those opposing EuroPride in Belgrade are using tired old tropes, inaccuracies and downright lies to discredit what is, in fact, a celebration of human rights and equality,” said Garina.&nbsp;

EuroPride is a&nbsp;pan-European international event dedicated to LGBT pride. It is hosted by a different European city every year. Belgrade was supposed to be the first European city in southeast Europe to organise the event. However, the axing has put a dent on the travelling plans of thousands who had planned to attend the event.&nbsp;

At 12:40 PM (0440 GMT), the Hong Kong Observatory issued a strong wind advisory, with speeds up to 62 kph expected. The storm, about 440 km southeast of Hong Kong, will lash the city with heavy rains later Wednesday and into Thursday morning.

Hong Kong issued its third-highest typhoon warning on Wednesday evening as the storm trundled closer to the city, with authorities warning people to stay indoors.

Very hot weather has hung over the city for the past couple of days and temperatures reached as high as 34 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with Ma-on, which translates to saddle, expected to be closest to the city on Thursday morning.

Hong Kong's financial markets will not open on Thursday if the typhoon signal remains at 8 or higher at 9 AM (0100 GMT). 
 
The Maritime Bureau of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge issued a typhoon-level II emergency response, closing it to shipping.

The ninth cyclone of the season, Ma-on is expected to generate waves of five to eight metres across the northern part of the South China Sea, according to local media. Storm surges are expected to affect several cities in Guangdong province, including Shenzhen, Chaozhou, Huizhou and Yangjiang.

The Shenzhen Meteorological Station upgraded the city's blue typhoon warning signal to yellow, and Zhongshan issued a yellow signal, suspending schools and child care classes throughout the city.

Shenzhen airport said it will suspend operations from 3:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, according to a statement from its official Weibo account, and the city's railway department suspended some train services between Wednesday and Friday, the local Southern Metropolis Daily reported.

China has a four-tier, colour-coded weather-warning system, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.

Ma-on is expected to gradually weaken after landfall, forecasters predicted. The winds and rain could bring much-needed relief to southern areas assaulted by days of scorching heat, which has pressured China's national electricity grid, damaged crops and caused wildfires.&nbsp;

Though it will not directly impact Taiwan, the outer edges of Ma-on also brought heavy rain to southern and eastern parts of the island, with flights to the outlying Green Island and Orchid Island cancelled on Wednesday.

Eugen was hit in the spine which left him paralysed. Moreover, one of his legs was amputated by the doctors as it could have led to the spread of the infection. Unable to move and suffering from unbearable pain, Eugen appealed to the Spanish courts to be euthanised before facing a court trial.

“I’m paraplegic. I’ve got 45 stitches in one hand and I can barely move my left arm. I’m full of screws and I can’t feel my chest.” Eugen had remarked in a statement released from the prison.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the victims and their families argued that Eugen should be brought to justice using the judicial mechanism. "It was not about preventing euthanasia, but we did want the victims to have a fair trial," one victim's lawyer&nbsp;was quoted as saying by Spanish media outlets.&nbsp;

The moral dilemma of allowing a shooter to get scot free when he inflicted mental and physical trauma on not one but four individuals can be a major philosophical question for debates. Moreover, one of his legs was amputated by the doctors as it could have led to the spread of the infection. Unable to move and suffering from unbearable pain, Eugen appealed to the Spanish courts to be euthanised before facing a court trial. “I’m paraplegic. I’ve got 45 stitches in one hand and I can barely move my left arm. I’m full of screws and I can’t feel my chest.” Eugen had remarked in a statement released from the prison. Meanwhile, the victims and their families argued that Eugen should be brought to justice using the judicial mechanism. "It was not about preventing euthanasia, but we did want the victims to have a fair trial," one victim's lawyer was quoted as saying by Spanish media outlets. However, this case has opened the pandora's box of moral and ethical dilemmas surrounding euthanasia. While most euthanasia cases are rather vanilla in the way they are approached, this particular case has a few more caveats. The moral dilemma of allowing a shooter to get scot free when he inflicted mental and physical trauma on not one but four individuals can be a major philosophical question for debates.
