In the latest development from North Korea's spy satellite launch, it has been found that one of the stages of the rocket exploded after separation on Tuesday (Nov 21).

As per analysts, the detonation was likely a deliberate destruction attempt to prevent recovery.

The footage was captured in a camera used by South Korea's Yonsei University to watch and study meteors, according to news agency Reuters.

"This time they appear to have detonated the first stage propellant in mid-air," Byun Yong-Ik, an astronomy professor at Yonsei University, told Reuters.

"This kind of measure was not seen in the previous launch attempts, and it could have been an effort to prevent South Korean and US&nbsp;authorities from recovering the propellant as it is equipped with a new engine."

Marco Langbroek, a satellite expert at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, said the video showed the first and second stages, with the first stage blowing up after the separation of the second stage.

"This certainly is unusual," he told Reuters, noting that most rocket stages are left to fall into the sea.

Langbroek then said that it wasn't yet clear if the act was intentional or an accident, however, North Korea said that it had used a destruct mechanism during its last launch in August as a safety measure after the rocket had failed.

&nbsp;"I feel it is certainly possible that it was done intentionally, to prevent recovery of an intact stage by the West," he said.

The South Korean army is seeking to find and recover debris from the rocket, said South Korea's defence ministry on Thursday (Nov 23).

It then recommended that Chinese residents follow measures like getting jabbed against flu, Covid-19 and other respiratory pathogens, keeping distance from the ones who are ill, staying at home, getting tested and wearing masks as appropriate.

"WHO does not recommend any specific measures for travellers to China," it added.

At least three people were killed after an attack on the Ukrainian village of Chornobaivka, in the southern Kherson region, said Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukraine’s presidential office, in a post on Telegram.&nbsp;

“It is preliminarily known that the shelling was carried out with cluster munitions,” said Yermak. The attack also left five people injured and destroyed 60 buildings, said Ukraine’s Interior Minister Igor Klymenko.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the regional prosecutor’s office in Kherson reported the death of a man who was riding a bicycle when Russian forces shelled the town of Beryslav. Moscow also&nbsp;shelled&nbsp;several settlements in the Kherson district.&nbsp;

At least two people were also killed after shelling in Ukrainian-held areas of the eastern Donetsk region over the last 24 hours, said Governor Igor Moroz, on Thursday.&nbsp;

The incident, as per Russian investigators, took place on Wednesday (Nov 22) when they said Ukrainian armed forces struck a group of Russian journalists with fragmentation shells and a drone.

Maksudov, a 38-year-old war correspondent working for Rossiya 24, suffered a grave shrapnel wound. “Boris Maksudov died on 11/23/2023 after being wounded in Zaporizhzhia,” said the state TV.&nbsp;

“The day before, the film crew came under fire from the (Armed Forces of Ukraine) AFU,” it added. Maksudov was “hospitalised urgently but the injuries turned out to be fatal,” said Rossiya 24.

The attack was “revenge for the 128th”, said Robert Brovdi, a Ukrainian military commander, in a post on social media, referring to the Russian strike on soldiers from Ukraine’s 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade due to which the brigade said that it lost 19 of its soldiers.&nbsp;

Reuters citing unverified footage of the incident said soldiers were watching Menshikh singing on stage with a guitar when, mid-song, the building was suddenly rocked by a blast.&nbsp;
