A scholar of the holy Bible has accused US politicians and popular media figures of using Jesus to spread a message that is "historically false" and "inflammatory" amid ongoing war in Gaza.&nbsp;

"This Easter, let’s not try to pretend Jesus was a ‘Palestinian Jew,"&nbsp;historian and Aurelio Professor of Scripture emerita at Boston University Paula Fredriksen said in an article in the Washington Post.

Earlier on Christmas, US Democrats drew condemnation for likening Jesus to a "Palestinian Jew" living in an "occupied" country.

"So caught up were these advocates in their own spin that they mischaracterised reality," Fredriksen reacted.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez&nbsp;in a social media post&nbsp;on Christmas Day wroite,&nbsp;"In the story of Christmas, Christ was born in modern-day Palestine under the threat of a government engaged in a massacre of innocents."&nbsp;

"He was part of a targeted population being indiscriminately killed to protect an unjust leader’s power."

"Thousands of years later, right-wing forces are violently occupying Bethlehem as similar stories unfold for today’s Palestinians, so much so that the Christian community in Bethlehem has canceled this year’s Christmas Eve celebrations out of both [fear for their] safety and respect," she added.

Fredriksen further pointed out that Jesus Christ's birthplace has been under Palestinian rule for decades.&nbsp;

"But Bethlehem has been administered by the Palestinian Authority since 1995. Once a significant majority there, the Christian population plunged from 86 per cent in 1950 to less than 12 per cent in 2016," she wrote.

According to reports, members of Russia's GRU’s Unit 29155 are alleged to have used sonic weapons, using radio frequencies to target their victims’ brains.

A number of victims of these alleged attacks have also claimed that Washington tried to cover up the Russian involvement.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, a recent extensive study by the US National Institute of Health (NIH) found no clinical explanation for Havana Syndrome, further complicating its secretive nature.&nbsp;

<h2>Frankfurt before Havana? First cases reportedly date back to 2014</h2>

According to the investigation, the first cases of what later came to be known as Havana Syndrome date back to 2014 when four Americans stationed in Frankfurt reported symptoms.&nbsp;

Similar complaints were made later that year by CIA officers in Ukraine.

"What we found was we thought clear evidence of an injury to the auditory and vestibular system of the brain," Dr Relman of Stanford University was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.&nbsp;

"Everything starting with the inner ear where humans perceive sound and sense balance, and then translate those perceptions into brain electrical signals."

An investigative journalist Christo Grozev identified the alleged assailant as Albert Averyanov.

Averyanov is reportedly the son of the founder of Unit 29155.

The Havana Syndrome's victim in the Georgian capital Tbilisi reportedly saw Averyanov in a car outside her home.&nbsp;

The investigation concluded it was the work of Unit 29155.

Mark Zaid, a lawyer representing many of the victims, has accused the US government of concealing the truth.

"It has been so distressing to see how much effort our government has undertaken to cover up the true details of these attacks, no doubt perpetrated by a foreign adversary," Zaid was quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

The US Office of the Director of National Intelligence has disputed his conclusion.

In an official statement, it said the incidents "were the result of factors that did not involve a foreign adversary".

Germany cannabis legalisation Germany has joined the list of countries establishing legal adult access to cannabis for recreational use. Last week the country passed the bill legalising cannabis usage for leisure purposes by legal adults. It was passed with a huge majority in the lower house. With this development, over half a billion people will have access to cannabis for recreational use. The new law is coming into force on April 1. People can keep up to 25g of cannabis for personal use and up to 50g at home under the provisions of the law. Moreover, it will also allow requests to remove criminal records for past possession offenses. Alongside this, the law legalises home growing of up to three cannabis plants for personal use, and establishes a regulatory framework for not-for-profit associations within which cannabis can be grown and supplied to members.

The research said that millions of tonnes of explosive remnants of war remain in nature and their volume is continuously growing. The explosive legacy of wars represents an increasing threat to the environment and societal safety and security.&nbsp;

The date of Easter, which keeps changing every year, fell on the Transgender Day of Visibility this year. A statement was also issued by Biden on Sunday marking Easter which said that it "reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection. As we gather with loved ones, we remember Jesus' sacrifice. We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities." Taking to X, Speaker Mike Johnson on Saturday (Mar 30) said that the Biden administration "has betrayed the central tenet of Easter--which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ." The Russian statement demanded that Ukraine cease all support for terrorist activities, extradite the guilty parties, and compensate the victims for damages.&nbsp;

It also warned that "Ukraine's violation of its obligations under anti-terrorist conventions will result in it being held to account in international legal terms."&nbsp;

Among those listed for extradition is SBU head Vasyl Maliuk, who has previously admitted that his service was behind attacks on the bridge linking Crimea to the Russian mainland since the 2022 invasion.&nbsp;

The SBU responded by calling the Russian demands "cynical."

Describing Russia as a "terrorist state" it said that the demands "sound particularly cynical coming from the terrorist state itself."

Referring to the arrest warrant against Putin issued by the International Criminal Court in connection with the alleged war crimes of illegally transferring Ukrainian children to Russia, it stated that "the tribunal in The Hague is waiting for him."

Microsoft will sell its chat and video app Teams separately from its Office product globally, the US&nbsp;tech giant said on Monday, six months after it unbundled the two products in Europe in a bid to avert a possible EU antitrust fine.

The European Commission has been investigating Microsoft's tying of Office and Teams since a 2020 complaint by Salesforce-owned competing workspace messaging app Slack.

Teams, which was added to Office 365 in 2017 for free, subsequently replaced Skype for Business and became popular during the pandemic due in part to its video conferencing.

Rivals, however, said packaging the products together gives Microsoft an unfair advantage. The company started&nbsp;selling the two products separately in the EU&nbsp;and Switzerland on Oct. 1 last year.

"To ensure clarity for our customers, we are extending the steps we took last year to unbundle Teams from M365 and O365 in the European Economic Area and Switzerland to customers globally," a Microsoft spokesperson said.

"Doing so also addresses feedback from the European Commission by providing multinational companies more flexibility when they want to standardise their purchasing across geographies."

Microsoft said in a blogpost that it was introducing a new lineup of commercial Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suites that do not include Teams in regions outside the EEA (European Economic Area) and Switzerland, and also a new standalone Teams offering for Enterprise customers in those regions.

Starting April 1, customers can either continue with their current licensing deal, renew, update or switch to the new offers.

For new commercial customers, prices for Office without Teams range from $7.75 to $54.75 depending on the product while Teams Standalone will cost $5.25. The figures may vary by country and currency. The company did not disclose prices for current packaged products.
