Federico Gutierrez, Mayor of Medellín, a city located in the Andes mountains in Colombia,&nbsp;has taken a decisive action and&nbsp;has imposed a six-month ban on prostitution in two neighbourhoods.&nbsp;

This comes as Provenza and El Poblado localities which are very popular with tourists have witnessed a rising trend&nbsp;in disturbing incidents, the latest involving an American man found with two minor girls in a Medellin hotel room.&nbsp;

The incident has triggered the ban. The incident at the Medellin has sent shockwaves through the community when an American tourist was spotted with two local girls aged 12 and 13.

The tragic event led to the American man being detained for 12 hours. However, he eventually left the country and escaped to Florida. Notably, the investigation in the case is still ongoing as Mayor Gutierrez while expressing his concern also asked the Colombian authorities to expedite the investigation into the case.

In Japan, the woman has to change her last name in 95 per cent of marriages. However, it is not specific in the current laws. But more and more people are now in support of married couples using separate surnames. As per a Reuters report, this surge in the number of people signing up for the Russian army follows the deadly attack on a concert hall near Moscow last month that killed at least 144 people.&nbsp;

As per the Russian defence ministry, more than 100,000 people have signed contracts since the beginning of the year. Of this, about 16,000 have signed up in the past 10 days alone.

In a statement, the ministry said that many recent candidates cited a desire to avenge those killed in the March 22 attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue.

Soon, the novel The Sign of Four made its first appearance in the February 1890 edition of Lippincott’s Monthly Magazine. This was the second novel featuring Sherlock Holmes after the first novel The Study in Scarlet.&nbsp;

The manuscript up for sale is in an immaculate state, with only a few edits by Stoddart to Americanise the spellings and some tweaks here and there by Conan Doyle, told Selby Kiffer to CNN. Kifer is the auction house’s international senior specialist for books and manuscripts.

Almost all of Conan Doyle’s surviving manuscripts are residing in museums with similar little edits.

The manuscript is just one fraction of a collection that was assembled by Dr. Rodney P. Swantko, a Chicago-based collector, who died two years ago.

Other lots include four novels by F. Scott Fitzgerald, one of which is a copy of “The Great Gatsby” he signed from Scott and Zelda, on behalf of his wife, which is expected to fetch up to $250,000.

A week after the Baltimore bridge collapse, a second temporary channel has been opened to facilitate marine traffic bypassing the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge.&nbsp;

The collapsed bridge had blocked the main shipping channel at the vital port for a week following its destruction.

The new channel, which opened on Tuesday, allows a limited amount of marine traffic to pass through, primarily vessels involved in the clean-up effort and some barges and tugs stuck in the Port of Baltimore.&nbsp;

As per an AP report, a tugboat pushing a fuel barge supplying jet fuel to Delaware’s Dover Air Force Base was the first vessel to use the alternate channel late on Monday (Apr 1).&nbsp;

To open the channel, crews used a large crane to lift the wreckage out of the way.

A third channel is also in the works to accommodate larger vessels and restore more commercial activity, said officials at a press conference on Tuesday (Apr 2).

As per the report citing Governor Wes Moore, the salvage operation has faced challenges due to rough weather conditions over the past two days. Because of the weather, it is unsafe for divers to attempt to recover the bodies of the four construction workers believed to be trapped underwater in the wreckage.
