TikTok on its website says that its policy is to eliminate "harmful misinformation" and work with fact-checkers to flag or debunk it.

"We prioritise protecting the integrity of elections on our platform so that our community can continue to enjoy creative and entertaining TikTok experiences," a TikTok spokesperson said in an email.

This came to light after a passenger on flight 3695 sent a video to a US media portal. The video purportedly showed the engine's cover tearing off. As the plane was about to take off, the cover was striking the aircraft's wing flap as it lifted off the ground.

ABC News quoting one of the passengers who were aboard the plane described the experience as "frightening."&nbsp;

The passenger reportedly said, "People in the exit row across from me started yelling at the flight attendants and showing them the damage. We turned around and made a full-speed landing. The pilots did a great job on the landing."&nbsp;

Yellen said that discussions regarding Beijing's plans for its economy were also held during talks with the Chinese officials.

She met with top Chinese officials including Vice Premier He Lifeng in Guangzhou and Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing during her visit.

“Over the past year, we have put our bilateral relationship on more stable footing,” Yellen said.

“This has not meant ignoring our differences or avoiding tough conversations,” she said. “It has meant understanding that we can only make progress if we directly and openly communicate with one another.”

As per a readout from China, Li stated that Beijing hoped the United States would comply with the market economy norms and would also refrain from politicizing trade disputes.

He then said that the developments related to China's latest energy sector would also significantly contribute to global carbon neutrality efforts.

The United States and China agreed to “intensive exchanges on balanced growth in the domestic and global economies,” as per a Treasury readout released after Yellen’s meetings in Guangzhou with He.

Both the countries also decided to start "Joint Treasury-PBOC Cooperation and Exchange on Anti-Money Laundering" in order to expand "cooperation against illicit finance and financial crime," stated the readout.

According to the Financial Times report, two high-ranking US officials said that Biden is expected to voice grave concerns over the ongoing situation surrounding the Second Thomas Shoal, a disputed submerged reef within the Spratly Islands.

The officials stated that Biden would emphasise that the Sierra Madre is covered under the US-Philippine Mutual Defense Treaty and that the US president expressed “deep concern” when he had a telephonic conversation with Xi last week.

“China is underestimating the potential for escalation. We’ve tried to make that clear in a series of conversations . . . that our mutual defence treaty covers Philippine sailors and ships and by extension . . . the Sierra Madre,” the Financial Times quoted one of the officials as saying.

“China needs to examine its tactics or risk some serious blowback,” they added.&nbsp;

Biden held his first direct talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week, since their meeting in November, where the US president emphasised "the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and the rule of law and freedom of navigation in the South China Sea," the White House said in a statement.

Meanwhile, China’s military conducted joint air and sea “combat patrols” in the disputed South China Sea, on Sunday (Apr 7) as the United States held its first joint military drills with the Philippines, Japan and Australia.&nbsp;

“The Southern Theatre Command of the People’s Liberation Army will conduct a joint air and sea combat patrol in the South China Sea on April 7,” said Southern Theatre Command in a surprising announcement on its WeChat account, on Sunday morning.&nbsp;

The statement indicated that the patrols were conducted in response to the joint naval exercises by the US and its allies in the South China Sea. The PLA, in its brief statement, added “All military activities that disrupt the South China Sea and create hotspots are under control.”

Sanders is a long-serving independent in the US Senate representing the northeastern state of Vermont, although in 2016 and 2020 he unsuccessfully sought to become the Democratic Party's presidential nominee.

There were 135 passengers and six crew members in the aircraft and the flight was at about 10,300 feet (3,140m). The mishap took place amid increasing safety concerns with Boeing jets.

Southwest Airlines said it will be reviewing the Boeing 737-800 following the incident. The airline&nbsp;said that it was responsible for the maintenance of such parts. All the passengers were shifted to another jet and arrived in Houston approximately after a delay of four hours.
