Zeroing in on details, Necheles asked Daniels why in a 2018 interview with Vogue she had failed to mention that Trump's bodyguard was outside the room.

"You made all this up, right?" Necheles asked the adult film star at one point.

"No" responded Daniels. On Tuesday (May 7) she had testified that the bodyguard's presence had contributed to the power imbalance between her and Trump and had left her uncomfortable.

<h2>Request for mistrial denied AGAIN</h2>

After Daniels'&nbsp;testimony ended, Trump's lawyer Todd Blanche once again urged presiding Justice Juan Merchan to declare a mistrial.

He argued that Daniels' detailed testimony, which included explicit details like Trump skipping wearing a condom, veered into territory not relevant to the hush-money allegations against the ex-president.

"This is not a case about sex," said Blanche, adding, "This is not a case about whether that incident (the sexual tryst) took place or didn't take place."

However, once again, Judge Merchan denied the request. He reasoned that since Blanche, in his opening statement on April 22, contended that the encounter never happened, Stormy's lawyers are allowed to reestablish her credibility.

"Your denial puts the jury in a position of having to choose who they believe," said the judge.

Blanche also requested that the gag order on Trump's public comments about jurors and witnesses be loosened. He argued that Trump should be able to respond to questions about Daniels'&nbsp;testimony publicly.

"As we've said repeatedly, he needs an opportunity to respond to the American people," he said.

However, Judge Merchan, citing Trump's "track record," denied this request as well. He said, "Other witnesses, including not only Michael Cohen, will see your client doing whatever it is he intends to do."

"The reason the gag order is in place to begin with is precisely because of the nature of these attacks. The nature, the vitriol … your client's track record speaks for itself here."

Prosecutor Christopher Conroy suggested that Trump can respond while testifying in his own defence.

"If somebody wants to respond to something that's said in this room, that can happen in this room," he commented.

The shaka, which involves extending the thumb and pinkie finger and curling the others down, is soon to become Hawaii’s official gesture.

Last week, the state lawmakers passed a bill that would recognise Hawaii as the shaka’s birthplace. While different groups in Hawaii interpret the shaka differently, the bill states that it has been used across the state for sharing aloha, fostering connection and being pono, or living rightly.

A primary sponsor of the bill, State Sen. Glenn Wakai (D), said the shaka embodies all the goodness that emanates from Hawaii.

Hawaii Governor Josh Green (D) backs the legislation, according to a statement from his office released on Saturday. He indicated that he is likely to sign it, provided there are no errors or concerns with the wording of the bill. If approved, the law would go into effect right away.

The inspiration for the bill came from Steve Sue, a Honolulu resident who created a documentary about the origins of the shaka gesture, as explained by State Senator Glenn Wakai. Sue started working on the documentary in 2019 and has since gathered various interpretations and stories surrounding the shaka's history.

While talking with Wakai in December, Sue expressed a desire to find a way for Hawaii to enshrine the gesture. “I realized that there’s a huge lurking asset here for the state that’s not really being protected,” Sue told The Washington Post.

After a detailed discussion, they agreed that a bill would help preserve the shaka’s connections to the state.

“This will prove to the global community that Malaysia is committed to biodiversity conservation,” said the minister, in a statement, on X.&nbsp;

He added, “Malaysia cannot take a defensive approach to the issue of palm oil. Instead we need to show the countries of the world that Malaysia is a sustainable palm oil producer and is committed to protecting forests and environmental sustainability.”

“WWF supports in-situ conservation of wildlife, and would urge that trading partners are brought to Malaysia to support this initiative, as opposed to sending orangutans out of the country,” said the group in a statement to Reuters.

Advocacy group Justice for Wildlife Malaysia, as per the news agency, said that the government should consider alternative diplomatic measures, as its plan for “orangutan diplomacy” would require research about the potential impact and feasibility against other conservation efforts.

Two paintbrushes between the toes, two in her hands, and fierce concentration etched on her face, Dutch artist&nbsp;Rajacenna&nbsp;van Dam is crafting 10 paintings at the same time.

An astronaut, a self-portrait, a bespectacled panda and seven other pictures burst into life from her brush, painted on 10 canvasses laid out on a table, upside-down on the floor, and two easels.

It started as a party trick for the curly-haired&nbsp;Rajacenna&nbsp;-- her artist name -- who wanted a challenge to relieve her boredom.

But it has since become a profession that has shot her to viral fame, with every paint stroke worked out in advance in her head before setting to work with hands -- and feet.

"I work a bit on one canvas, then move to another one, so I'm always dividing my attention between them," said&nbsp;Rajacenna, who is technically left-handed.

"Five years ago, I started painting with both hands, as a bit of a challenge and to go quicker. I discovered I was ambidextrous," the 31-year-old artist told AFP.

Then a journalist asked her as a joke whether she could also use her feet as well. Challenge accepted.

Starting out "for fun" and after a few mishaps with sticky tape between her toes, she tried using plasticine to keep the brush between her toes.

It was a success and she posted a video of her exploits online, quickly becoming a viral hit. Orders flooded in.

She is so skilled that only she can tell the difference between paintings crafted with her hands and those with her feet.

"I can really see a big difference. It's a bit less precise," she said, performing her skills at a museum in Vlaardingen, her home town in the south of the Netherlands.

'Very special'&nbsp;

Rajacenna&nbsp;has loved drawing since she was a small child. After a short adolescent dip in interest, her passion was rekindled by an Italian street artist.

Today her videos on social media attract millions of views, especially when she paints 10 canvasses at a time with her hands and feet.

"I get bored quite quickly, so I like to challenge myself. Doing all this at the same time gives me a sort of feeling of meditation, which calms me a lot," she told AFP.

To her knowledge, she is the only person capable of such a feat.

"But I hope that people will be inspired to do more things, to challenge themselves a bit more, to do things like paint with their feet," she said.

Her paintings sell for between 6,000 and 12,000 euros ($6,450 to $12,900), according to her father Jaco van Dam.

"It's also very special for us as parents. She surprises us too and I don't know either how she manages to do it," he told AFP.

But a study on her brain by a Turkish-German neurologist Onur Gunturkun provides a clue, he added.

"A brain scan showed that the left and right sides of her brain are three times more connected than average," he said.

Neurologist Gunturkun has said&nbsp;Rajacenna&nbsp;was "capable of things that neuroscience deems impossible".

In a nod to Albert Einstein, whose brain was famously removed after his death, a painting of the scientist by&nbsp;Rajacenna&nbsp;hangs on the wall of the museum.

Rajacenna&nbsp;has attracted some famous admirers, notably pop star Justin Bieber, who described her work as "amazing" when she presented him with a portrait of himself.

It certainly impressed a couple of pensioners watching her at the museum.

"It's extraordinary that someone can do that," said Anton van Weelden, 75.

"What's more, the paintings are very beautiful and realistic," said Van Weelden, who said he would never dare try something like that.

"I couldn't even paint like that with my right hand," he joked.

"Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of those bombs," Biden said. "It's just wrong."

Biden, however, pointed out that the US is not shifting too far from Israel.

"We are not walking away from Israel's security," Biden insisted in the CNN interview. "We're walking away from Israel's ability to wage war in those areas."

Israel has already launched a limited invasion of Rafah after taking over a key crossing point and overnight bombardments over purported Hamas targets. Even if the pause in US shipments happens, Israel would still be left with&nbsp;a significant weapons stockpile.&nbsp;

At least 34,789 Palestinians have so far been killed in Israel’s ongoing offensive in the Gaza Strip since October last year, Gaza’s Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
