NATO members will vow to keep supporting Ukraine at the rate they have been so far since Moscow invaded -- roughly 40 billion euros annually -- for at least another year.

They will also agree the alliance will take more control of coordinating weapon deliveries to Ukraine from the US military in a move to help insulate supplies from any changes in Washington if Trump wins the election.&nbsp;

European countries in NATO have ramped up defence spending in response to Russia's war -- and the alliance is showcasing the rises to make the case to Washington that it isn't carrying all the financial burden.&nbsp;

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said allies would sign a pledge to spend more on weaponry in a bid to get defence firms to ratchet up capacity.&nbsp;

Phoning into liberal-leaning MSNBC network's Morning Joe programme, a fiery-sounding Biden said he's "getting so frustrated by the elites."

"I'm not talking about you guys — the elites in the party, 'Oh, they know so much more,'" he ranted.

Putting out an open challenge to the Democrats against his presidential re-run, he added,&nbsp;"Any of these guys that don't think I should run — run against me. Announce for president, challenge me at the convention."

The "elite" narrative is nothing new. Populist leaders, including Trump, have used it to rally people against the "elites" while being a part of the so-called group themselves.

His phone-in speech of sorts garnered mixed responses. On one hand, Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for&nbsp;Barack Obama, commented that while Biden's "energy is great", his "message absolutely sucks," labelling it "Angry, defensive, lashing out at all the wrong people."

On the other hand, the likes of Hollywood director&nbsp;Rob Reiner known for movies like When Harry Met Sally&nbsp;said if Biden were to keep up similar performances until the November elections "he'll be able to shut up people like me who think he should step aside."

<h2>Biden goes 'full Trump'</h2>

This is not the only inspiration the usually mild-mannered Biden has taken from Trump.

Joe Biden has taken to touting the huge crowd at his rallies, a move right out of his predecessor's playbook.

At a campaign rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he boasted to his audience, "We've been drawing big crowds. Ever since the debate, not joking, even that night we had big crowds afterwards."

He has also taken to bragging about his accomplishments, to the press and his congressmen peers — in the letter he wrote recently.

Not only that, Biden has also taken up Trump's typically aggressive persona to slam him, whether by calling him a "loser" a threat to democracy or slamming him for having "sex with a porn star" during the Presidential debate watched by 50 million people.

People have also commented on him borrowing Trump's signature "orange" sheen. As Paul Murray, a commentator on Sky Australia, commented recently, Biden had gone from "white to orange".&nbsp;

"Is he trying to trick the voters of America that he's Donald Trump?" he asked jokingly.

India on Tuesday (Jul 9) extended the ban on the Khalistani group 'Sikhs For Justice' (SFJ) by another five years. The decision came after an investigation by the country's anti-terror National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed new findings. The SFJ is a US-based group that is managed by Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who is a designated terrorist under India's Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) since July 1, 2020.

Earlier, India's Home Ministry imposed a ban on SFJ in 2019 for five years under the UAPA for separatist activities.

“In the garb of the so-called referendum for Sikhs, SFJ is actually espousing secessionism and militant ideology in Punjab, while operating from safe havens on foreign soils and actively supported by inimical forces in other countries,” a 2019 notification by the ministry read.

<h2>NIA's fresh cases against SFJ</h2>

Now, the NIA has registered fresh cases against both Pannun and the SFJ. Last year, Pannun's properties in India were confiscated as well.

The Indian government issued a fresh notification on Tuesday which said the group continues to engage in "the activities which are prejudicial to the integrity and security of the country and is involved in anti-national and subversive activities in Punjab and elsewhere, intended to disrupt the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India."
