The assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump shocked the world last week. New information and clips from Pennsylvania are being shared as the investigation into the matter progresses.&nbsp;

This video comes after a new report revealed that Crooks was seen using a rangefinder shortly before the shooting, according to a local law enforcement officer who spoke to CBS News.&nbsp;

A sniper from a local tactical team, deployed to support the Secret Service at the Pennsylvania rally, saw Crooks through their scope. The sniper was stationed inside the building from the roof of which Crooks later fired shots, alongside two other snipers.

The report stated that the long-haul aircraft was forced to make the landing, six hours after taking off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.&nbsp;According to preliminary data, 243 passengers were flying aboard the Boeing 777 plane and all were safe.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that the fire alarm in the luggage compartment of the plane went off, forcing the pilots to make an 'unscheduled' landing at the&nbsp;Krasnoyarsk airfield.&nbsp;The&nbsp;Federal Air Transport Agency said there was no sign of fire or smoke.

The airline released a statement informing the plane had landed safely at the Russian airport and efforts were underway to ensure the next course of action.&nbsp;

"Air India flight AI-183 operating Delhi to San Francisco has been diverted to Krasnoyarsk International Airport (UNKL) in Russia due to a technical reason," the airline said.&nbsp;

"The aircraft has landed safely and we are working with relevant authorities to ensure guests are taken care of while we decide the next course of action. At Air India, the safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew remains top priority," it added.&nbsp;

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is currently going through the sparse digital footprint left by Crooks. Although it is not clear if he ever sought professional mental health treatment, his internet history includes searches&nbsp;for major depressive disorder.&nbsp;

Crooks being depressed may fit with his character profile that has emerged in the wake of the failed assassination bid.

According to reports, the 20-year-old&nbsp;was a loner - an outcast in school who often sat alone in the cafeteria, looking down at his phone.&nbsp;He was bullied by his classmates and had an active interest in guns and firearms with some reports claiming that he had unsuccessfully tried out for the school's rifle team.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<h2>What has the investigation revealed so far?&nbsp;</h2>

The FBI on Wednesday informed members of Congress that Crooks had searched for Trump as well as President Joe Biden in the lead-up to the events of July 13.&nbsp;

FBI added that the 20-year-old&nbsp;searched for&nbsp;dates of Trump appearances and the Democratic National Convention (DNC) where Democrats are expected to certify Biden's nomination for the president.

However, the premier security agency of the US could not decipher the motive behind the shooting as Crooks had not posted anything incendiary for either side of the political spectrum.&nbsp;

There is still some 4.5 terabytes of data across a laptop, USB drives and two cell phones that the FBI needs to sift through to provide a conclusive picture of the 20-year-old's&nbsp;intention.&nbsp;

She said that a few years later she approached him in an office.

The US president has begun treatment with his first dose of Paxlovid and will self-isolate at his home in Rehoboth, Delaware, following CDC guidelines for symptomatic individuals. PCR confirmation testing is pending, the note added.

The 39-year-old, Jason Patrick Alday was arrested on Monday (July 15), the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Florida said.

"Alday from Quincy, Florida, allegedly engaged in sending threatening communications, and made threats against President Joe Biden and other federal officials," the office said in an announcement Wednesday (July 17).
