Lebanon's Ministry of Health said that Israeli airstrikes on Thursday claimed the lives of at least 92 people and left&nbsp;153 others injured. This brings the total number of fatalities from Israeli strikes on Lebanon to over 700 this week alone.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the official X account of the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement addressing what they called widespread "misreporting" concerning a US-led ceasefire plan.

The statement said, "Earlier this week, the US shared with Israel its intention to put forward, together with other international and regional partners, a ceasefire proposal in Lebanon."

"Israel shares the aims of the US-led initiative of enabling people along our northern border to return safely and securely to their homes. Israel appreciates the US efforts in this regard because the US role is indispensable in advancing stability and security in the region," it added.

According to a statement from Netanyahu’s office, representatives from Israel and the United States held a meeting on Thursday (Sep 26). During the discussion, they talked about ways to achieve their mutual objective of ensuring people return safely to their homes.

A man in New Jersey was left partially paralysed after a healthcare startup failed to diagnose a blockage in his brain. He is now suing the company, The Independent reported.

Prenuvo, a California-based company, has Kim Kardashian on its client list with several more celebrities endorsing it. 23andMe founder Anne Wojcicki is among its A-list investors.

The startup offers "an MRI like no other" which is counted as a boutique procedure not covered by insurance. It involves an AI-assisted full-body scan that will cost you $2,500.

Sean Clifford paid for the procedure in July 2023 hoping to get an accurate analysis. However, he claims that the company botched the diagnosis and gave him a clean chit.&nbsp;

The full body scan is supposed to check “for hundreds of conditions, including most solid tumours at Stage 1, and silent killers like aneurysms."

However, it failed to catch an anomaly in Clifford's brain and later he suffered a stroke.

"No evidence of proximal intracranial arterial aneurysm," the Prenuvo radiologist who read Clifford’s scan wrote in his chart.

It further states that Clifford sustained "a full-blown catastrophic stroke… in the exact same area… where he had the Prenuvo scan". He has had to undergo three emergency brain surgeries to save his life.

The other problems he is faced with include extensive paralysis on the left side of his body, permanent double vision and cognitive delays. He is unable to speak properly, has bladder control issues, and also has "profound neurological deficits".

Clifford's attorney Neal Bhushan told the publication, "[It] could have been prevented, had the MRI scan been properly interpreted."

A third-party neurologist hired by the family says the report "clearly shows" a 60 per cent narrowing of the proximal right middle cerebral artery.

As per the new agreement, Rockville Centre will fork out $234.8mn to a settlement fund, with four insurers contributing $85.3mn, Reuters news agency reported.&nbsp;

The diocese filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October 2020, burdened by the mounting legal costs caused by the child abuse lawsuits.

At least 24 dioceses in the US filed for bankruptcy in recent years when a statute of limitations was lifted, allowing child sex abuse survivors to sue over decades-old abuse.

The Rockville case could become the template for several other dioceses facing similar bankruptcies over other child sex abuse cases involving the Catholic Church.

The archdiocese of New Orleans recently proposed that it and its affiliates settle the bankruptcy it filed in May 2020 for just $62.5mn, Reuters said in the report.

The three, Kathryn Diss and Fletcher Yeung from Australia's ABC News and Romanian journalist Mircea Barbu, are being investigated for illegally crossing the Russian border, state news agency RIA Novosti reported.

The Ukrainian army launched a surprise offensive into the Russian border region on August 6, the first incursion by a foreign army on Russian territory since World War II.

Russian forces have started a counter-offensive and say they have seized back some of the territory.

But Ukraine says it still controls around 100 settlements and 1,000 square kilometres (400 miles) of land.

Several foreign media have reported from the occupied zone, including from Italy's RAI television, the US channel CNN and Germany's Deutsche Welle.

The journalists, none of whom appear to be in Russia, face up to five years in prison under the Russian Criminal Code.
