A chilling footage has revealed the moment a Palestinian man was instantly killed by a piece of shrapnel from one of the hundreds of missiles launched by Iran on Israel on Tuesday (Oct 1).&nbsp;

The horrifying video was posted by the official State of Israel account on X (formerly Twitter), noting that the man was killed in Jericho, West Bank.&nbsp;

"Iran fired 181 ballistic missiles at Israel tonight. Only one person was killed: A Palestinian man in Jericho," the post read.&nbsp;

"We've said it once, and we'll say it again: the Iranian regime is dangerous, destructive, and one of the greatest threats to regional and world stability," it added.&nbsp;

The man has been identified as a labourer named&nbsp;Sameh al-Asl by the Palestinian media. He is believed to be the only man killed in the barrage of ballistic missiles fired by Iran to avenge the loss of top Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) leadership.&nbsp;

A hospital electrical fire in the southernmost county of Pingtung in&nbsp;Taiwan&nbsp;killed nine people, the regional government said on Thursday (October 3).

Reports indicate that soldiers from a nearby base were mobilized to aid medical workers and firefighters in the evacuation of patients and putting out the flames. The boats had departed from Yemen carrying 310 people, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said.

"So far 32 survivors... have been rescued," IOM said on X, adding that it was helping with the search and rescue efforts.

Djibouti's coastguard said the tragedy struck some 150 metres off a beach near the northwest Khor Angar region.

It said a joint rescue effort was under way, which began in the "early hours" of Monday, supported by the French navy. It put the number of survivors rescued at 115.

"We remain committed to finding the missing persons and ensuring the safety of the survivors," the agency said in a statement posted on social media, with images of white body bags.

Each year, tens of thousands of migrants brave the Eastern Route from the Horn of Africa, seeking to escape conflict, natural disasters and poor economic prospects by sailing across the Red Sea toward the oil-rich Gulf.

Many try to reach Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Arab countries where they can find employment as labourers or domestic workers.

Migrants who reach Yemen often encounter danger, as the Arabian Peninsula's poorest country has been mired in civil war for nearly a decade.

Twenty-four people were killed in April off&nbsp;Djibouti&nbsp;when a boat carrying at least 77 migrants, including children, capsized near the town of Obock.

It was the second fatal maritime accident in two weeks off&nbsp;Djibouti, highlighting a sharp increase in the number of people returning from Yemen to the Horn of Africa nation.&nbsp;

In August, at least 13 people died when their boat capsized off the coast of Yemen's Taez district.

The Miss Universe Organization earlier only allowed applicants between the ages of 18-28. But their updated criteria allow all women above the age of 18, irrespective of marital status, to participate.

'It's time for women': Claudia Sheinbaum sworn in as Mexico's first female president

US President Joe Biden has said he doesn’t support potential retaliatory strikes by Israel on Iranian nuclear facilities. When reporters asked Biden Wednesday (Oct 2) whether he would support such an action, the US leader said, “The answer is no”. However, he added that the Jewish nation had a right to respond to the Oct 1 Iranian missile attack and it should be done proportionally.

He added that US would soon be rolling out new sanctions against Iran for the barrage.

This comes after US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday that Iran will face “severe consequences” for the attacks and that Washington DC and Tel Aviv would co-operate to decide the intensity of such retaliation.

A readout released by the White House on Wednesday said&nbsp;that President Joe Biden joined a call with the G7 leaders to discuss Iran’s unacceptable attack against Israel and to coordinate on a response to this attack, including new sanctions.

Notably, Hezbollah said it destroyed three Israeli Merkava tanks on Wednesday as they advanced toward a Lebanese border village. They added that the tanks were advancing toward the village of Maroun al-Ras near the border.&nbsp;
