The British public service broadcaster was scheduled to conduct a prime-time interview at 7.30 pm on Thursday on BBC One. It was going to be Johnson’s first major interview since leaving office. &nbsp;

Presenter and former BBC political editor Kuenssberg said she sent Johnson the notes "in a message meant for my team”. She said that it was “embarrassing and disappointing”, adding that the error meant it was “not right for the interview to go ahead”.

Those volunteering on X to conduct the interview included Sky’s former political editor Adam Boulton, Tony Blair’s former director of communications Alastair Campbell, and the Channel 4 News presenters Cathy Newman and Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

The director of the think tank British Future, Sunder Katwala, also urged the BBC to find a replacement to conduct the interview.&nbsp;

“Shouldn’t the BBC just get somebody else to do the interview on Friday or next week?” he posted on X.&nbsp;

Boris Johnson served as the UK prime minister from 2019 to 2022 and has a memoir, Unleashed, being published next week.

A BBC spokesperson reported that the inadvertent move made the interview “untenable”, adding that both the BBC and Johnson’s team had agreed to cancel it.

In a dramatic moment, a Ryanair flight caught fire when it was about to take off from the Brindisi Airport in&nbsp;Italy, after which almost 200 passengers were quickly evacuated from the aeroplane using the emergency slide.

As the plane was preparing for take-off, flames started coming from the engine. According to a report in The Sun, an explosion occurred on the left side of the wing of the plane after which it caught fire.&nbsp;

Firefighters quickly moved towards the plane to control the fire and its departure was aborted.

Speaking about the fire incident, a spokesperson of the airport said: "Aeroporti di Puglia announces that due to a problem with a departing aircraft, it was necessary to close the Salento Airport in Brindisi. The problem, which occurred when the aircraft was already aligned at the head for take-off, required the evacuation of passengers via emergency slides."

In a statement, Ryanair's spokesperson said, "Flight FR8826 from Brindisi to Turin (3rd&nbsp;Oct) was delayed this morning after cabin crew observed fumes on the outside of the aircraft. Passengers were disembarked without incident and returned to the terminal by bus. We sincerely apologise to affected passengers for this delay, and a spare aircraft will operate Flight FR8826 from Brindisi to Turin later this morning."

Additionally, the Israeli military suffered its deadline day in a year when eight soldiers lost their lives during the ground raid against Hezbollah in Lebanon on Wednesday.&nbsp;

Dire water scarcity in wake of Hurricane Helene

Pictures shared on social media showed people carrying drinking water in transparent plastic bags, an indication of the dire situation.

Officials in Asheville, North Carolina, said nearly 100,000 people will not have access to water for weeks, The Guardian said in a report.

More than 160 boil water advisories were issued in North Carolina as of Tuesday.

“Extensive repairs are required to treatment facilities, underground and aboveground water pipes, and to roads that have washed away which are preventing water personnel from accessing parts of the system,” said a release from the city.

A report in the Washington Post said some people were taking baths in creeks and using water from streams to flush toilets.
