The United Nations Security Council has voted overwhelmingly to lift sanctions on Syria’s transitional President Ahmed Al Sharaa, ahead of his scheduled meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump. The resolution, backed by 14 members with China abstaining, removes travel bans, asset freezes, and arms embargoes related to terror sanctions.
