Typhoon Halong has struck Japan’s Izu Islands, bringing violent winds and heavy rain. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued warnings for strong winds, high waves, and heavy rainfall, with totals expected to reach up to 300mm in 24 hours. Gusts may exceed 250 km/h, with sustained winds around 180 km/h, posing a serious threat to homes and infrastructure.
