Israel-Gaza: Hadar Goldin’s Remains Returned to Israel After 11 Years in Gaza

Israel has confirmed the remains returned by Hamas belong to Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, an Israeli soldier killed in Gaza during the 2014 war. His body was held in Gaza for 11 years before being returned under a ceasefire agreement brokered with the United States. Lt. Goldin was killed in an ambush by Hamas shortly after a ceasefire in August 2014 and has since been a symbol of national loss in Israel.
