Humsafar made Fawad and Mahira instant household names across the subcontinent and their onscreen pairing was loved by all.&nbsp;

What's the series about? 
 
The show reportedly revolves around a Harvard law student Sikandar, “who witnesses a life-altering incident,” and a talented artist Liza, who has a “troubled past." The two meet in Italy.&nbsp; 
 
The show also is special as it reunites Fawad with his Zindagi Gulzar Hai co-star Sanam Saeed. The two came together in Zee5 show Barzakh earlier.&nbsp; 
 
Others in the cast include Ahad Raza Mir (Resident Evil, World on Fire Season 2), Hamza Ali Abbasi (The Legend of Maula Jatt), Bilal Ashraf (Superstar), Maya Ali (Parey Hut Love), Iqra Aziz (Raqeeb Se), Hania Aamir (Parde Mein Rehne Do), Khushaal Khan (Muhabbat Gumshuda Meri), Nadia Jamil (Jo Bichar Gaye), Omair Rana (Pinjra) and Samina Ahmed (Ms. Marvel). 
 
The show will be set across Italy, UK and Pakistan. 
 
Besides Humsafar, Fawad and Mahira also shared the screenspace last year in the action film The Legend of Maula Jatt. It was an adaptation of the 1979 Pakistani classic Maula Jatt. Considered one of the most expensive films to be made in Pakistan, the film earned over Rs 3 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time. The film, however, never got a release in India- where both Fawad and Mahira have a huge fan base.&nbsp;

Sanam Saeed and Fawad Khan will be sharing the screen space for a new web show which will stream on ZEE5.&nbsp; 
The yet-to-be-titled series is helmed by critically acclaimed director Asim Abbasi, who also helmed Zindagi's first original 'Churails'.&nbsp; 
 
As per the official statement released by the OTT platform, the show blends together magical realism and supernatural fantasy within a family reunion setting and deals with themes of love, loss and reconciliation.

In the series, Fawad will be seen playing the role of a single parent - charming but ridden with guilt for what he has lost. With his son, he tries to be every bit the father his own father was and wasn't. Sanam plays the central female character in the show. 
 
Excited about the project, Fawad, who is also known for his Bollywood films such as 'Kapoor &amp; Sons', and 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', said, "I think Zindagi is taking bold and brave decisions when it comes to storytelling. It`s naturally evolving into a platform that encourages diversity of opinion and inclusiveness for all filmmakers and material ranging from everyday mainstream to avant-garde and noir. I feel there`s a place for everyone in this artistic landscape."

 
Sanam has also expressed her excitement about the series."I am thrilled to be collaborating with one of my favourite directors Asim Abbasi again, this time for Zindagi. To prepare for her character Roop, Alia Bhatt drew references from old classiscs like 'Umrao Jaan' ánd 'Mughal-E-Azam' and revealed that she based her character Roop on Kashaf from hit Pakistani show 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' .&nbsp; 
 
"I watched a lot of old films like 'Mughal-E-Azam' and 'Umrao Jaan' to get an understanding of grace and body language. (And) I had to clean my Hindi as I am speaking Urdu (in the film). Abhishek asked me to watch 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai'. The character of the girl in the show is very much how Roop will deal with the situation.&nbsp;

"She has responsibility on her shoulders so she is not always a happy person. She is vulnerable yet strong. It is difficult (to bring so many) layers - unhappy, vulnerable and strong to a character. Abhishek kept saying that I should not be irritating," Alia told a news agency while promoting her film 'Kalank'.&nbsp;
