Khamenei, who has held power in Iran for 35 years, boasted five million followers on Instagram.

Meta's decision was based on its policy aimed at preventing real-world harm by disallowing organisations or individuals with violent agendas from using their platforms.

The policy states, "In an effort to prevent and disrupt real-world harm, we do not allow organizations or individuals that proclaim a violent mission or are engaged in violence to have a presence on our platforms," says the policy on which Meta based its decision."

Notably, Hamas is officially designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States. Reports said that Iranians utilise virtual private networks (VPNs) to circumvent restrictions and access prohibited websites or apps, including those owned by US companies like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

France police destroy 35,000 ‘champagne’ bottles over naming violations

India's law enforcement agency, Enforcement Directorate, has registered a case against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) India news broadcaster for alleged foreign exchange violations, as per reports citing sources.&nbsp;The case was filed under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) two weeks ago. Authorities have been probing BBC India employees with so far six employees being interrogated. It even involves high-level employees of the organization including one of the BBC India directors.&nbsp;

Media outlets while quoting an officer reported, “Today, they have called another employee of BBC along with some documents and questioning is still going on."&nbsp;

This comes after India's Income Tax Department carried out tax surveys at BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai in February. The IT department had reportedly "gathered several evidence" which indicate that "tax has not been paid on certain remittances" which have not been disclosed as income in India by the foreign entities of the group.&nbsp;

These developments also figured during a discussion between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly in early march when Cleverly visited India to attend G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting.&nbsp;

The CBDT further added, "The survey operations also revealed that services of seconded employees have been utilised for which reimbursement has been made by the Indian entity to the foreign entity concerned."&nbsp;

The survey reportedly found several "discrepancies and inconsistencies" with regard to transfer pricing documentation. Such discrepancies relate to the level of relevant Function, Asset and Risk (FAR) analysis, incorrect use of comparables which are applicable to determine the correct Arms Length Price (ALP) and inadequate revenue apportionment, among others.&nbsp;

India's market regulator is investigating a possible violation of 'related party' transaction rules in the&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;Group's dealings with at least three offshore entities that have links to the brother of the conglomerate's founder, two people said.

The three entities allegedly entered into several investment transactions with unlisted units of the ports-to-power conglomerate founded by billionaire Gautam&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;over the last 13 years, said the sources with direct knowledge of the matter.

Vinod&nbsp;Adani, Gautam&nbsp;Adani's brother, is either a beneficial owner&nbsp;or director or has links with those three offshore entities, said the two sources, adding the regulator, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), is probing if the lack of that disclosure violated 'related party transaction' rules.

Under Indian laws, direct relatives, promoter groups and subsidiaries of listed companies are considered related parties.

A promoter group is defined as an entity that has a large shareholding in a listed company and can influence company policy.

Transactions between such entities have to be disclosed in regulatory and public filings and require shareholder approval above a specified threshold. Violations typically attract monetary fines.

An e-mail to SEBI requesting a comment was not answered. SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch declined to comment on the&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;investigations at a news conference on Wednesday.

An&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;Group spokesperson said Vinod&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;is a member of the&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;family and is part of the promoter group, but he does not hold any managerial position in any of the listed&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;entities or their subsidiaries.

"This fact, like all other material information required to be reported, has been disclosed to the regulatory authorities in the past and also as and when required," the spokesperson added, without commenting on the regulatory probe into offshore entities.

Vinod&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;could not be reached for comment. Requests for comment sent to his holding company in Dubai,&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;Global Investment DMCC, were not responded to.

The probe comes after U.S. short-seller Hindenburg Research's January&nbsp;24 report alleging improper use of tax havens and stock manipulation by&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;Group, among other things - charges it has denied.

Hindenburg's report eroded more than $100 billion in the value of shares in&nbsp;Adani's&nbsp;group of companies.

India's Supreme Court asked SEBI in March to investigate the&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;Group for any lapses related to public shareholding, related party rules or regulatory disclosures.

SEBI's investigation into&nbsp;Adani's possible 'related party' transactions with offshore entities with links to Vinod&nbsp;Adani&nbsp;has not been reported before.

While SEBI investigations are continuing, top regulatory officials are due to give a status report to a court-appointed panel on Sunday, the two sources said, speaking on condition of anonymity as investigations are private.

There was no response from Krunal, Gardenia and Electrogen Infra to e-mails requesting comment.

While the sources said that other similar transactions are also under regulatory examination, Reuters could not ascertain the names of other entities and their possible violation of 'related party' transaction rules.

SEBI suspects there were "disclosure violations" on some of those transactions, said one of the two sources.

If proven, it could lead to monetary penalties and the matter may be referred to India's Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) for transactions that are beyond SEBI jurisdiction, the source said.

The <a href="https://www.state.gov/reports/2022-country-reports-on-human-rights-practices/india">annual US&nbsp;report</a> on human rights practices, which was published on Monday (March 20), cited "significant human rights issues" and abuses in India, according to the US&nbsp;State Department, including allegations of the targeting of religious minorities, dissidents, and journalists.&nbsp;

The findings came over a year after Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in a rare open criticism of India's human rights record, said America was keeping a watch&nbsp;on what it described as an increase in violations in India&nbsp;by some government, police, and prison officials, as reported by Reuters.&nbsp;

American financial behemoth Wells Fargo has decided to pay $3.7 billion to settle loan violations, making it the largest fine to be levelled against a bank.

The bank has been accused of harming consumers by charging illegal fees and interest on auto loans and mortgages, and incorrectly applying overdraft fees against savings and checking accounts.

On Tuesday, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) ordered Wells to repay $2 billion to consumers and enacted a $1.7 billion penalty against the bank.

The bureau blamed the bank’s bad behaviour that impacted more than 16 million customers.

“Put simply: Wells Fargo is a corporate recidivist that puts one out of three Americans at risk for potential harm,” said CFPB Director Rohit Chopra, in a call with reporters.

He said that the bank’s behaviour prompted the regulators to take additional actions against Wells Fargo that go beyond the $3.7 billion in fines and penalties.

In a statement, Wells Fargo CEO Charles Scharf said that the agreement with the CFPB is part of an effort to "transform operating practices at Wells Fargo and to put these issues behind us.”

“Our top priority is to continue to build a risk and control infrastructure that reflects the size and complexity of Wells Fargo and run the company in a more controlled, disciplined way,” Scharf said,

Wells Fargo has been repeatedly sanctioned by US regulators for breaching the consumer protection laws going back to 2016, when employees opened millions of accounts illegally in order to meet unrealistic sales goals.

Despite the warnings, the bank only intensified its malpractices after it was found to be in violation of other parts of consumer protection law, including in its auto and mortgage lending businesses.

In 2018, Wells Fargo coughed up $1 billion penalty for widespread consumer law violations, the largest against a bank for such violations at the time.

Chinese regulators have fined Alibaba Group Holding Ltd 18 billion yuan ($2.75 billion) for violating anti-monopoly rules and abusing its dominant market position, marking the highest-ever antitrust fine to be imposed in the country.&nbsp;

It said the practice violates China's anti-monopoly law by hindering the free circulation of goods and infringing on the business interests of merchants. &nbsp;

Meanwhile, in probe of Easter Bombings, where Sri Lanka witnessed one of the worst terror attacks in recent history on an easter Sunday around 21 months ago. Suicide bombers killed at least 253 people and some 500 others were injured. There were at least six coordinated blasts, targeting churches and top-end hotels, mostly in Colombo. A presidential commission investigated the attacks and now, the report has come out. There are a total of 10 conclusions. Two of them have raised eyebrows. &nbsp;

Pakistan on Saturday summoned a senior Indian diplomat to register a strong protest over alleged ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in which a woman was killed.

Geneva: Activists from Hong Kong, Xinjiang raise concerns over human rights violations by China

India on Thursday highlighted human rights violations by Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

India&#39;s response came after Pakistan raised the issue of human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mini Devi Kumam, Second Secretary, India&#39;s Permanent Mission at UNHRC, said it had become a habit of Pakistan to misuse the UNHRC platform to make misleading references about internal matters pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir.

&quot;This Council should be mindful that the dubious concern for human rights is coming from a country, which has systematically abused and violated the human rights of the people in Baluchistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well as Pakistan Occupied Kashmir,&quot; Kumam said at the 37th Session of UNHRC.

She added that &quot;Pakistan has long been attempting to mask its territorial ambitions and use of terrorism as a state policy under the guise of concern for human rights&quot;.
