A car was vandalised in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida on the intervening night on Tuesday and Wednesday. The incident happened in Sector 19, stone’s throw away from Sector 18, the upmarket commercial hub of Noida.

The car with registration number - HR 26 BH 0562 -&nbsp; belongs to a journalist. The thieves may have tried to tow away the vehicle but failed as the gear lock was in place.&nbsp;

The unknown miscreants struggled to break the front windshield of the car and later smashed the driver seat's window, opened the bonnet and stole its battery.

The journalist said&nbsp;that the thieves&nbsp;may have used&nbsp;some sort of a device&nbsp;to disable the&nbsp;alarm system installed in&nbsp;the&nbsp;car.&nbsp;

A complaint has been filed against unknown persons at the Noida Police Station, Sector 20.&nbsp; An FIR is yet to be registered in this regard.&nbsp;

This isn’t the first time that such an incident has been reported. Vandalising cars and stealing of the same has been going on for quite some time in the area and police have failed to control the menace.

As per official data, ever since the Yogi Adityanath-led government came to power, there have been more than 1100 police encounters in the state.

These shootouts have caused the death of 34 criminals, left 265 injured and led to the arrest of 2744 history-sheeters. On the other hand, four police personnel have been killed and 247 injured in these 10 months.

The UP chief minister had said that police will have full freedom to deal with rising crime rates in the state and asked criminals to either surrender or leave the state. The police promptly launched &lsquo;Operation Clean&rsquo; and took no time in beginning to deal with the wanted men.

According to information released by Uttar Pradesh Police, there were 1142 police encounter in Uttar Pradesh between March 20, 2017, and January 31, 2018.

UP continues spate of encounters, 2 more killed in 24 hours

The Uttar Pradesh police was on Sunday directed to remove all loudspeakers present in public places, religious and otherwise, that have been installed without appropriate permission being sanctioned towards the same, in a bid to curb noise pollution caused by these.The order was issued following directions from the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on the matter, citing the provisions of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.

Earlier last week, the designated bench of Allahabad High Court asked the state government whether written permission is obtained from the relevant authority before loudspeakers are installed atop religious structures like mosques, temples and gurdwaras, as well as in public places.

Following this, the police have been directed to conduct a survey of places where written permission has not been obtained in case of loudspeakers installed in their respective premises.&nbsp;

The notice directed that a team be formed to assess the situation and present a detailed report on such places by January 10.

&quot;The loudspeaker installed in public places cannot have sound level more than 10 dB above ambient noise level at the periphery of a public place and 5 dB above ambient noise level at the periphery of a private place.&nbsp;

This practically implies that sound should not go beyond the periphery of the public or private place,&quot; said Arvind Kumar, Uttar Pradesh&#39;s Principal Secretary (Home).The team has been directed to assess whether appropriate steps are being taken by religious establishments and other public places with loudspeakers installed on compliance with the provisions of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.

Further, the government is seeking details on the number of loudspeakers installed, proof of permission obtained, and what action is being taken against processions taken out in the day and night which involve loud music.

&quot;The team formed for monitoring the situation is expected to file details of loudspeakers installed without prior permission by January 10. Following this, defaulters must be informed by January 15, who in turn will be given five working days to produce proof of permission, or obtain suitable permission from the appropriate state authorities. In case of failing to comply with this, the speakers will be taken down from these places by January 20,&quot; the order read.

As per the orders of the authority, the District Magistrates (DMs) have also been directed to categorise areas into Industrial, Commercial, Residential and Silence Zones, as each area would entail a separate maximum limit for permissible sound level. Non-compliance with the above norms, the order stated, could lead to five years of imprisonment, and/or a penalty of Rs 1 lakh.

Additionally, the order states that any officer who is caught bending the aforementioned norms will be subject to strict action.The notice further stated that a report on the compliance with aforementioned norms be submitted to the Principal Secretary, Home, by January 22, so that the same can be presented before the Allahabad High Court.&nbsp;

The state government had on Tuesday shunted out tainted vice chairman of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) Satyendra Singh while effecting a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving 44 IAS officers in the second such drill in less than a week.

News reports said that when she was confronted, the woman with the man in the video (below) said she did not know him well.&nbsp;

News reports added that the man and the woman belonged to different faiths.&nbsp;

The tonsuring took place on March 22 after the constitution of anti-Romeo squads by the new Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

News reports said the superintendent of police has taken note of the incident after the video was widely circulated online.

An inquiry has been ordered and the policemen responsible have been shifted to police lines (taken off active duty) and further action is expected, the Times of India reported.&nbsp;
