Below are the details of ballot measures in these 10 states:

Arizona Proposition 139, Right to Abortion Initiative

In this battleground state, the measure seeks to enshrine the right to abortion until fetal viability, or about 24 weeks, in the state constitution. The state has banned abortion after 15 weeks.

Colorado Amendment 79, Right to Abortion and Health Insurance Coverage Initiative

The measure in the state, which currently has no gestational limit on abortion, seeks to amend the state constitution to block the government from denying, impeding or discriminating against individuals’ right to abortion. It needs 55 per cent of ayes to pass.

Florida Amendment 4, Right to Abortion Initiative

In Republican-led Florida, the question is whether to replace the state's six-week ban with protections up to fetal viability and enshrine the same in its constitution. It needs 60 per cent votes in favour to pass.

Maryland Question 1, Right to Reproductive Freedom Amendment

The measure, initiated by legislators and not citizens unlike in other states, aims to enshrine in the state constitution the right to reproductive freedom, including abortion. This state has no gestational limit.

Nebraska Initiative 434, Prohibit Abortions After the First Trimester Amendment

Unlike other states, Nebraska has two competing ballot measures on the abortion issue: one on protecting abortion rights up to fetal viability, and the other maintaining the state’s existing 12-week ban. Whichever measure gets the most votes among the two will pass.

Nevada Question 6, Right to Abortion Initiative

The desert state's measure seeks to protect the right to abortion up until viability, or after viability, in cases where a patient’s health or life may be under threat.

New York Proposal 1, Equal Protection of Law Amendment

This measure is broader in scope, seeking to end discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive health. As of now, the state protects right to abortion until fetal viability.

South Dakota Constitutional Amendment G, Right to Abortion Initiative

Limited in scope, the measure seeks abortion rights in the first trimester of pregnancy. There is already a legal challenge on the validity of signatures that led to this measure being on the ballot. This means the ballot result could be null and void if the signatures are ruled invalid.

Missouri Amendment 3, Right to Reproductive Freedom Initiative

The state has imposed near-total ban on abortion. The measure seeks to overturn it and enshrine a guarantee of reproductive freedom, including abortion care, in the state constitution.

Montana CI-128, Right to Abortion Initiative

Montana has not banned abortion but the measure seeks to enshrine the right explicitly in the state constitution.

US Election 2024: What's On US Voters' Mind On Election Eve ?

Former US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has long been targeting his opponents with threats and provocative remarks, even much ahead of the US presidential elections.

As he continued to campaign for his electoral victory, Trump has been making violent statements, targeting his opponents or warning what would happen to America if he was not elected.

Earlier in March, Trump made comments about US auto manufacturing jobs that have moved to Mexico, saying, "We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars – if I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath, for the whole—that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars.”

However later, his campaign said that he was referring to an economic bloodbath for the automaker industry, while others argued that he was referring to the country as well.

Trump's threatening statements and provocative remarks

Kamala Harris, US Vice President

During a Pennsylvania rally in September, Trump said that Vice President Kamala Harris was responsible for the "biggest crime story of our time," referring to illegal border crossings. "She should be impeached and prosecuted for her actions," he added.

Joe Biden, US President

Former US President Trump shared an image of Joe Biden bound on Truth Social, echoing hostage-like imagery.

Mike Pence, Former US Vice President

During the January 6 riots, Trump said, "Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify."

But they’re not going to sell those cars.” However later, his campaign said that he was referring to an economic bloodbath for the automaker industry, while others argued that he was referring to the country as well. No more talks about abortion laws, it's high time a woman speaks up for the alike. On my train ride, I heard someone publicly say this race is b*ls vs b*bs. It makes me wonder, do people hate women so much that they prefer Trump?" × Asserting the need for corrective measures in the healthcare sector, Dwivedi stressed on affordable medical assistance programmes like Medicare and Medicaid that cover nearly 150 million Americans. Earlier in October, in a first, Harris proposed Medicare home health care, saying in an interview with ABC, “There are so many people in our country who are right in the middle. They’re taking care of their kids and they’re taking care of their aging parents, and it’s just almost impossible to do it all, especially if they work." As we spoke to Naseem Khan, a techie from New York, she reiterated the need for a better economy, climate action, and better immigration for Indians. "The temperature here oscillates between 40°F and 70°F, the sudden switch is unbearable. Global warming is no longer a concept in research books. It has been accepted and established as a threat. It's imperative to take timely action." Highlighting how inflation is becoming a burden to keep a well-charted budget, Khan added, "Fuel was priced at $1.7/litre in Texas, it has reached $3. Breakfast essentials like eggs flaunt a $9 price tag, which used to be humbly priced at $4." Red, blue, or purple states, it’s only a matter of hours until the world will know who America’s next president is. Will America elect its first ‘Madam President’ or will a former president assume office again? Indian Americans are waiting to see, just like the rest of the nation and the world.
