According to a police source, the individual "went himself to a hospital" for treatment after suffering "light" injuries. The explosion at the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid was reported to Spain's National Police force at around 1:00 pm (1200 GMT), the source continued.&nbsp;

The source claimed without going into further detail that police had started an inquiry "which includes the participation of forensic police." Police established a security perimeter around the embassy, which is situated in a quiet neighbourhood in northern Madrid.

Doug Bush, the U.S. Army's chief weapons buyer, told reporters at the Pentagon last week the Army was also looking at accelerating production of 155 millimeter artillery shells - currently only manufactured at government facilities - by allowing defense contractors to build them.

The invasion of Ukraine drove up demand for American-made weapons and ammunition, while U.S. allies in Eastern Europe are "putting a lot of orders," in for a range of arms as they supply Ukraine, Bush added.

He said falling U.S. inventories help explain the rush to get more arms now, saying stockpiles are "getting low relative to the levels we like to keep on hand and certainly to the levels we're going to need to deter a China conflict."

Karako also noted that the U.S. exit from Afghanistan left lots of air-dropped bombs available. They cannot be easily used with Ukrainian aircraft, but "in today's context we should be looking for innovative ways to convert them to standoff capability."

Although a handful of GLSDB units have already been made, there are many logistical obstacles to formal procurement. The Boeing plan requires a price discovery waiver, exempting the contractor from an in-depth review that ensures the Pentagon is getting the best deal possible. Any arrangement would also require at least six suppliers to expedite shipments of their parts and services to produce the weapon quickly.

A Boeing spokesperson declined to comment. Pentagon spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Tim Gorman declined to comment on providing any "specific capability" to Ukraine, but said the U.S. and its allies "identify and consider the most appropriate systems" that would help Kyiv.

Although the United States has rebuffed requests for the 185-mile (297km) range ATACMS missile, the GLSDB's 94-mile (150km) range would allow Ukraine to hit valuable military targets that have been out of reach and help it continue pressing its counterattacks by disrupting Russian rear areas.

GLSDB is made jointly by SAAB AB (SAABb.ST) and Boeing Co (BA.N) and has been in development since 2019, well before the invasion, which Russia calls a "special operation". In October, SAAB chief executive Micael Johansson said of the GLSDB: "We are imminently shortly expecting contracts on that."

According to the document - a Boeing proposal to U.S. European Command (EUCOM), which is overseeing weapons headed to Ukraine - the main components of the GLSDB would come from current U.S. stores.

The M26 rocket motor is relatively abundant, and the GBU-39 costs about $40,000 each, making the completed GLSDB inexpensive and its main components readily available. Although arms manufacturers are struggling with demand, those factors make it possible to yield weapons by early 2023, albeit at a low rate of production.

GLSDB is GPS-guided, can defeat some electronic jamming, is usable in all weather conditions, and can be used against armored vehicles, according to SAAB's website. At a production plant in rural Arkansas, Lockheed Martin is redoubling efforts to meet surging demand for mobile rocket launchers known as HIMARS, which have been successful in hitting Russian supply lines, command posts and even individual tanks. The No. 1 U.S. defense contractor is working through supply chain issues and labor shortages to double production to 96 launchers a year.

Lockheed Martin has posted more than 15 jobs related to the production of HIMARS, including supply chain quality engineers, purchasing analysts, and testing engineers, according to its website.

Zelensky said that the 'Grain from Ukraine' initiative demonstrated that global food security was "not just empty words" for Kyiv.&nbsp;

Zelenskiy said Kyiv had raised around $150 million from more than 20 countries and the European Union to export grain to countries including Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia and Yemen.

"We plan to send at least 60 vessels from Ukrainian ports to countries that most face the threat of famine and drought," Zelenskiy told the gathering.

The summit was attended in-person by the prime ministers of Belgium, Poland and Lithuania and the president of Hungary. Germany and France's presidents and the head of the European Commission delivered speeches by video.

Metals, that make major part in our daily, has also major impact by this war as most the metals are either produced or refined in Russia or Ukraine, is also witnessing a great price hike globally. That has resulted in a significant drop in operating profits for the auto industry, as well as an expected rise in prices in the coming quarters.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that travel costs are expected to rise in the near future, making the situation even more difficult. If the price of crude oil continues to rise, airlines are preparing to raise ticket prices because it is having a negative impact on operating costs.

Pharmaceutical companies will be forced to raise prices as a result of the Russian invasion in the days ahead. Considering that the pandemic is still raging, this could lead to the collapse of the Indian family unit.

India must be cautious at this time because of the numerous sanctions imposed on Russia and the fact that Russia is a close ally of India. In the aftermath of the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other cabinet ministers said that the attempts to regain power in various parts of Kyiv was deeply impacted by the fresh round of missile strikes and the official reports also claimed that three, including a teenager, were killed.&nbsp;

"The leadership of&nbsp;Ukraine&nbsp;has every opportunity to bring the situation back to normal," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said before adding that they just need to agree to Russia’s conditions.&nbsp;

"Seventy per cent of the capital remains without electricity. Energy companies are making every effort to return it as soon as possible," he told Kyiv Post when asked about the latest developments.&nbsp;

Earlier, the Union Nations criticised Russia’s constant attack on key infrastructures around the Ukrainian capital and said that the winter can be “life threatening” for around 10 million citizens.&nbsp;

Reuters could not immediately establish what progress was made at the talks.&nbsp;

The Ukrainian ambassador to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar, told Reuters that "releasing our prisoners of war is part of negotiations over opening Russian ammonia exports", adding "Of course we look for ways to do that at any opportunity". Bodnar said he was unaware if a meeting took place in the UAE.&nbsp;

Putin said on Wednesday that Russian officials would work to unblock Russian fertilisers stuck in European ports and to resume ammonia exports.&nbsp;

The UAE's foreign ministry did not respond to Reuters' request for comment.&nbsp;

Lana Nusseibeh, UAE's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said Abu Dhabi remains firmly committed to help keep channels of communication open, encourage dialogue and support diplomacy to end the war in Ukraine.&nbsp;

"In times of conflict, our collective responsibility is to leave no stone unturned towards identifying and pursuing paths that bring about a peaceful and swift resolution of crises," Nusseibeh said in a statement carried by state news agency WAM.&nbsp;

Russia and Ukraine's defence and foreign ministries did not respond to Reuters' requests for comment.&nbsp;

Asked if the United Nations were involved in the talks, a spokesperson for the organisation declined to comment.&nbsp;
