It added, “As Russia ramps up its missile and drone strikes against Ukraine, the leaders will discuss Ukraine’s urgent needs and the vital importance of the United States’ continued support at this critical moment.”

The meeting comes at a critical time for Ukraine as a deadlock over emergency aid to the war-torn country continues in the US Congress. Meanwhile, the Biden administration is looking to strike an agreement with US lawmakers that would provide military aid for both Ukraine and Israel.

A diplomatic source close to the Hungarian embassy was quoted by the Guardian as saying: “Orbán is confident that the Ukraine aid will not pass in Congress. That is why he is trying to block assistance from the EU as well.”

Social media is buzzing with a viral video where Canadians are seen protesting outside the Toronto hotel hosting a meeting between Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with banners and loudspeakers.&nbsp;Zelensky made his inaugural visit to Canada, a close ally, on Friday (September 22). The Ukrainian president might have anticipated a far more hospitable reception compared to the US, where he is facing backlash from some US politicians regarding increased military aid.

But the scenes in Canada were not so great either, rather they saw a vociferous vocal public protest.&nbsp;

As both leaders exited the Royal York Hotel to leave the venue in the waiting convoy, a vocal crowd was seen passionately expressing their sentiments, shouting "go home" in what seemed to be a pointed message directed at the Ukrainian President.

Meanwhile, Kyiv’s allies in the West, including the United States and European Union, have pledged to send billions of dollars worth of aid to Ukraine as governments and private investors met to fund the war-torn country’s reconstruction. The two-day&nbsp;conference in London brought together more than 1,000 public and private sector decision-makers from across 60 countries.&nbsp;

Additionally, he also announced the London Conference Framework for War Risk insurance which could pave the way for de-risking investment without giving any further details. “Together with our allies we will maintain our support for Ukraine’s defence and for the counteroffensive, and we’ll stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes as they continue to win this war,” said Sunak.&nbsp;

The UK will also provide&nbsp;an extra $306 million in development aid funding for humanitarian projects. Furthermore, the UK PM said more than 400 companies from 38 countries had signed up for the Ukraine Business Compact, a statement of support for the war-torn country’s recovery.

"Very concretely, these are commitments to deliver generators, help repair infrastructure, deliver LEDs (light-emitting&nbsp;diodes) for lighting," he said.&nbsp;
