The man informed the doctors that he once coughed out a 5 cm long hair and said that he had been smoking cigarettes since 1990. He further said that he started developing the symptoms in 2006.

A bronchoscopy was performed on the man by the doctors and they found various hair growing from an area in his throat where he had earlier undergone&nbsp;surgery after facing a near-drowning incident in his childhood.

He had also undergone a tracheotomy at the age of 10 in which his trachea was cut open to allow an air tube to be placed for making oxygen reach his lungs.&nbsp;

Later, the opening was closed using a skin and cartilage graft from his ear, and this area subsequently became the site of hair growth.

After many failed attempts to pull the octopus from the throat of the man, the endoscope was manoeuvred past the animal and then retroflexed, which allowed the doctors to extract the creature.

Then, the doctors used forceps to grasp the head of the octopus and pull it from the throat of the man. Two days after the surgery, the man recovered well and was discharged from the hospital.

According to the doctors present in the hospital, food obstructions are among the most common issues which are encountered at the facility. In around 10 per cent to 20 per cent of cases, endoscopic intervention is important, while 1 per cent of them need surgery, they stated.&nbsp;

“The ‘push technique’ is the primary method recommended with high success rates, however applying excessive force can cause oesophagal perforation,” the medical team stated.&nbsp;

The researchers at the Netherlands Cancer Institute found an organ 1.5 inches in length on average, according to the journal Radiotherapy and Oncology.

"Histology and 3D reconstruction confirmed the presence of PSMA-expressing, predominantly mucous glands with multiple draining ducts, predominantly near the torus tubarius," the journal said in its report.

"The human body contains a pair of previously overlooked and clinically relevant macroscopic salivary gland locations," the study said while proposing to name&nbsp;it tubarial glands.

The researchers reportedly found the new organ accidentally when they were using a combination of CT scans and positron emission tomography (PET) scans called PSMA PET-CT to study prostate cancer. The doctors had injected a radioactive "tracer" into the patient.

The researchers studied images of &nbsp;100 patients and found that all of them had the glands.

"Sparing these glands in patients receiving RT may provide an opportunity to improve their quality of life," it said.

The doctors said the new discovery would help in cancer treatment since damage to these glands can impact the quality of life due to radiation impact.

On Saturday, Chauhan was arrested and his motorcycle and helmet were recovered. It was found that the girl&#39;s father had the same motorcycle and helmet and had been behaving oddly.&nbsp;

After the last rites, Kumar was questioned at length and he confessed to the crime. He told police that he had caught his daughter with the boy several times. On March 7, he said he followed her and found her with the same boy again.&nbsp;

He allegedly took her to Loni and slit her throat using a kitchen knife&nbsp;which he had carried with him. He dumped the body and the knife in a ditch and went back home.&nbsp;

As per reports, the police are investigating whether other family members were involved. They have detained the girl&#39;s cousins who had accompanied Kumar to the spot where they had spotted her body.
