India: Home Ministry amends Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act, boosting LG's powers

With secessionist tendencies in the alliance of Sahel states, double-digit inflation in Ghana and Nigeria, and public debt reaching record levels, the currency of the economic community of West African states doesn’t look likely to enter circulation in 2027 as planned...And now the bloc is seeking funds to establish a 5,000-strong security force to combat terrorism.

Terrorism 'should never be tolerated': Jaishankar on 39th anniversary of Kanishka bombing

Pakistan's top leadership has cleared the decks to launch a new military operation to curb terrorism in the country. The goal is to quell the surge in violence. Considering it is not the first time Pakistan has made such an announcement, the question is: Will it work?

Gravitas: Can Pakistan's new military operation curb terrorism?

In 2018, the Indian government again accused Nijjar of "multiple targeted killings" in India, and in February 2018, Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab, included Nijjar on a list of "most wanted persons" given to Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau.

Now, in a curious turn of history, Canada is becoming a glorifier of Khalistani terrorism in the name of freedom of speech.

A combination of factors are behind it: The Justin Trudeau government is in coalition with the New Democratic Party, whose leader Jagmeet Singh is an open supporter of Khalistan movement. Parliament honour for Nijjar shows Canada is killin' it at being Pakistan

Germany's intelligence agency has flagged the jihadist threat posed by the followers of Afghanistan-based Islamic State offshoot and related domestic extremism in Germany. The report by BfV comes amid growing anti-immigrant sentiment in Germany, reflected most recently in the surge of far-right parties during the European Union parliamentary elections.

It estimated the strength of global jihadist organisations at 27,200.

The group, designated ISPK by the German intelligence service, "has managed to bring followers to Western Europe, possibly with the wave of refugees from Ukraine, who are now staying here in various Western European countries," Director General Thomas Haldenwang told the media on Tuesday (June 18).

The senior official of German intelligence agency BfV and Interior Minister Nancy Faeser presented an annual report on the intelligence operations, including a July 2023 operation that involved a series of arrests in Germany and the Netherlands.

The German authorities had arrested a total of nine people hailing from Central Asia, seven amongst whom lived in Germany. They are accused of founding a "domestic terrorist group" and preparing major attacks on European soil.

Germany's intelligence agency has flagged the jihadist threat posed by the followers of Afghanistan-based Islamic State offshoot and related domestic extremism in Germany.

In Japan, a new kind of trouble is brewing in the realm of part-time work, and it's got a name: "baito tero." The term, a blend of "arubaito" (part-time work) and "terrorism," doesn't involve explosions or violence, but it's making waves nonetheless.

So what is baito tero? Imagine the wildest antics you could see on social media, now picture them happening in your favorite restaurants and convenience stores, courtesy of their own part-time employees.

But why the sudden spotlight on this phenomenon? While "baito tero" isn't new, recent incidents thrust it back into the limelight, sparking widespread condemnation across Japanese media.
