<p>Having&nbsp;returned to India in the wee hours of Thursday (Jul 4), the players visited PM Modi’s residence earlier in the day after which they headed to Mumbai. Rohit and Co had earlier taken a 16-hour flight from Barbados where special arraignments were made. The Indian team, who were stranded in Barbados following their T20 WC win due to Hurricane Beryl, reached the national capital early Thursday morning and met PM Modi before heading to Mumbai for an open-bus victory parade at the Marine Drive. Ahead of their meet-up with the PM, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid and the likes had a special cake-cutting ceremony.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The special three-tier cake curated by the chefs of ITC Maurya had the hues of orange, blue and white, representing the colours of India's T20I jersey. In addition, it was topped with the replica of the coveted silverware that India won, at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, and comprised images of India lifting the iconic trophy.</p>

<p>Parthiv slammed Pakistan's decision to send swashbuckling batter Fakhar Zaman at No. 4 in the T20 WC. He reckoned that the move was made&nbsp;because Babar wanted to continue batting at the top. In this regard, he said, "Captain wanted to open, so he had to come down. If the captain is a selfish player, there’s no chance."</p>

<p>When asked by actor Saiyami on whether he was being too harsh on Babar, Parthiv added, "But I’ve said all of this. There’s nothing new in it. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, everyone says that."</p>

<p>Recently, in another talk show, former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik also slammed Babar and stated that he won't make it to the playing XI of top T20I teams such as India, Australia and England.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a video shared by the BCCI on social media platforms, Dravid said, “I am really short of words but all I want to say is thank you everyone for making me a part of what is an incredible memory. I think all you will remember these moments. We always say it's not about the runs, it's not about the wickets, you'll never remember your career. But you will remember is moments like these. I cannot be more prouder of you guys. To come back the way you did, the way you fought. The way we worked as a team. The resilience."</p>

<p>Rohit stated that the ground had given them the win and he would remember it for the rest of his life. Thus, the 37-year-old -- who announced his T20I retirement shortly after India's win -- shared that&nbsp;he wanted to keep a piece of the track with him forever.</p>

<p>After the captain's photo shoot with the T20 WC trophy, Rohit said in a video shared by BCCI, "See, those things are actually, I don't think I can describe that because nothing was scripted. It was all, you know, whatever was coming instinctively, I was feeling the moment, when I went to the pitch, because that pitch gave us this. We played on that particular pitch and we won the game, That particular ground as well. I will remember that ground forever in my life and that pitch as well. So I wanted to have a piece of it with me. Yeah, those moments are very, very special. And the place where all our dreams came true. I wanted something of it. So that was the feeling behind it."</p>

Suryakumar Yadav’s catch in the final over was decisive as India restricted South Africa to 169/8 in 20 overs and won the T20 World Cup for the first time since 2007.</p>

<p>South Africa got off to a poor start in their innings as they lost Reeza Hendricks (4) and Aiden Markram (4) in the opening three overs. However, the Proteas then recovered well with Tristan Stubbs (31) and Klaasen stitching a partnership of 58 runs for the third wicket. Despite Stubbs’ wicket, Klaasen continued his onslaught with the bat&nbsp;to keep South Africa in the race. His innings consisted of 5 sixes and 2 fours as he scored 52 off just 27 deliveries.</p>

Dravid, therefore, goes down as one of the most successful coaches in the history of Indian cricket.</p>

However, his greatest moment came on Saturday when India ended their 11-year wait for an ICC trophy while also dropping curtains on the 17-year wait for the T20 World Cup.</p>

<p>Putting in numbers, Dravid won 56 T20I matches during his 78-match tenure which started in November 2021 against New Zealand. In the ODIs India won 41 matches from his 56 with success across home and way turf. In Test format, Dravid had an impressive record of 14 wins in 24 matches and lost only seven matches.</p>
