The notice asked Akshay and Twinkle to cancel the auction "failing which necessary action shall be taken against you under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code".

When the controversy erupted, the Bollywood couple had claimed that all the money raised from the auction would be used for social causes and 90 per cent of the net proceeds from it would support NGO Janice's Trust, an animal rescue service, treatment centre and shelter based in Panchgani in Maharashtra. It all started when the news of the auction reached the naval officers and one such former officer wrote a lengthy post on Facebook criticising the act. He wrote: "By putting (it) in the auction, you have shown no respect for national interest (and) have also played with the sentiments of armed forces personnel and their widows and their family members".

"As a matter of fact, till date, no uniform or medal has been put for auction. The reason for the same being that an officer's uniform is bestowed as a singular honour on a commissioned officer by President of India for life. The uniform is the same that Akshay wore in film Rustom -- a 2016 period thriller set in the 1950s about Parsi Indian naval officer Rustom Pavri, who struggles with his marriage after he discovers his wife (played by Ileana D'Cruz) has an affair with his friend, a businessman who was trying to negotiate a deal to sell a damaged aircraft carrier to the Indian Navy.

The film was based on the real-life incident of Naval Officer K. M. Nanavati and businessman Prem Ahuja.

3. Uniform is not a piece of cloth that a producer hands over to cinestars for enacting roles and make some quick bucks. The permission to wear the uniform comes from the office of the President of India. Uniform is earned with your blood, toil and sweat which is placed on the mortal remains of a soldier along with the tricolour.

Rustom-II, India&#39;s indigenously developed long-endurance combat-capable drone, on Wednesday, successfully completed its maiden-flight, giving a boost to India&#39;s development programme for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).

The Defence Research and Development Organisation? (DRDO) successfully carried out the maiden-flight of TAPAS 201 (RUSTOM II), a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV. It has an endurance of 24 hours and can conduct surveillance and reconnaissance missions for the country&#39;s armed forces.

The UAV can also be used as an unmanned armed combat vehicle on the lines of the US&#39;s Predator drone.

The test flight took place from Aeronautical Test Range (ATR), Chitradurga, 250 kilometres&nbsp;from Bangalore, which is a newly developed flight test range for the testing of UAVs and manned aircraft.

The flight accomplished the main objectives of proving the flying platform, such as take-off, bank, level flight and landing among others, a statement by the Defence Ministry said.

TAPAS 201 has been designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), the Bangalore-based lab of DRDO with HAL-BEL as the production partners.

The UAV weighing two tonnes was put into the air by a dedicated team of young scientists of DRDO. It was piloted (external and internal) by the pilots from the armed forces.

It is also the first R&amp;D prototype UAV which has undergone certification and qualification for the first flight from the Center for Military Airworthiness &amp; Certification&nbsp;and Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance.

TAPAS 201, a multi-mission UAV is being developed to carry out Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) roles for the three armed forces with an endurance of 24 hours.

It is capable of&nbsp;carrying different combinations of payloads like Medium Range Electro Optic, Long Range Electro Optic, Synthetic Aperture Radar, Electronic Intelligence, Communication Intelligence&nbsp;and Situational Awareness Payloads&nbsp;to perform missions during day and night.

Many critical systems such as airframe, landing gear, flight control and avionics sub-systems are being developed in India with the collaboration of private industries.

Rustom-II will undergo further trials for validating the design parameters, before going for User Validation Trials.
