Speaking to the press on Christmas Eve, Ruben Amorim spoke on Rashford who has been out of favour in recent weeks from United’s first team. According to the United boss, he is desperate to play but things will depend on how the players will train.

Ruben Amorim was not happy with the forward’s comments to journalist Henry Winter. Rashford said he was “ready for a new challenge” after being dropped for United’s last two Premier League matches including the Manchester derby last Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.

The 27-year-old, who was left out of last weekend's derby against Manchester City, came through United's youth ranks and has chalked up 138 goals in 426 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2016.
