The nine military officials who were removed from the National People's Congress on Friday (Dec 29) sat in parliament as non-elected representatives. Their dismissal "suggests that those officers are being probed and confirms some of the rumours circulating on the topic" said US-based SinoInsider, which is a firm specialising in Chinese politics.

Arakhamia said that politicians should not head the “force” agencies of Ukraine, like the defence ministry, in wartime, instead, they should be led by people who have a background in security or defence.

He added that the position of minister of strategic industries will be offered to Reznikov.

Reznikov, who had earlier stated that it was up to Zelenskyto decide on the reshuffle, later while speaking to the Ukrainian Fakty ICTV online media said that his reshuffle to the new ministry was news to him.

"If I suddenly received such an offer from the president of Ukraine or the prime minister, I would refuse it, because I do not have the expertise," said Reznikov.

Zelensky did not release any media statement immediately on the reshuffling of Reznikov, who had taken oath as the country's defence minister in November 2021, just a few months before a full-scale invasion was launched by Russia on February 24, 2022.

Meanwhile, speaking about the possibility of a reshuffle on national television Sunday night, the Ukrainian presidential adviser&nbsp;Mykhailo Podolyak said, "Reznikov was extremely efficient in terms of communication with our partners. And this is a very important component in this case."

During wartime, the defence minister fostered ties with Western defence officials and also monitored the receipt of military aid worth billions of dollars to help Kyiv fight the Moscow invasion.

Podolyak stated that the "wonderful" personal relations of Reznikov with allies have helped the country receive military supplies.

"Negotiations are not just mathematical formulae but also personal relationships. And trust. Unfortunately, today we are losing a measure of trust in us," Podolyak added.

To replace the anticipated four-star vacancies caused by the impending retirement of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Nadeem Raza and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, two additional generals have been promoted in advance.

12 Pakistan major generals promoted in massive overhaul of top military brass

The commanders of Brazil's army, navy and air force will be replaced, the defence ministry said Tuesday, a day after President Jair Bolsonaro overhauled his cabinet with six substitutions, including a new defence minister.

"The decision was communicated in a meeting on Tuesday with incoming defence minister (Walter Souza) Braga Netto and outgoing minister Fernando Azevedo," it said in a brief statement that did not give a reason for their departure.

Amid a slide in his popularity, President Jair Bolsonaro had earlier shaken up the Cabinet, including replacing Brazil's foreign minister,&nbsp;who was widely&nbsp;criticised&nbsp;for an anti-globalism stance and accused by some of aggravating the pandemic by alienating vaccine suppliers.&nbsp;

Bolsonaro tweeted&nbsp;on&nbsp;Monday that he was shifting three other Cabinet ministers to new posts,&nbsp;chief of staff,&nbsp;defence&nbsp;minister and attorney general,&nbsp;and naming a new justice and public security minister and a new government secretary.&nbsp;

But the biggest change was moving&nbsp;Ernesto Araújo&nbsp;out as foreign minister.&nbsp;Ernesto Araújo&nbsp;had most recently been under fire for comments and actions that critics said impeded faster access to coronavirus vaccines as the coronavirus batters Brazil.&nbsp;

It was just the latest Cabinet turmoil for the embattled Bolsonaro. The president in mid-March replaced the health minister, whose tenure coincided with most of Brazil's 314,000 Covid-19 deaths and became the target of fierce criticism. In February, Bolsonaro tapped a retired army general to take over state-run oil behemoth Petrobras, seeking to appeal to his constituency of truck drivers,&nbsp;who had threatened to strike over fuel price increases.&nbsp;

Hours after B S Yeddyurappa assumed office as Chief Minister, several IAS and IPS officers were today transferred and a new Advocate General appointed in a top-level reshuffle.

In a major decision, the Yeddyurappa government appointed senior advocate Prabhuling K Navadagi as the Advocate General of Karnataka, in place of Madhusudan R Naik, who has since resigned.

Governor Vajubhai Vala appointed Navadagi to the post with immediate effect, a government notification said.

Effecting changes in the bureaucracy, the government appointed M Lakshminarayana, additional chief secretary, public works department, as the additional chief secretary to the chief minister.

It also notified that his position would be equivalent to the additional chief secretary in the home department.

Senior IPS officer Amar Kumar Pandey, serving as Additional Director General of Police, Railways, has been made ADGP, Intelligence, according to a government notification.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Karnataka State Reserve Police Sandeep Patil will be the DIG, Intelligence.

Bidar Superintendent of Police D Devaraja has been transferred to Bengaluru Central division as the deputy commissioner of police.

Superintendent of police in the Anti-Corruption Bureau S Girish has been transferred as DCP of Bengaluru North East Division.

Sri Lankan government rejigged its cabinet earlier today at the Presidential Secretariat. This is the second cabinet reshuffle in a year by the Maithripala Sirisena-led government and the fourth ever since the government was formed in the year 2015.&nbsp;

The last cabinet turnaround took place on February 5 this year.&nbsp;

According to reports, as many as 18 changes have been made in the cabinet. New faces and portfolios have been introduced. Former minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapakse has been named the Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs.

The reshuffle was necessitated after Prime Minister Wickremesinghe won 'no confidence' motion in Parliament last month.

Parliament will recommence its session from May 8.

All in all, 18 ministers were sworn in today, no further changes in the cabinet were made.
