<p>Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has made his first startup investment in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand SUGAR Cosmetics, the company announced on Saturday. It, however, did not divulge the investment figure.</p>

<p>SUGAR Cosmetics started off as a D2C brand in 2015 and then ventured into offline trade in 2017. Currently, it is clocking annual sales of more than Rs 550 crore with a physical presence with more than 45,000 retail touch points across the country.</p>

<p>"I have admired SUGAR`s ability to build a tremendous fan following over the years and I'm excited to be a part of this journey and help the brand achieve its mission of providing Indian women access to premium and quality makeup products specially formulated for them," said Singh.</p>

<p>In June, SUGAR Cosmetics raised $50 million in series D funding led by the Asia fund of L Catterton. The round also saw participation from existing investors: A91 Partners, Elevation Capital and India Quotient.</p>

<p>The new investment by Ranveer "is expected to further boost SUGAR's expansion in other potential markets," it said.</p>

<p>"SUGAR is the makeup of choice for bold, independent women who refuse to be stereotyped into roles and if someone shares the same DNA as ours, it is Ranveer," said Vineeta Singh, Cofounder and CEO, SUGAR Cosmetics.</p>

<p>"This will help supercharge our growth trajectory as we continue scaling SUGAR aggressively to build it into a large and much-loved makeup &amp; beauty brand," added Kaushik Mukherjee, co-founder and COO.</p>

<p>Ranveer's actor-wife Deepika Padukone has invested in several startups, via her investment arm KA Enterprises, like Epigamia, Nua, Blu Smart, Bellatrix Aerospace and Atomberg Technologies, etc.</p>

<p>Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who recently got embroiled in a controversy after posing nude for a magazine photoshoot, on Monday, recorded his statement with the Mumbai Police, over an FIR filed against him for the same.</p>

<p>The FIR had been registered against Ranveer on July 26, on a complaint filed at the Chembur Police Station. Reportedly, the case was filed after receiving the complaint by an office-bearer of the NGO who had alleged that the actor hurt the sentiments of women with his nude photos.</p>

<p>On Monday, the `Padmaavat` actor got his statement recorded for 2 hours at Mumbai`s Chembur Police station, where Ranveer reached today at 7:30 am though he had been asked to come on August 30. The Mumbai Police filed the FIR under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code like 292 (sale of obscene books, etc), 293 (sale of obscene objects to young people), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and provisions of the Information Technology Act.</p>

<p>Ranveer`s photo shoot images were posted online on July 21. In them, Ranveer is seen wearing no clothes. In one of the images, he was seen lying on a rug naked recreating Burt Reynold`s famous photograph.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer was recently seen in Netflix`s interactive special `Ranveer vs Wild with Bear Grylls` which received a positive response from netizens all over the globe. As far as films are concerned, he will next be seen in Rohit Shetty`s next directorial film `Cirkus` with Jacqueline Fernandes and Pooja Hegde. The film is slated to release on the occasion of Christmas 2022.</p>

<p>Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has added another golden feather to his already-decorated hat. The star has won the 'Best Actor of the Year' award at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IIFM) 2022. Singh was felicitated for portraying Indian cricketer Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan's directorial '83'. The film celebrates India's first Cricket World Cup win.</p>

<p>Elated on receiving the award, Singh said, "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the jury members at IFFM for bestowing me with the Best Actor of the Year Award for my role as Kapil Dev `83` one of the most loved films of my career! It`ll always be one of the most cherished films in my filmography."</p>

<p>The actor further added, "But more than the accolades, it`s the process of making this film that I will cherish the most. I`m grateful to Kabir Sir for giving me this opportunity for guiding me and for inspiring me with his leadership. I share this honour with the cast and crew of 83 who are so dear to me, and with whom I share a very, very warm bond."</p>

<p>Singh dedicated this honour to the entire cast of the film. "I dedicate this honour to Kapil's Devils, a fine bunch of gentlemen who dared to dream, who through their efforts and achievements showed us that we Indians can be the best in the world," Singh said.</p>

<p>On Thursday, the cast and crew of the upcoming film 'Liger' reached Hyderabad to launch the Puri Jagannadh directorial's trailer. Later, another event was held in Mumbai to mark the trailer launch. Bollywood's heartthrob Ranveer Singh was also present at the event as a guest.</p>

<p>Ranveer Singh's bromance with Vijay Deverkonda and their fun banter grabbed headlines as videos and photos of the event started going viral across social media platforms. In one of the viral clips,&nbsp;Ranveer is seen pointing out that Vijay has decided to wear "chappals (slippers)" at his own trailer launch.</p>
